Maggie Sansone, the musician playing here says this composition and rhythms are based on and inspired by Arabic and Persian music -played on a Nick Blanton Forte Chromatic Hammered dulcimer with extra bridges and pedal dampers (long wooden bars with felt and operated with foot pedal).
I wasn't making fun of your video - re-read my comment please. I was praising it, not critisizing it. I was basically saying your people should know how to play it because it originated from your area of the world.. I love this style of music. Sheesh, if that can't be taken as praise, what can.
i just wanted to make it clear for you that not all persians like to play the santoor because we also have other great instruments like setar, tonbak, nay, khamancheh but i personally love santoor and i play santoor. so i rlly did not get your comment if like an instrument originated in your area do u expect all the people in your hometown to know how to play that instrument? i don't think so veryone has a different taste in music, so i don't think your comment even made sense
and by the way this is not a persian dulcimer ours looks different and has differnt structure and ours has 72 stings and this is not a persian hammered dulcimer.
Ragdoll was honoring the fact that the modern hammered dulcimer originated in ancient Persia, as HD players know. We are fascinated by the sound of the santour. Nowhere did he/she imply any disrespect. Chill out.
hey i didn't say a bad thing i just said that not all persians play santur. he said persians should kno how to play it but he doesn't knowthat beside santur we also have other grat instruments its not all santur u know
we do not. ok i'm sorry for my comment but this is not really a persian improvisation. it has parts of it but if u look at ours its different and i don't find my comments offensive because i stated my opinion politley eventhough i did not get ragdoll's intension so don'tgive these comments to me because most persians are nice including me.
Maggie is playing a hammered dulcimer. See the previous comments for more details.
