@FrakCentral - Bell came good when it mattered in the Ashes '09. We just didn't realise how valuable his 72 in the first innings at the Oval would be until we saw Australia skittled by Stuart Broad. Add in the runs he made with Collingwood to save the Cape Town Test and he is ready, I think, to enter his peak years as a Test batsman.

Ian bell is one of the most technically sound players in the game, Alistar Cooks problem is that his hands go before his head does. Fantasic hand eye co-ordination but what happens when his eyes go he has nothing to fall back, just like Tresco. Bell on the other hand has much the better footwork and makes batting look so much easier than it actually is. They shouldnt have dropped him shah.

Well the stats beg to differ. Cook, despite his technical deficiency has scored more runs than Bell at a better average. Whereas Bells good technique means nothing if he can't score runs.

Cook allways bat's like that. He had trouble because eh had never faced MCgrath before this series but against India and PAkistan he has played match saving sought of innings. It's in his favour now that if he can do that against Mcgrath and Warne away, next ashes on home turf he is going to have it a bit easier I should think. Cook will score 10000 runs I'm sure of it, he has 1000 and is only 22.
