  • On February 13th, 1961 "What About Me" entered Billboard Hot Top 100 for one week and peaked at No. 100!!!

  • This song was left off the "Legend in My Time" CD!! What an oversight! Thanks for posting. Love this song!!

  • saw DON IN LONDON A GREAT SINGER SONG WRITER GOD BLESS HIM RI P THOMAS HAVERSTOCK

  • This is a great don Gibson sing a long, so many of his songs must appeal to closet singers like me! Long live Don Gibson , many thanks for all these great posts. The best thing that ever came from America is Country music! I love it all!

  • Really great!

  • Chet Atkins surrounded Don Gibson's lyric genius with the best musicians and backup singers Nashville could offer. What's hard to realize today is that Gibson had huge problems with drugs and alchohol that defeated his live performances. What we have to remember him by are his marvelous RCA recordings from the sixties.

  • The highlights of the 60's musically for me was the next Robbins, Reeves or Gison 45 or album.

  • @tarquin45 I pretty much agree but then I was also buying Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Earnest Tubb, Hank Snow, Hank Locklin, Merl Haggard, Faron Young, Skeeter Davis, Wanda jackson, Jean Sheperd, I pretty much loved all the country singers then, theres loads more I never mentioned!

  • Why wasnt this guy known more??? I dont understand why he wasnt truly recognized for his music genius until his latter years or upon his death. What did he do that he wasnt on TV or in the entertainmnet industry. I'd like to find out more about his life.

  • @jkoolful . I'm happy enough to be proud I bought Don's music in his lifetime and we should all be happy that Don and all the other great singers now live on- forever enshrined here on YOU TUBE- Long live this format! thanks for all this great music.

  • @jkoolful His publicist let him down.He was the greatest song writer AND SINGER OF HIS TIME BUT BEVER GOT THE PUBLISITY (SELLING) HE DESERVED

  • ALL of DONS were the BEST!!! Great memories from this ,I was an Air Force disk jockey when this came out. Another Great by the GREAT DON

  • This one and "Sea of heartbreak" are my absolute number ones by Don - thanks for posting it!

  • Great song. First time I've heard it from him. I can't remember the other singer who sung this one. Even if I don't remember the first singer who sung this, Don's version is as good as it gets. Very nice song. Thanks.

  • Like everything Don ever wrote, this is GREAT. Thanks!

  • Definitely one of Don's best. Thanks for giving it an airing.
