Do any of these craft survive? I'd love to sidle up to the dock at the local yacht club in one of these beauties. "No, Hans!! Don't shoot the tennis instructor!"
being only a boy in ww2 I always wondered how these craft were so successful (we were aware of them because they operated in inland waters) After seeing the hull and learning of the power that drove them it is little wonder. Their losses were remarkably low too I believe.
Was the hull not used as the design for german lifeboats after the war

Ive been playing PT boats Knights of the Sea on my PC as the allies. My British MTB's are no match for the German Eboats. When they show up the only thing you can do in a MTB is run away. lol
@m1rock During WW II, the S-boote sank 101 merchant ships totalling 214,728 tons. In addition, they sank 12 destroyers, 11 minesweepers, 8 landing ships, 6 enemy MTBs, a torpedo boat, a minelayer, one submarine and a number of small merchant craft - including killing 800+ US soldiers who were surprised one night on a D Day exercise not much to LOL about.
You are right British & US boats were outclassed but they did not run away.
