@Handsleight nah i wrestle in high skool dude and that works trust me.i have done it to plenty of guys.and i dnt know if u watch ufc or not but in the hughes vs gsp fight at ufc 79 gsp did this to matt hughes and took him down and wrestling is hughes bread and butter.he is a really good wrestler
for all of those who say this move doesn't work, i saw this in the iowa-iowa st match and it was beautifully done. it works, even if you miss the knee pick you can still get a single by tapping the other knee
This move could work. The way I learned it (you can do it from an underhook, overhook, or both) you circle your opponent to the hooked side and once he steps, you drop level a little and tap the knee. It's more akin to an ankle pick. It's pretty effective. The way this guy does it could work, but only in an extreme surprise situation, or against a novice wrestler, I think.
this is better used as a continuation move from the inside trip. step in to trip the leg on the same side you have the underhook and when he steps that leg back, reach across for the knee pick. I won a national championship in overtime with that move
This would never work if you are wrestling/fighting someone that is even average. You would have a better chance if you took a step with your inside foot, grab the knee, and then drive forward, but even so, I would still not recommend using this move.
yeah that wouldnt work...if i was the defensive wrestler i would just use my arm that is overhooked to post his arm out...that dude wouldn't be able to touch my knee with a seven foot arm!!! Just throw a lateral drop!
I guess if your opponent has really bad balance or isn't a very good wrestler this might work. Realize thought that when you drop your shoulder to reach for his knee you are vulnerable to being attacked from a dominating position. Make sure your opponent is off balance with his weight on the leg you're attacking when you reach. I'd consider this a low probability move.
@wicombatsports dude thanx for the vids, im legit getting frustrated becuse i cant cant the moves right in prac. but i come home and watch this and i get better. You should do more vids, like counter ect

this was uploaded on my birthday. who would of thought.

it would work better if he said to sky the underhook and run and grab the opposite knee and then keep it until your opponent is flat on the ground

This move would work great if the guy knew how to do it. I've used the move many times in high school and college matches.

Yeah agreed. Why would he not just grab a single leg from his underhooked arm in that position. WAY Less work and more effective.
lilJ2009 2 years ago
He doesn't grab a single leg because what he's doing takes his opponent right to thei back. I'd rather score 5 and a pin than 2.

i hope everyone watching this realized this would never ever ever work irl

You may have noticed GSP use a similar knee pick to take hughes down twice at UFC 79.

i think GSP may be pragmatically the best wrestler regarding his TD/TD Defense in the UFC if not MMA. What do you think?
