He did get some things right, but he missed some major factors on how Detroit got so bad. What about that huge riot in 1967? A lot of people left Detroit in a short period of time after the riot. Did he even mention the crime? I think the big problem is that everyone who could afford to move out did, leaving only the poor people left. There is a lot to fix in Detroit, but I feel like its slowly getting better. I just hope I see it come back in my lifetime.
As someone who lives there I recognized a few of the shots were actually in Dearborn, a suburb of Detroit, but most of them were in Detroit. I have never seen an “urban farm” in the city. There are defiantly not bears in the city I am not sure if that was a joke. Detroit does have school of choice, and they changed a ton of their public schools to charter schools. Detroit is not all bad there are great parts of the city. There is a lot of slums in the city, but it’s not all bad.

Hey, I've got an idea, If the teachers and union workers are so costly then why don't we cut the medical, hospital and pharmaceutical costs to what they are in western Europe? This will surely lower labor costs & heck, I'm sure those providers (in the same spirit of digging in & doing their fair share) would be glad to reduce their profits to 300% or less. With lower labor costs, better vehicles will sell for the same price as cheap imports & urban ruin will stop due to higher employment too!

It is now a city of only 700,000, though the Detroit metro region, made up of over 200 suburban cities and townships, is home to around 5 million. The city has been failing for 60 years. And decades of unbending entitlements and liberalism have aggravated the challanges to breathtaking degrees.

He did get some things right, but he missed some major factors on how Detroit got so bad. What about that huge riot in 1967? A lot of people left Detroit in a short period of time after the riot. Did he even mention the crime? I think the big problem is that everyone who could afford to move out did, leaving only the poor people left. There is a lot to fix in Detroit, but I feel like its slowly getting better. I just hope I see it come back in my lifetime.

As someone who lives there I recognized a few of the shots were actually in Dearborn, a suburb of Detroit, but most of them were in Detroit. I have never seen an “urban farm” in the city. There are defiantly not bears in the city I am not sure if that was a joke. Detroit does have school of choice, and they changed a ton of their public schools to charter schools. Detroit is not all bad there are great parts of the city. There is a lot of slums in the city, but it’s not all bad.

Hey, I've got an idea, If the teachers and union workers are so costly then why don't we cut the medical, hospital and pharmaceutical costs to what they are in western Europe? This will surely lower labor costs & heck, I'm sure those providers (in the same spirit of digging in & doing their fair share) would be glad to reduce their profits to 300% or less. With lower labor costs, better vehicles will sell for the same price as cheap imports & urban ruin will stop due to higher employment too!
