  • What will this mean for UFO disclosure? I can't wait...

  • very nice work,I hope more companies or organizations follow in your footsteps. A cheap way of completing such a task as space travel will prove to be a pivitol role in our future history. hopefully the prices come down as I would love to travel beyond this rock.

  • I went into space in the 70's. But it was in my basement while listening to the Beatles. I think it was better for the environment. It was certainly cheaper.

  • @guitartec why spend millions on rocket fuel when you can get a sack of weed or shrooms for 30 bucks!!!!

  • @lesouder2222 My sentiment exactly man! For the price this dude charges, maybe you get a real virgin on the trip. :)

  • @guitartec LOL! you get 72 of them in the heavens, except you get to come back to earth and live for a while, and you don't have to fallow Islam.

  • well done sir well done!

  • Sir Richard, count on seeing me up there!! That is near the top of my bucket list!

    Timothy

    :o)

  • i cant fuckin wait

  • much better than a big rocket design used by nasa. this one takes so little effort to get into space

  • *.*.*.Suggestion: Space Frieght*.*.*.

    That is all

  • I can't wait!!!! I'd pay $6,000 per ticket right now no questions asked sign me UP!!!!

  • Can anyone else hear the Star Trek theme song in the background?

  • Will it be possible at some point to fit an auxiliary power source to enable this craft {or a similar but larger one} to travel far enough in space to be able to re- enter the atmosphere and land on a different continent and would this ever be more financially viable than flying to other countries in the normal manner ? Mind you, I admit to being as scared of flying as our cat is when he sees a bath towel so for me personally it's pretty irrelevant.

  • cant whit till i get the money to do thes

  • Richard branson..... what a guy, hes the peoples billionaire to be truthful =)

NASA should be doing this now!!! or they could make a space hotel that Virgin Galactic taxies you too!!! :) one day maybe!!!

lets get into space people!!! booked my tickets :D

  • Amazing this is what N.A.S.A. should be doing! Building a fleet of these, so the general public could pay as little as $ 2000.00 to go into space. N.A.S.A has a hugh budget for the next 10 years basically to do nothing. No moon. No Mars. No wait Mars by 2040. Are you kidding me!

  • @triplebluestar

Unfortunately we are standing first steps in space... We must prepare good because we can't risk astronauts life. Nasa must research how space affecting on human life.... ISS researches - this decade.....

  • It would be so life changing to do that!

  • Its awesome, but its a real pity normal (not rich) people will never experience it.

  • @theshadow013 I'm only in high school and earn well under 1 grand a month shelving books in a library, but I have always loved space and space travel, & I swear to God I'm going up there at least once in my life (don't matter how, where, but preferably sooner than later!) Later they'll have the orbital SpaceShipThree, but competition should bring the cost down to around the price of an expensive car (& it'll continue to drop). Heck, in 30 years you may even have your honeymoon ON the moon!!

  • @Hypergalactica Why would you want your honeymoon on a bland barren rock when Earth is better?

  • Can i have a free sample.

  • beardy cunt

  • so you want to stunt our advancement just to fix some place in the world thats been trying to fix itself since the 60's? Virgin Galatic is paving the way! the future or bust.

  • Greedy Virgin-Virgin Condoms, Virgin toilet rolls, Virgin sanitary towels...what else? What this space ship will do poor people? Millions are dying with diseases and some handful of rich boys want to have some fun with their toys.

  • @SKTPSY I guess the real question is: What good does your comment do to humanity? It changes absolutely nothing. People like Branson, however, do truly change and shape our future because they don't waste their time complaining, they just get to work and pursue whatever their dreams are.

  • @jambexuk You are right our voice falls into the dark hole unless billionaires happen to be Mother Teresa then the humanity picture would be different.

I am doing what I can do to help people with illnesses, disease and disabilities but ALAS! I cannot stretch my resources enough as I wasn't born into a privileged background.

  • @jambexuk If I could I would build as many hospitals, schools, irrigation canals, toilets, community centres and houses as possible in every corner of poverty stricken part of the world. I hope we are on a same wavelength.

