That's because the record label felt this version was too much like a movie soundtrack, and butchered to make it more commercial. This was Freddie Mercury's version. His true vision of it. That's why it's better :D

@ccpickre No, this is Roger's version. It was Freddie who then changed it into a more 'pop' version while Roger was away in LA. This version is interesting, but you can't say it's better than the finished version (which is awesome). The record company had nothing to do with it.

Hmmmm, the story I heard was that the record label didn't like the movie version and changed it.

But I do prefer the movie version more. I think it has better emotion and feeling to it.

It's very close the same tune (A major) as it should but not exactly. It's just a little bit out of tune in some reason

Yup, this is the "movide version". The album version is more commonly known and that's why many ppl think this is some kind of early edit...

It's actually how Roger originally wrote it. when he went on holiday, Freddie re-arranged it and added the bassline (from Keep Passing The Open windows) to give the album version. so yes, it is the early version, also used on the film.

Is it just me, or does the audio sound a little bit faster than normal? Plus Freddie's voice seems unnaturally pitched higher than normal? As if the speed of the audio was sped up a bit.
