  • A relaxing song with awesome guitar solo`s...NICE! :)

  • dark side of the moon is 3rd best seller for a reason love pink floyd rock on!

  • 12 year old girl here... This songs amazing:)

  • I was hearing this when I was on shrooms for the second time!! I've promised myself to wait until the next trip before I start to listen it in daily life, but this song I just needed to hear again, to be reminded of the trip and because this song is just utterly beautiful, gifts by God, one of the world wonders of music

  • Being high and listening to this is GODLY! But being sober and listening to this is GODLY!

  • PINK FLOYD'S CORE COMFORTABLY NUMB

  • it's nice to see a suggested video list with only good music

  • This song gives me the chills, such beauty.

  • every time i come here i always see two types of comments. Either "i listen to this when i was on [insert drug] " or "i was hearing this when[painful experience"]" originality here is amazing. i was listening to this when i ripped my own eyes out from the comments ... (still a good song)

  • i always think of the movie the departed when i hear this song, thats where i discovered it

  • I listen to it everytime when i do Hookah XD - fine combination !

  • wa hadchi mzian 3ndek

  • Seriously people this song is about shooting up with heroin. Just listen to the lyrics. "just a little pinprick." "your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying" "I have become comfortably numb."

  • @NYCgirl162

According to a Rolling Stone interview, the inspiration was a doctor irresponsibly loading Roger Waters up with (medicinal) drugs before a show. Waters could hardly move for the two hours he was on stage, and it made a big impression on him.

  • @NYCgirl162

And if you think about it, the lyrics support that interpretation, both by specific lines and the fact that it seems to be a dialogue.

  • Roger totally sounds like Stewie Griffin when he says "Good" at 3:05 :) I love this song

  • my boyfriend said he hated this song. he's single now.

    jussst kidding!

    He's dead.

  • PF makes me comfortably numb every single time I hear them

  • your all wrong this song is about insulin. when he was a child he had a fever that caused his hands and face to swell .. so the doctors injected him with insulin to keep the swelling down and reduce pain ...

  • @harlilee that part is perhaps about insulin, but he's comparing that feeling to being on sedative drugs as an adult as the sensation was similar.

  • I just ate a green apple and went into a different world.

  • this song is about when there guitarist (cant remeber his name bad at names) was injected by tranquilizer by a "doctor" to help him deal with hepitituas one something like that. he had to play the whole show while barely being able to lift his arm. the doctor was a sleazy doctor of course. in fact the whole album the wall is dedicated to the guitarist. menat to be listen to in a row and it is a story

  • this song is one he wrote while on drugs, and its mostly about how his father beat him as a child, and his feelings of being on something like heroine or meth and loving the numb feeling it gave him and he became Comfortably Numb

  • I listen to this song when im on xanax mostly

  • Difficulty Level: Awesome

  • Many people think that Comfortably Numb is just popular and the really best songs of Pink Floyd are songs like SOYCD, Interstellar Overdrive and stuff like that. But what they fail to consider is the amazing peace like feeling it induces when it is full of violence (come on, the song is about drugs, distorted childhood and mental disorders). That the sheer awesomeness that Floyd is...... And its reflected most in this song.

  • definately my favorite pink floyd song, sober or not

  • i just smoked a big joint..now i will lie down to listen to this song... :D

    im so happy

  • @MrLolol1004 ure just what the song is talking about.its not just music its a lesson

  • Its all about drugs!

  • @Ashroncyrus double thumbs up

  • You'd think that this would be a song you could fall asleep to because it's so beautiful and soothing, but because it's so awesome, you can't sleep but just listen.

  • @AGreenSkies I couldn't agree more

  • I hadn't grabbed my guitar in some weeks, hearing this particular song made me grab it and play it again

  • @MrBemba8 thats what she said

  • This was the first song I memorized when I was 4.

  • guess what part of my body i nicknamed Pink Floyd ;D

  • If it's about syd Barrett then who sung this?

  • @StreetCoasterz It isn't about Syd Barrett, and I think David Gilmour sings it

  • oh dude. im so high right now.

  • It's good that movies are spreading good music.

  • I heard that the guy who sung this literally eats crap off the sidewalk on a normal basis

  • the departed brought me here

  • @Scorpy6751 I brought me here.

  • hey i just noticed, the first solo is to the chords of the chorus, and the second solo is to the chords of the verses, ha

  • ...52 hearing impaired!!!!!!!!

  • @papfelice1 I am hearing impaired you fool, and I love this song.

  • I feel like jumping off the couch with a towel and try to parachute like I did as a kid . . .

  • i think its also about syd barrett

  • Best song to listen to when you are high on ganja

  • i love how when introducing this song to two friends who hadn't heard of it or pink Floyd they both instantly said the same thing. "makes you feel so chilled and melty" yes... yes it does

  • I hate the fact that I can relate to every word in this song.

  • One word to describe his voice...ethereal.

  • lol i was hearing this when i gave blood

  • @gunguy9mm HAHAHAHHAAH that made my day xD I should so do that lol, whats hilarious is that i can so picture someone giving blood at the same time to hearing this song hahaha xD

  • @gunguy9mm How cool. I was listening to this while I was collecting the blood of 100 virgins to bathe in and prolong my youth.

