i have done a few minutes of research, this is what i got.
Dragons did breath fire, but as a side effect, acid was created too. which decomposed their bones. (Marco Polos account)
Dragons fire breathing was hydrogen gas, created in their 4 stomachs(like cows)
The hydrogen gave them extra lift (birds do that today) so their wings didnt need to be so huge.
if you look at the evidence and the fact that we thought gorrilas were a myth, you could have a creature extict or perhaps still alive.
