  • I'm pretty sure this is actually earlier than 1962 - Kenneth Kendall had left BBC News (for a while) in March 1961, the Radio Times cover style seen here had been dropped in October 1960 and there are other references which tie it to the late 1950s - "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On", the multiple changes of government in France (which would be from the time of great instability c. 1957/58 when the Fifth Republic had to be formed) and indeed the 1957 film you've also uploaded.

  • The yearly 'goof tapes' for 'Xmas Tapes' haven't changed so much in all these years, just the technology. We just did ours at work and it's just as 'personal in-joked' as this is! Great stuff!
