@rummdrumm1 thank u very much. pretty much when i am on a full set u can play like that and make fill-ins when necessary like on the beginning and end of a songs verse or chorus. i just put a link on the video screen where i play the drumset, click it and you'll see.
When you hit the cymbal, do you hit it with just the tip of the stick or with all the first part of the stick? Because I tried that and it gave two different sounds.
@ziblaziblaza You can hit it however u want, u just need to know how to control the sound of ur kompa cymbal, and it also depend on the drumstick u have. But if u want ur cymbal sound solid hitting with both tip & body of the stick at the same time will give u good result. another thing too, depend on ur cymbal also. this cymbal im playing with dnt sound right to me but i try to make it work.
they use the snare? please explain, i'm confused.

If you don't mind I have another question. What's the difference (in drumming) between kompa and cadence-lypso??