  • Whatever, its all for Rich and Famous! What good will come out from this for poor people????

  • If not for "Rich boys and their toys" playing around a hundred years ago, we never would have developed the aeroplane. Consequently many life-saving technologies would never have existed, including (but not limited to) planes and helicopters being used for the distribution of aid and air ambulances.

It's stuff like Virgin Galactic that pushes mankind and technology forward, which eventually trickles down into a benefit for the common man.

  • @corneliusfingers Shall we think bit differently-top down? How about bottom up? When bacterium and virus multiplies and what are you going to do when new form of resistant diseases trickles, no I mean shoots up and gets you?

  • @SKTPSY how does that support your argument in any way? I'm saying Virgin Galactic, the Space Race etc help push technology forwards. This can end up in a variety of applications, including things like better medical facilities to help treat disease and save lives. And you counter this by saying "What happens when viruses become resistant to drugs?". That doesn't seem remotely relevant. If resistant strains pop-up all that means is the people developing antibiotics have been doing a good job!

  • @corneliusfingers Aren't you forgetting something? This is not a scientific mission but a mere tourist coach to space.

  • @ SKTPSY: Which requires technological advances to achieve. In exactly the same way the aeroplane was just a tourist coach to other countries.

Also, NASA currently spends $1.5 million per shuttle mission. If the private sector can get the cost of space travel down to fractions of that, imagine how much smaller NASA's budget will need to be when they adopt the same tech. And imagine how many billions will then be saved and able to be spent on all the stuff you want it spent on.

  • @SKTPSY In regards to my previous post: I did of course mean $1.5 BILLION per launch, not million.

  • that is just amazing ive never seen something soo amazing in my life

  • Since the government wouldnt take leadership in space exploration it is now up u, us to lead the way forward.

    Well done Richard

  • Maybe we should use this money to, e.g., set up a system to effectively deliver and administer the vaccines which will prevent millions of children each year from contracting and dying from polio. Then, once we've wiped out this disease, we can take a sub-orbital flight to experience the fun of weightlessness.

  • maybe you should mind your own bussiness. go and post to a vaccine video

  • @GradStud28 We can only dream and wish! These super-rich people do not breathe same as air as us. They don't know what we are on about.

  • 200,000 dollars to go to space cheaper than it should be

  • i suggest next time x prize do competition who can build flying saucer go to space.

  • the x prize now is getting a private spaceship to the moon

  • See You Up There!!! Not fukin Likely Rich at 200,000 a ticket, think I will have to wait a few years first lol.

But good Effort Rich top man!!!

  • Richard Branson is a bad ass, I'm going on this next year

  • I'll never be able to afford it but it looks really, really cool. Probably the coolest thing a human being could ever do... going into space.

  • You guys are awesome! I love this invention. I hope to be able to ride on your spaceship someday!

  • that is so cool for a business to do this.

  • Kinda reminds me of the Concord

  • ..But just out of this world

  • This is something out of the future

  • jemnd bei laune mit mia zu chaten oder am tele oder auch per cam ^^ bin gelangweilt

  • cool

  • Absolutely amazing! What a dreamer... I love it!!

  • Now if Branson could only stop those damn CHEMTRAILS!

  • This is like an ad for the Hindenberg or the titatinc

  • 2012 man buy ur ticket now save urself

  • we need more billionaires with a vision like this guy...

  • @origamyichi So according to your line of thought, the original company "Virgin Atlantic" only takes you to the Atlantic? By the way, we are galactic, anywhere we stand. And don't worry this billionaire understand the word.

BTW you should be thankful to "ricefarmer" lol

  • @ricefarmer we need chines to do, so ticet would be more like 2000$

  • Richard Branson you are the fucking man!

  • reminds me of star trek first contact when humans first made light speed.. this is truly inspirational

  • girl on 5:06 has a nice set...if u know what im mean...she's a virgin.....pioneer...

  • Of Couse Dude....

No homely chick would sell a $200k ticket!

