Just got back from his show at Berkely, I am so dissapointed that I only really know Porcupine Trees music and not a whole lot of his solo stuff. But I gotta say I've seen some pretty awesome shows with some much heavier music but tonight mightve been my favorite show yet, just such great atmosphere, such outsanding mucisianship, and overall amazing performance, another thing I really like is that they didnt blast the sound so its all distorted it all sounded very clear and could hear every note
No, i agree with Steven Wilson on his opinions of iPods though, Music is meant to be shared and played as albums, not as individual pieces of art. A good analogy is taking a piece of fine art and ripping it into pieces, enjoying the pieces singularly is not what the artist intends for us to hear/see.
@AchiilezTheOne Well, of course he would disapprove, but I'm sure he also doesn't want his fans to carefully construct their words according to his bidding. I love Steven Wilson, his views on the music industry, and of course his music, but I think it's kind of silly how many people say "hey man Steven would kill you if he knew you were listening to his stuff on the internet." Surely he would support genuine individuality over conforming to a celebrity, which we all know Steven isn't.
@eKuL1995 You're reading too much into what I was saying. I wasn't talking about my stance, just Steven Wilson's. I have an ipod myself that I listen to on occasions and I disgree with Steven that every album should be listened to in one sitting especially if it's a non-concept albums with random songs with no meaning behind it. However, if I'm listening to anything by Steven, Porcupine Tree, Pink Floyd, etc. I tend to listen to the albums as a whole.
@AchiilezTheOne As a contribution to this conversation. I barely watch movies in one sitting. And I like listening to PT on the mp3 if only because you really feel the difference when you are listening to it from CD later. You feel rewarded for sitting down with it.
The person who disliked this holds their computer screen upside down and thought it was the thumbs up button. Either that or he's spiderman and hangs from the ceiling...
this song is so relaxing in its atmosphere, the music is purely creative and genius, and this is waaaaay better than the music coming out on the radio n mainstream
I mean, what would Randy Jackson from American Idol say? "Yo, yo dog, I don't get it, it didn't work for me" That's the difference between American Idol and the real world. This music takes me places I have never ever been. I even had to look underneath my bed..... anyone wanna crush an iPod?

my heart pounds, my chest tightens, as though my spirit were trying to leave my body as it clings desperately to keep it inside. That's what this music does to me.
