@mynameisyakuba The real reason why they had to cancel it was because, up until 2009, Sony was making the cartoon. In 2009, Sony gave the Spider-Man animation rights back to Marvel. Then Marvel was bought by Disney in December 2009. Disney and Sony agreed to air Season 2 but it had to be cancelled because it was no longer being made by Sony. It sucks but it's the truth.

One of the things I always dug about this series was that it tried to bring a new layer of cultural diversity to the cast. Yes, Pete was the same, Harry was the same, but even Gwen seemed, I don't know, more Jewish? There we also African American characters and even Hispanic characters, i.e. Liz Allen (an originally white character even in the current USM) It felt like the first Spider-Man that really tried to bring the Mythos into the 21st century. (Sigh) Figures Disney would can it...

@FlameAmigo619 You have to keep in mind that his character is based off what the show's creative director wants. If Greg Weisman wanted him to have a higher, voice cracking tone, he's going to go by that. Given his insane range, if JAT wanted to go normal, or do a more even pitch, it would have been simple enough. Sometimes though, it's not the actor who decides what sounds best, especially in animation.

I would think that part of the reason it was cancelled is that the character and the show are from a competing company. Remember that Marvel comics is owned by Disney now, and that probably didn't sit with the corporate heads of Warner Brothers.

@bbphnix I think it's just the animation and the fact that the story is takes place when he's in high school opposed to ESU. Parker also shows a lot of responsibility as a hs student taking a job to take care of financial problems, which could be a factor. In a lot of ways it's the same as the animated series, but again just that he's in hs and the animation makes it look kiddish. I thought it wasn't gna be good, but I really enjoy this as much as the animated series