  • Check out my freestyle!!! add me!!!

  • when??!!

  • United Kingdom FTW

  • ok so it costs 8 grand for a trip from NYC to London on Virgin Atlantic. How much is a trip to fking space gonna cost. 90 % of you watching this including myself, wont even be able to afford a fking ticket.

  • more like 99.9%

  • one step at a time, when planes first started it was also a novelty, not everyone could afford a plane across the Atlantic. like every other technology, prices drop, whats 200K today may be 2K 20 years from now. who knows maybe by then they will have the space elevator built.

  • Sign me up!!!!

  • I probably wont have a chance to be on one of these for 40 years or something, but this is so cool.

  • dont worry in 40 years its probably in the same price range as a flight to europe.

  • man... if they can pull this off this will be one of the gratest achivments in the history .

  • how about the gas

  • Kinda goes to show how independent private enterprise can find ways to do something that a over funded US space program can't. You find simple answers to complex questions.

  • overfunded space program..... are u kidding?

  • thanks you mr branson your one of the few pushing the limits to get us up and off this rock

  • they're gonna take away the myth about space and the privilege to be in space with due to hard work

  • would this spaceship be fast/powerful enough to take people to the moon?

  • @cantfigureausername

no it wouldn't, the craft is only designed to be in orbit.

  • Good stuff. Go Virgin. I fear it will still be for the rich. I'm lucky if I can afford the bus. Seems my lot.

  • Wait, so Boromir is an astronaut now?

  • How could somebody see this and not be excited for the future, for technology, for human progress?

Come on, this stuff was science fiction 50 years ago and completely out of imagination 100 years ago. Now it is not only being done, it is being done accessibly!

  • Virgin top gun today

  • Go Virgin!!

  • It makes sense to be this expensive due to the fact that no one else is offering this experience safely. Although, for only 5 minutes, it seems to be a bit stretched. That 200k, 5 minute ride will be gone before you know it. It'll truly be the fastest and shortest experience of your life.

  • Global warming is the new Y2K

  • @primusfeces

    2012 is the new Y2K

  • if i were a millionair i'd be first in cue for this, but as im not and $200k is a massive emount of money to me. i'll sit back and watch the rich and famous go on this... i heard somewhere that stephen hawlkings has one of the tickets for first commerical flight, i hope he enjoys the ride

  • c'mon, Russians charge 20-30 million USD

20-200 thousands would be very cheap

  • bit difference though 20-30million gets you 8-10 days in space and 200k gets you 5mins

  • i don't mean to sound like a tool here, but, this may start out extremely expensive, however, it's just another example of how the free market spurs innovation and will eventually make space flight more common for more common people, NASA can suck it

  • Please stop using that already worn out buzz term "Climate Change", its just the "now" term for Global Warming and we know now that the whole fucking thing is a hoax.

Climate change is a normal occurrence!

  • this is incredible- the idea of any joe bloggs going into space is remarkeable. I had to remind myself he isn't making this up!- people are actually going to do this

  • nah this is nothing. I'll wait when I can travel to Mars~

  • Wow! A unrivaled opportunity to watch 6 very rich people become 6 very dead people in an eyeblinck...

  • well i aint fuckin rich so i wont be doin this shit anytime in my lifetime.

  • where do i buy my ticket?

  • Nice !

  • damn technology is awesome

  • the important thing in this video is this, no matter how crazy, impossible it is, this guy believes in his cause, and if successfull, can take a few people, or humanity itself as a whole, to the stars.

It all starts with one man, and one dream..

  • Yes, but you forgot to mention the MOST IMPORTANT part - MONEY.

And this guy has a lot so, it isnt any big deal or much relevant.

Now lets say you have the dream to go fly on it..... you fail because you dont have money to achieve your dream.

  • lol cheap access to space, how much are the tickets lolol the humans are doomed hahahaha

  • Cheap? something about $200,000 for 6 minutes of weightlessness doesnt sound to cheap.

