oh my god it's the sexiest performance I've ever seen. Ian is just so handsome and sexy, I can't even tell how I was hypnotised with this. 7 minutes of pure sexiness.
If you like this then you will like the band I manage, The Ran-Tan Waltz.. Hyped by NME, major support slots last/this year, 2 big London shows coming up in April. New EP released on Philophobia Records etc... Vids on the youtube profile x
Let's see neo psychedelic punk era or today's hip-hop and the low state rock and roll is in today(2009).................give me '78-92 anytime......music like this actually meant something....
Incredible performance by a great band. You really feel the 60's garage and Velvets influences here. Ian's solo at about 2:10 is straight off of the Banana album.
I had to be a drug addict for 15 years to finally realize the importance of this song. I made it...sober now 3 years...freedom at last! WAY COOL ECHO!!
yep...you are right...he does sort of suck now and it is his own stupid fault for smoking and boozing it up.....looks like he would take better care of himself if he plans to keep performing.
WHoo Hoo! Just learned the bunnymen are doing a full US tour next year! I have invited them to stay at my house if they get to my city! Guess where Ians sleeping?
i mean i guess it's not such a dumb question or assumption either to think it may be about masturbation doing it clean you know what i mean? don't call me stupid if this is a stupid question
It's funny to hear this band called "ahead of their time." In the late 70s/early 80s, their late 60s influences were so apparent that they were referred to as part of a "psychedelic revival." The band themselves cited the Doors as a major influence.
mabbe so ,but many american 60s bands were influenced by the beatles and other british bands so you could say it came full circle, then again the beatles were influenced by american pioneers like buddy holly and skiffle originally amongst others, dont think any band thats hasnt been influenced from what came before
echo and the bunnymen had there roots coming out of erics, the punk venue in liverpool ,with the likes of teardrop explodes julian cope, wah heat with pete whylie.pete burns and other liverpool groups stemmed from that era,ive never heared of the bunnymen part of a psychedelic revival, late 70s early 80s in england the scene was dominated mainly by the two tone, ska ,mod revival, and new wave bands, before new romantics,so to many, echo and the bunnymen were doing things differently, their way
Not Ravi! Ravi plays sitar, this is L. Shankar who worked with Peter Gabriel, Yoko Ono et al. He's no relation to Ravi, so do not confuse him with Norah Jones...
he seems always to strip off for this song.

he still is............aged and mellowed, but still so sexy. He and Jon Bon Jovi have both aged very well.

Ian's voice, meanwhile, is ruined. Check out some of the recent live material. His chain smoking has really hurt his vocals.

Yeah, at first I thought of it as sexual (yeah, that's my mind for ya) but then I got the jist.
I guess it can be interpreted anyway anyone likes. The best songs are universal, right?
aquestionofkelly 3 years ago
i like our interpretation better...SEX...surely better than herion, right?
bunnEgirl 3 years ago 3
Haha yeah. Sex is much less deadly that herion...sort of.
Feels cooler!

Its about doing heroin. The lyrics are originally " I've got a hand full of shit..." , shit being street slang for heroin.
