They don't sound bad to me. He actually sounds pretty damn good. Some parts just sounded low because the audio is low. And it can be hard to sing over loud guitars, drums, and amps that make them sound even louder. I had to turn up my volume all the way lol. Still looks pretty good if it was transferred from tape. I think that lyrical interpretation is used to make a point. for example, in this song, the repeating of "we are the youth" to me, means "we're children. its our job to make sure that innocence remains in the world and the politicians are preventing us from doing that and we need to stop them."I'm not an experienced songwriter, so im only guessing. i've only written a few verses for one of my own songs but i like to think about things like this alot.

I've never understood the comparison between Silverchair and Nirvana.  the 'chair had musical depth i don't think Nirvana had, probably because Cobain died before he could fully explore his musical talents. In any case, I always thought of Silverchair as alt-rock, while Nirvana seemed more punk than anything else.