  • Such a great song!!!

  • Nodding away to this song is always enjoyable.

  • swim just shot some heroin to this song and its my favorite song to numb up to.

  • Heard this for the first time today, and cried for a while ..

.. fucking great music. fuck my generation's music.

  • @saltypop13 I don't want to know what kind of sad rock you were living under that you've never heard this song until today. :(

    You have my sympathies.

  • @blaflz lol give me a break, apart from not hearing this song since the other day i do actually have pretty good tastes. I've been a fan of pink floyd for a while

  • the second guitar solo is comparable to an orgasm

  • @snelson5871 an orgasm s almost as good as the second solo

  • Its about drugs and battling with mental illness.

  • The only pink I like is PINK FLOYD!!! \m/

  • @Mrsteddyz I couldn't agree more. So much of todays music beats you over the head. This music and much of older music gets into your head and often tells meaningful stories.

  • hydrocodoneeeeeeee

  • 50 people have never been comfortably numb .... you should try it !!!

  • Best song ever it doesnt matter what you say

  • Eargasm at 5:48

  • oh man that musics take my head pain out

  • Some of the best lyrics ever written, drugs or not!

  • roger waters ftw!

  • great song for a stoner haha

  • i love this song so much, it reminds me of my grandad when i hear it, and his death, and it brings me to tears everytime

  • I find this relatively easy to masturbate too. :) Pink floyd ftw!

  • It is about a drug. Sorry to tell you, but it is. It's about when Roger Waters had to perform (while the concept for The Wall was being made) while on tranquilizers. You can look it up, it's all fact. It's about tranquilizers.

  • @Lockstep290 While I knew from just the song it was about an opiate of some kind. I feel like it does not matter, the song can be about a good deal of drugs not just tranqs. I felt a comfortable euphoria on LSD and this song takes me back to the great feelings I had on that. All the same amazing song a classic piece that will be enjoyed by minds both young and old for many years to come.

  • I used to be comfortably numb once, then i took an arrow in the knee.

  • love this song!

  • Masterpiece!

  • This song is bizarre

  • It's about the singer overdosing on muscle relaxants, actually.

  • @blaflz um? no it's not at all actually, david never struggled with drug problems, and syd , the original singer (R.I.P.) couldn't continue to tour with floyd because he took too much acid and literally fried his brain, nothing to do with muscle relaxants.

  • @keepthrashalive syd went schizo. same thing with peter green. yeah, the song is about drugs, nothing else.

  • @somenoobz watch the documentary dude.

  • @keepthrashalive "The Singer" being Pynk, the titular character of The Wall. I should have perhaps used narrator; however I am fully aware that David never had drug problems. That was not the context I spoke of.

  • i love the feeling of letting yourself melt away within a song.

  • @XHaileyXkoalaX during the second solo...

  • i remember they played this at my school dance in 8th grade. i was jumping up and down and cheering while every one else was like "what the hell is this??"

  • The song is about pain. And is a great description of going from that agony to the initial rush and sick feeling of painkillers, and finaly once the rush and nausa subside, you become comfortably numb.

  • this song leaves a warm feeling its amazing.masterpiece

  • While it is completely foolish to say that this song was written 'about' drugs (The Wall is about isolation, and its pretty clear where this fits in); this song [coincidentally] describes my experiences with morphine very accurately. :3

  • @zombiiebiitchxxx And the bit where it's like 'the child is grown' fits into Pink running away from his mother.

  • didnt they make this song talking about Syd Barrett?

  • Heroin.

  • This song is pretty much all about heroin, even tho it is awesome on acid, especially camping with friends in the forest, good times, good times :)

  • didn't Scissor Sisters do a song called Comfortably Numb too??

  • Great Ambin song

  • obviously it is about heroin... and you say 49 people were on drugs shit, im pretty sure every druggy loves this song hahaha, i got a needle full right now this is my song to do it to every time.. i love it.. comfortably numb baby..<3

  • @hibrandon33 Same here brother

  • @xSoWxShadow hell yeah man , nothin better in the world haha

  • 49 people were on drugs

  • I want this song to be played at my funeral.

  • That second solo = one of the best solos ever.

  • did he write " 2nd guitaar solo taweeeeeell "

    enta masry wla eh ?

  • thats how i feel like when im out of heroin, half dead and my body slowly melting rotting away.

  • @BabyKaaye yea it's about heroin. You should watch Pink Floyd: The Wall. Good movie

  • is this song about drugs? because if you listen closely to the lyrics, you can kind of tell.

  • pink floyd > todays shitty club music

  • @MrYeahIdidThat *pink floyd > all music from 1980 on

  • If you guys have ever listened to The Wall, this is about the character Pink, a rocker, who is worn-down by his life (as well as a mental breakdown). The only thing that can keep him going is massive amounts of drugs. Most Pink Floyd songs (at least ones from Wish You Were Here until The Final Cut) are PART of a story, not just a song. Listen to the whole album. The songs make a lot more sense.