  • so you're saying its too expensive? compared to what?? thats the point isnt it!!! there is nothing out there that even slightly compares to what virgin galactic are offering so there are no competitors to pitch your price against. its neither expensive or cheap, its a figure for a truely unique experience.

  • True there is little comparison to what they are offering. As for competitors, there are none currently although there are other groups who are aiming to achieve a similar goal. The price will most likely remain until others come out and offer the same service for a lower cost. But still, they're talking the cost of 20 respectable cars. Or 10,000 bar nights. Or over 60 years of rent payments. Just seems a bit excessive to me =\

  • everything looks pretty till first accident

  • RELEASE FORMS FTW!

  • Don't hate, just appreciate. :)

  • Burt Rutan FTW!!

  • super camping ftw

  • nice

  • so.. hypothetically speaking, if there's other life other than us, and when you're up in space in VG space ship, and you happen to see something extraordinary... anyways you get what im saying.

will the people who take this trip be debriefed when back on earth? you know, like the NASA astronauts do.

  • "Identity designed by Philippe Starck"

I hope that doesn't mean the ship; He's the last person I'd want designing something that goes into space. He's infamous among the design community for form over function. He can't even design a kettle that works properly, let alone a space ship.

  • awesomedary

  • Its great to see the super rich take chances with their money. Hope one day to fly in one of these rockets.

  • just gotta live about another 40 years and it'll be affordable enough for me...fingers crossed cancer or a weak heart doesnt get me

  • I can't go 3 comments before reading someone saying "fuck you, cunt, dick, ass"... wow yall are some immature children.

  • Greetings, Grand! :-)

Your assertion on many of the YouTubers 'commenting' is accurate, you know. However, I am NOT about to go into that in-depth now.

No, all I wanted to say is... that I so badly want to see our supposedly finite Home. Personally, I do NOT think that our Universe is finite; I think it is a sphere floating in a perhaps infinite, chromatically alternative viscous mass. And, perhaps, that mass has, as entry point, the Super-Massive Black Holes; perhaps the Singularity is God.

  • fuck earth, im getting the hell outta here. see ya later suckers!

  • Absolutely INCREDIBLE. When I first heard of Virgin Galactic years ago, it seemed to me nothing more than a pipe dream for a rich entrepreneur that would fizzle into nothing.

But you Sir Branson did it! I wish the absolute best of success in this venture. The magnitude of what this project can accomplish for future individuals. A true civilian space program... wow.

When that price drops down about 75%, I'll be siting in one of those seats.

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, my dream may come true now i'm almsot in tears...

  • Sir Richard (or his designates) - Amazing job! For many this is a lifelong dream realized. Congratulations, and I hopefully you and your company can innovate in the years to come to make this affordable for the average citizen in my lifetime so I too can make the trip! Thanks for keeping the dream alive, and keeping us staring at the stars!

  • They guarantee 5 mins of weightlessness. Fail.

  • Yo isn't Branson like ultra rich like billionar rich?

  • Yes mate, Branson is self made Billionaire rich. Owns many companies from Airlines to Record labels and an Island in the Caribbean. A true entrepreneur who's not afraid to take on bloated corporations. He spots opportunities early. He's radical, takes risks and does things differently. He's perfect for this job. I hope it works out for him. The launch, re-entry concept seems so simple, I can't believe no other government programme has thought of it already. I wish I was younger..

  • Ya I last remember when he had a show on fox years I use to watch. They were like all specialist comming together to make promotions and tv ads for the space ship that was first built.

  • they should set up a lottery in order to give normal ppl a chance to fly

  • Looking in the wrong place, lol

  • Ever since being a kid playing with legos, I've know it's this easy to get into space.

  • i wish i could do extremely rich people things like go to space

  • at 300,000 dollars a flight i dont think i will see you up there richard lol but its amazing to know that maybe one day they can make this really commercial and just maybe one day i could go to space :)

  • it's cool and all but its gonna cost waay to much. probably only celebrities will be able to afford it.

  • I'm not sure how old you are but the price will come down one day so keep saving if you TRULY want to go to space.

