  • Got tired of honda..

  • I love Hondas. I used to have 2 1988 Preludes, one with 4WS. I have a turbo RSX-S that I Love

  • Honda is great. I have a turbo RSX-S

  • like the car but major brake issue

  • @superstar436 How so? Fade? I know the Accord fades quickly.

  • He's dressed like a Honda salesman like in the Commercials.

  • I might be getting this car in November or December!

  • beautiful car!!!

  • This car is decent but it has a lot of flaws. The interior definitely feels really cheap in places and the handling and acceleration is actually worse than its predecessor.

  • LOVEEEEEEEEE THIS CAR

  • So Byist!!!!!!!!! This guy is Hondas Salsmen

  • @etoyotarockshsucks Learn how to spell, *Biased, He actually has knowledge, that Japanese engineering will remain better then US simple as that.

  • If Honda ever made this car RWD, I would never look at any other car

  • Simply the best in its class.

  • I hate my accord. The front seats are miserable. Sure it handles great for a big car, but I can't stand sitting in it for longer than 20 minutes. The headrests stick into the back of your head and the lumbar support is tied into the active head restraint system. My left leg goes numb and my neck is permanently in pain.

Oddly the back seats are comfortable, I would much rather be driven in my accord than drive it.

  • I have 2005 Accord and could not ask for more

  • @njnikusha Ijust gat 2009 HONDA ACCORD.....Man! its awesome

  • Typical CR, shrilling for the Japanese.

  • Great car but hate the front end design...especially the gigantic headlights which belong on a bus not a car.

  • @spam91504 that's the part that i like the most in my 2010 Honda Accord, I don't like the back much.

  • @Polarcupcheck

Couldn't agree more with you.....there are some poeople even AutoMoto magazines that will put cars ahead on tests if they have more equipment, never mind faults on the engine or fuel pump on 40000 miles, the other one looks better and has a better finish.......!!!! WTF

Yes equipment does matter but its not the primary thing to look for when buying a car

    Engine->Drivetrain->Body->Equipment/Looks.......

  • Can't someone make a simple car these days that looks good? Am I the only one who wants quality paint, engine, electrical and transmission. Start there, please. Need a new manufacturer called P.E.E.T., everything else ala carte.

Get rid of power seats, power windows, lamp out modules, stupid computers, and other cheap gadgets that will break.

  • can't beat honda when it comes to consistency you can always be sure you're getting a good car

  • hey "coandcaiv" ur rite

honda and toyota still leadin the charts, but hyundai n kia r commin stron now. their cars r pretty close to its japanese competitors, they r makin good cars, specially hyundai.

the sonata, fanta fe, genesis, both the sedan n coupe. and the elantra..

  • i have a 2008 4 cylinder.. loaded.. great car

  • damn, folks arguing about what's a better car.

the better car is the one you like that gives you what you paid for.

i LIKE the honda accord, ex-l v6...so much my wife and i bought it last week. it looks more exciting TO US than any other car. more powerful than the toyota, and a great ride.

the quality is there, otherwise consumer reports (and all others) wouldnt rave about it.

nothing against the hyundai, but it isnt a honda FOR US.

oh yeah, we saved THOUSANDS buying in fall.

  • I just bought an Accord EX-L today and i will pick up on tuesday, I´m so excited.

  • thats exciting let me know how it goes

  • The North American Honda Accord is actually the stripped version of the Japanese luxury sedan Honda Inspire. The Acura TSX is the real Accord that is sold in Japan and in Europe.

  • I forgot to mention that my supposedly cheapo Kia Optima is finished with better quality. The trunk is lined, unlike Accord's and it uses modern trunk hinges that don't crush your bread as this guy illustrates, lol. If Honda cut corners in such obvious ways, it really makes ya wonder how they cut corners under the skin where it's not so obvious. Totally not worth an extra $4k base price. Crazy people will pay anything for a badge. Marketing is an amazing thing.

  • The Accord is superior to the Kia in handling, power, resale value, and, in my opinion, looks.

  • The Accord is known for inferior ride quality. Watch the reviews. My Optima rides great. I love it. As I mentioned, the Optima is superior in less obvious ways, not to mention you save thousands at purchase. I would expect the Accord to be nothing less than better since it costs so much more. Otherwise you're getting really ripped off. I'm sure Kia could build an even superior Optima if it cost $4k more than the Accord. Kia is smarter than that. Honda is pricing themselves out of consideration.

