I would have liked to have heard mention of 1) magnesium supplementation for mitigating the calcium-pump mechanism of glutamate-mediated (and aspartate-mediated) excitotoxicity, as a non-drug and essentially nontoxic alternative modality, and 2) the use of cholinergic precursors and pantothenate (vit B5) as alternatives to the cholinesterase inhibiting drugs. Polypharmy as a cause of Alzheimer's disease appears to be underappreciated in therapeutic decision- making process.