  • I freakin Love this song

  • I don't give a fuck if this song is about drugs or a fever, enjoy the music.

  • Nice song! But I'm saddened by the heroin use encouragement :-(

  • @kimbothebimbo805 i don't think it's about heroin, and i don't think it's encouraging it. i think that's how you feel when you're trippin' on acid, is what he's singing about. i don't know, i could be wrong, all i know is that it's an amazing song.

  • @KDR466

it became for me, pretty clear it was about H when he mentioned the pin prick and it being just enough to get through the show. Also, while I've never shot heroin, I've done a line of Oxycotin or two, and comfortably numb, and maybe a little sick is pretty much the perfect description for the high. Thank God I ALWAYS puked when i did it, and stopped doing it after 3-4 times. I like partying as much as the next guy, but I generally live my life trying not to vomit

  • @punkshaman yeah, i didn't think about the pin prick, but i think you can shoot up acid too, i don't know. and i can't ever take oxycotin again. bad, bad things i did.

  • its not about drugs.. read ROLLING STONES..

  • @502centsnsumchange it is to about drugs i don't give a rats ass wnat you read in that rag.i lived int

  • this is great. and it is talking about drugs. and the whole time they are tripping acid. so yeah...you dont get numb and have baloon hands from not doing drugs, just saying. and if youve ever been to there concert you would know. hhaha

  • @cupcakediamondbaybii Its about when the singer was a boy, he had a bad fever and he cant remember much... Try google it'll teach you something (Y)

  • This song was playing in my dentist office the other day when I had a root canal....bahaha

  • @cbcrog hahaah that is a perfect song as the novacaine sets in..... haha relaxin

  • its about shooting insulin not heroin

  • @m0n0xide20 and they are trippin. but its not insulin. insulin doesnt makeyou relax and shit.

  • Rolllinnnnn

  • Definitely better than the Jewel version

  • This song makes me want to do heroin...

  • @Sissy950 Honestly try out dope, if you smoke weed why not snort dope. its the best feeling without a bad comedown and you dont feel braindead like you do afer you smoked weed all day

  • the funny thing about this song besides its EPICNESS....is its not even about drugs x)

  • @sambozoukov It's a song, it can be about whatever you want.

  • @sambozoukov yes is it its about how a member of the band took a near overdose and still managed to go on with the show

  • @jameybmadman

dude look it up...they were tired on after there world tour so Gilmour took an adreniline shot.

  • @sambozoukov He's right...

  • @sambozoukov yes it is.. it is about the singer over dosing on drugs.. if youve watched the movie "the wall" you would understand what exactly the song is about.

  • @sambozoukov well, it actually is but not like you think. He's talking about a guy ( not himself) who is given drugs and is well, COMFOTABLY NUMB

  • @sambozoukov Its not about drugs but it accurately describes the effects of someone on thyrozine

  • @sambozoukov um yeah it is about drugs... It's about the time Waters was injected with tranquilizers before a show due to stomach cramps... so this song is completely about drugs!

  • @god1425 I thought it was about when he was sick as a child? Oh the mystery. I still feel like a song can be about what you want it to anyway

  • @sambozoukov It is about drugs watch The Wall ;)

  • @sambozoukov its about heroin withdrawal :o

  • Pink Floyd is like an older version of dubstep maybe not as much this song but listen to the others. But this one is my favorite probably.

  • This music is great why can't they do this to modern day music. Listen to Justin beiber and compare it to this modern day music has not talent all it is rap that is generated by computers and some skinny black guy singing... anyone can do that i see it in church all the time. My favorite part is defiantly the lead.

  • Don't you love it when a certain song that you've heard time and time again give you chills and makes your hair stand up every single time you hear it?

Well, this song does that for me. .\m/ >.< \m/.

  • Anyone know where I can find a decent tab to this song?

  • @Steffybabes99

Try checking out the webste (ww w. songsterr. c om) and look for the comfortably numb tab on there in the search engine. It helped me when I was learning. Other than that.... I use youtube as my teacher. Lol

  • MADRE DE DIOS !!!!!

HOY Y SIEMPRE UNA BELLA CANCÍON

    ME ENCANTA

  • Linda *------------*

  • The Best Song Ever <3 by The Best Band Ever <3

  • i do believe its working... goood bet part

  • David Gilmour's guitar is out of the world. But in my opinion, it's his voice that really draws me. Throughout his entire career, from early Floyd and later with his solo stuff and On an Island. No autotune, if anything just slight chorus like during this song. Man. I can't get enough of it.

  • 48 people....... ummmm...can go fuck themselves :)

  • @alexhazeful I'm glad to see that you understand so well that not all people share your tastes.

  • @1337DementedOne ah, you must be one of the 48 people with ballsacks instead of heads, what an honour

  • you gotta wonder why people listen to that dubstep shit when there is pink floyd to listen to instead

  • People say that God listens to Eric Clapton everyday, because he is so good. Well guess, what? Chuck Norris listens to Pink Floyd everyday.

  • hungover as shit, but this song is helping

  • Thank god old rock is dead. Total shit.