  • "celebrities" make up only a small portion of of the population that has the means and are willing to spend this kind of money.

  • A disaster in the making that. Titanic all over again 100 years on....

  • And did that stop people from taking trans atlantic cruises? Did it stop people from flying after the 9/11 incident? Does it stop people from driving even though every 8 seconds there is an automobile accident? People will die one day on Virgin's space flight. Will that stop people from reaching space? I think not.

  • Well said my friend. I would do it if I could afford it, I would be the first to try any method of transport from vehicles to, tele-portation to even time traveling if those are ever possible within my lifetime.

  • Why do people have to come up with unnecessary dumb comments like these? Just be glad you are living in an era were technology allows you to understand that there is something more than the horizon.

  • Hey look, the Titanic ended in disaster and now we have the Oasis of the Seas. Good job.

  • i heard about this project not to long ago

  • Say Hello to the Space Era! I'm only 17 I can't imagine how this will be in 30 years.

  • Cool! :)

  • Im currently a Junior in High school. I want to study aerospace engineering, and i have to say this is exactly what i want to do. The dreams of working for the tuck up NASA seems hard but this could just be my future job. This is going to be more popular than NASA. IM excited for my future now!!!

  • the Wright brothers of our time!

  • I am so happy to see that Richard and his team are attempting to make space travel a reality. It is time. Our imaginations are ready to make the final leap into the future. I will be watching were every I might be that day when they depart. That moment will begin something that even Richard's team cannot expect.

  • I personally believe this is a tremendous waste of our earth's natural resources just for a millionaire's "thrill ride" and should not be happening. There are numerous dangers involved in this as well.

  • Absolutly amazing!!! If only I had the money sniff sniff

  • This gives me an idea for a comic book. The Fabulous Four, the tale of 4 wealthy Orange County socialites that gain super human powers from cosmic rays during commercial space flight. Lead by Debbie Deed, a famous Hollywood plastic surgeon who becomes Mrs. Fabulous. She can reshape her augmented breasts into various rubber-like forms. Her favorite powers are the medicine ball bounce and the O.C. Titty Twister. Her favorite battle cry, "A bounce of medicine is BALL you need." hahahahaha

  • I guess I'm wrong.

There are so many neat things that can happen while outside of the troposphere.

Like getting hit by high energy solar flares and cosmic energy.

  • oh Its worth the risk. Life is not that valuable.

  • You do realize that man kind will inevitably end unless we go into space right? This is just a step forward. Space does have its dangers but I think the pros outweigh the cons.

  • looks good. The only part i can see a possible problem with is the short wings, you can see how it makes the spacecraft unstable in the roll motion as it ascends with the rocket engine. Couldn't this be a problem if there was loss of control when close sound barrier?

  • Do any of you short sighted, foul mouthed critics own a car? Use it to get around, hmm? Ever flown on a plane anywhere, for business or even pleasure ..... yes, pleasure! Use a cell phone, do you? All those inventions were, at the beginning, the realm of the extremely wealthy. This is just another extraordinary technological advancement whose development is being paid for by the rich, who can afford it. Thanks to them then, for bankrolling what will ultimately be available to us all.

  • I can't agree with you more. It is appaling how many uneducated people there are these days. And I'll be the first to say that I did not finish college due to financial reasons. But I did get my private pilot license and go on to a career at American Airlines as a mechanic. Think about when the Wright brothers flew. Then came Lindburg, Post, Amelia, etc., the famous people flying. Then after WW II just the upper crust. Then space came along and Now just about anyone can fly. Ran out of space.

  • Yes, look at the adoption curve of aviation from the wright brothers to commercial aviation, it;s really steep and all happened incredibly quickly. Thanks for your remark.

  • worth it.

  • 4/5, it would have been 5/5 were it not for the smarmy "LOOK AT ME! I'M RICH" motherfuckers who featured in the middle of the video.

    Cocksuckers.

  • I wish someday I have the chance.

  • £130k

  • i'm down

  • Yeah it will be expensive at 1st

    Then it will get cheaper

    Like everything in life