  • inferior ride quality?...lmfao...show me 1...yes...i just want one fact showing it has bad ride quality....i happen to own 2 accords...and they ride excellent...but then again i know NOTHING available in this world can compare with your sweet mercury tracer LOOOL

  • Funny you should ask. On some of the Hyundai Sonata reviews on youtube, people have commented that they test drove the Sonata and Accord and prefer the ride quality of the Sonata. Accord rides hard according to them. Not to mention one of the reviewers says it himself. You were saying? Dude, drop the Mercury Tracer BS. I haven't owned that car in a year. Get over it, move on already.

  • ive been in a sonata..they ride smoother then accords in my opinion...but give up in handling...thats just how it is......you cant have great handling and a superb ride...u have to pick and choose what fits u best...great handling or great ride.....

  • True. I don't drive like I'm in a race car, so I prefer a softer, smoother ride. These days most cars have anti-roll bars to keep the car flat in turns. You notice them working mostly when taking a broad sweeping turn at higher speeds, like entering/exiting the freeway on the ramp or on winding country roads. That feeling of flatness is what makes a car feel like it handles well. Not a lot of body roll. I haven't driven Sonata yet, just my Optima, which is sprung firmer. It handles great.

  • i would like to own both..camry and accord...camry for long trips...accords for anything else

  • I just read consumer reports review on reliability for '09 models. Accord and Camry rank below Ford Fusion. Hyundai/Kia ranked with Toyota and Honda. So why would you want Accord and Camry so much? They're not remotely sexy, fun to drive, or affordable. It's beyond me why anyone would buy either at this point in time. They cost more, but you don't get more.

  • while i value your knowledge....you have to keep this in mind ....honda and toyota have over 2 decades of reliability TOP RELIABILITY...under their belts....ford kia hyundai..may have 1 year..maybe 2...but you cant say they are as good as a honda/toyota...until the car has proven this over years and miles.....im sure you can understand this

  • So you don't think it's possible for a company like Toyota or Honda to make an unreliable car? I had an '88 Camry way back when and it ranks in the bottom 3 of the 7 cars I've owned to date. It was terribly expensive to keep running. I sold it and bought an '85 Volvo. Much less problematic. If I were to buy a new Camry or Accord, it wouldn't matter if every car they've made in the past 20yrs has been tops in reliability if the year and model I buy is junk. Like I said, consumer reports spoke.

  • your statement was kinda foolish considering you base an entire companys reliability on a single car they made....i also owned an 88 camry...sure it wasnt new at 223k but it did the job and the a/c even still worked in it.....i also owned a 84 toyota tercel...and its been the without a doubt most reliable car i have ever been in ..period....by far

  • No no, I was responding to what YOU said about Toyota and Honda having 20yrs of reliable cars under their belt. That is simply not true. I owned one. It was junk. Period. MY best car was a Plymouth. So what's your point? You're obviously very biased, so you're subjective opinion means nothing to me. I've owned Mercedes, Volvo, 2 Fords, Toyota, 3 Chryslers, and now a Kia. You're just as bad as the MB fans I argue with who are so terrible biased as well. It's like a cult. Creepy.

  • honestly, i could care less about your opinion..because your "opinion" on cars..whether it be honda toyota kia or w/e...you take the approach that one or so years worth of good cars from a company completely blows away another car companys reputation for great cars ...simply because you say they do....dude get your head out of your ass and start making some sense to me..or this convo is over

  • My point keeps going over your head, and that's the real problem. It is 2009. I does not mean squat if Honda and Toyota made great cars 20yrs ago. (which I don't believe anyway). People are not buying those cars, and THAT is the point. The quality if their cars NOW is the point. Honda Toyota do not rank on top these days. Get that through your thick head.

  • you are sadly mistaken my friend....toy/honda still rule the charts....i would seriously love to see kia and hyundai get up there with them....but only because i hate american cars...and volkswagen really do make shitty ass cars....so go kia honda toyota and hyundai!! ..fuck the rest for all i care

  • lol thick head eh?...well you must be alot smarter then me...i mean....geez, u dont see me putting mods on a mercury tracer...and if i was i sure as hell wouldnt let the public know haha...no offense...im just saying dude..

  • noo.. but in 10 years those cars that are at the top of the list now will be dead and off the road, while the hondas will still be running like champs. That is because the engineers over at honda care about quality and not just nice flashy cars that turn a profit.

