@grisknack yes he's Al Pitrelli.He played with Cooper on albums "Trash" and "Hey Stoopid" and on the DVD "Trashes The World". and with Megadeth in years 2000 - 2002 and you can see him on the DVD "Rude Awakening". I knew this, because I follow him from the performance with Cooper.

The two guitarists are Chris Caffery (Savatage, Doctor Butcher, TSO East, Solo) and Al Pitrelli (Savatage, Alice Cooper, Asia, Megadeth, TSO West). Caffery toured with Savatage for Hall of the Mountain King, played guitar for Gutter Ballet, and stayed with them from Dead Winter Dead onwards.

actually if you think about it: look up a modern live performance and they are recorded off camera phones with at most 8megapixels with a vga camera recording- vga meaning basic.

anything from the early 90's was recorded onto a proper camcorder which clearly is better quality.

Guys quit lamenting Savatage and enjoy Jon Oliva's Pain which is the closest thing to Savatage were gonna get anyway. Mentallyurs said it best "It's All About Chris Oliva, Period!!!!" Maniacal Renderings has a lot of Criss' old riffs Jon found stored away for years. Criss lives on and was so damn criminally underrated.

I read an interview where Jon Oliva said 'all the guys know it's Savatage (refering to TSO) we just don't call it that' and 'we had the sound, but no one was buying it (when it was called Savatage) This is and example where a certain way of marketing worked, and another didn't.

Most parts of the band made career with their project: Trans Sibirian Orchestra and they have a lot of performances during the years, so they have no time or energy for Savatage.

When you need to hear something new, listen to "Jon Olivas Pain"...this is more Savatage than the band itself at the moment.

The band members are having more comercial success with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Project. At the moment they have no big plans for Savatage, but they want to relase some DVD compilation stuff and make one more anniversary tour. You can listen by now Circle II Circle band with the singer of this video, they have very savatage taste on their last album "Burden Of Truth" (2006). I Full recomend the album.