  • you speak the truth young man...hondas last for a very very long time

  • its ok to bash the top dogs...its gonna happen ...and thats how its gonna be....ever one climbs for the top...and haters will hate...nothing against kia and hyundai...i like them alot...but they are still no toyota or honda ...that takes time....and time is something u cant buy

  • If I honestly thought Toyota and Honda were as great as their reputation suggests, I'd have no reason to hate on them. Based what I've heard from actual owners that I know personally, I'm not impressed. I prefer to root for the underdog like Hyundai/Kia who are actually making good cars now at (and even above, according to CR) Honda and Toyota levels. VW people think their cars are the best thing since sliced bread, but every owner survey says otherwise. They have some of the lowest ratings.

  • there is a difference from being biased and being bitten off too hard....i wasnt biased until i had my fair share of piece of shit american cars...thats when i turned to japanese cars and never looked back....every american car i have owned has had 3 to 4x as many problems as the jap cars i have owned...thats not biased speaking..thats facts..

  • and whether or not you think toyota/honda isnt the best company out there....you can never deny there top rankings for decades.....your opinion means absolutely nothing when the companys have a 1 and 2 spot of the boards....zero..zip..nadda....its over dude...accept the fail and move on

  • if you want to be really technical on reliability...i might have to say the ford festiva my mom had was the most reliable car i have been in ..but keep in mind that car had almost nothing to it except a engine and tranny...not even power steering or a tach....basically a bicycle with windows lol

  • fail

  • Yep, Honda is failing at maintaining there standing. People are starting to criticize them for being overpriced, not as reliable as their reputation suggests, and not even the best driving in their class. Beside that, Honda's fleet of cars are about as exciting to look at as household cleaning appliances. Honda people are even buying Hyundais these days. That makes me laugh. Fail indeed.

  • its not that honda is getting worst...its just that almost all automakers are getting better and better...making the gap closer...its not honda's fault that toyota and themselves having been whipping ass for decades ..literally....so fail on your part indeed ...everyone likes to play the "car guy"...u fail at it miserably

  • Whipped ass in what way? You're just a kid making stuff up, come on! The Taurus and Camry were the #1 selling family sedans in the 90's and beyond. You basically said that the competition is improving and Honda is not, otherwise how would the gap be closing? This conversation is getting completely retarded. Honda is no longer superior and they never have been in sales. Get over it.

  • you are right dude...after seeing you pimping out a mercury tracer....all cards have been laid out on the table

LMFAOOOO.....get real dude seriously...whatever respectable knowledge you just laid forth to me is now epicly failed by your tracer wizardry!

  • CR doesn't seem to take price into consideration. They say it's one of the best, but shouldn't it be with one of the highest price tags? These days not only do people expect a car that does its job well, but is also affordable. I'm actually surprised they regard this Accord so highly considering the '09 Hyundai Sonata also comes standard with stability control, ABS, active head rests, and many other safety features standard, not to mention better MPGs and near tops in reliability now.

  • I just bought one, Ex-L leather heated seats everything..it was alot less then everything else i looked at.

  • Did you even consider the Hyundai Sonata when you were shopping around? Beside the Kia Optima, which isn't as nice, the Sonata is the lowest priced car in its class. Feature for feature, you'll find you probably paid about $4k more for the Accord over a comparable Sonata. I'm pretty sure the Sonata loaded is about $26k.

  • Comment removed

  • Man, i got an ex-L with nav accord for $25k (before tax/tags 27k after). No complaints so far, and it's a far amount from the $30k you're claiming the accord costs.

  • EX-L starts at over $29k with nav. Accord prices range from the LX @ $22,500 up to the EX-L V6 with nav @ $31,800. Keep in mind these prices do not include any extra options. The equivalent to your Accord EX-L 4cyl. with nav is the Sonata Limited 4cyl. with nav, which stickers for $25,800. So you haggled $4k off the price of your Accord. Do that with the Sonata and you're looking at $21,800. :-)

  • @steve9509 me too. I just bought mine a week and a half ago. How do you feel about yours still?

  • Definitely the best midsized car out there for the money!

  • Hoping to afford one soon!

  • They give you every reason why you should buy it and I would... but then I remember performance cars and forget it!

  • i luv consumer reports. like i said on ma other cmt i got to buy dis car bc of consumer reports, its da best family car. its sporty n big, better dan camry n nissan... luv it
