  • @4:33 is that Heinz Field?

  • @2003NeonSXT Yes it is!

  • Man, there wasn't a boring second at all in this video, this was SUPERB! I don't recall driving any of the bridges or tunnels that you showcased in the first half of this video.

Question. Are they modernizing PA 28 at this time?

  • @USHighway101 Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I'm not 100% sure on PA-28 but from what I understand they are trying to modernize and connect the freeway sections.

  • @USHighway101 They're modernizing it as much as they can, given the constraints. The right-of-way for PA 28 is squeezed by a cliff on one side and a railroad on the other, so the upgraded highway will only have emergency pull-off areas instead of full shoulders, and the way the ends of the intersecting bridges (31st and 40th Streets) are built necessitates on- and off-ramps on the left. As a result, it will be a limited-access highway with a relatively low speed limit of either 45 or 50 MPH.

  • Since PA 28 is a state highway and not an Interstate highway, it does not have to fully conform with modern Interstate standards. In spite of that, the upgraded segment of highway is bound to be a dramatic improvement over the obsolete and dangerous segment that it replaces.

  • hey freewayjim you should make a video from charleroi,pa to pittsburgh,pa its only 35.0 mi, 1 hour 1 min

  • @MrSuperRileymoore No thanks, I'll pass.

  • @MrSuperRileymoore I can't post videos that long on here.

  • my favorite bridge is the wabash railroad bridge

  • what is the best bridge in pittsburgh,pa

what is the longest bridge in pittsburgh,pa.

what is the best tunnel in pittsburgh,pa.

what is the longest tunnel in pittsburgh,pa

  • @MrSuperRileymoore Best bridge is a matter opinion, for me it's the Westinghouse Bridge, the longest is the McKees Rocks bridge. I like the Fort Pitt tunnel the best, the Liberty Tunnel is the longest.

  • I clicked "like" before watching the video!

  • @Roro45ls Hope that you didn't regret it :)

  • Great videos of my prior home. 19 through Westview was my favorite through.

  • Your stuff is really lookin' good piped over to my 42" plasma set!'

  • @socarboy Sweet!

  • wow! wow! wow! feels like I am there. another great video.

  • @viagensimagens Thank you!

  • Another winner.. Great tour.

  • Spectacular job! The music and the lead guitar role were perfect for the drive on the bridges and tour through the historic tunnels of Pittsburgh. It heavily amplified the magnificent journey by car through one of America's greatest cities with architectural masterpieces!

  • @Reiser86 Thank you very much!

  • WOW, this is incredible - excellent synching to the footage with the music.

  • @0marigolds Thanks, glad you "joyed" it, this one was much fun to put together :)

  • 5:34 , LOVE IT. I liked how you left the the footage in from bridge to bridge, kinda gave a traveling effect. 4:50 is impressive, wow, the arches have got to be atleast 140ft tall, 2.5x higher than the clearance itself . I also enjoyed the Guitar in this one alot. huge thumbs up.

  • @ScrewdUPClickV2 Thanks, glad you liked it, this one was fun to put together.

  • Very nice movie with lots of interesting informations, Thanks, old friend!! Greetings from Spain.

  • Jim:

someone once told me you actually had a job........hmmm....great job!

Time for me and Andrew to hit the road again..............

  • @FreewayAndrew Thanks, and yeah I have a job, truth be told I was only on the road for 5 days this year (not counting a day trip here and there).

  • 04:53 OMG what a bridge... :O

  • Sorry i meant and

  • Some great and interesting roads, tunnels vandals bridges

  • .. wow Jim, I'm drooling, something to see moment by moment ..

  • @GeoffJennyOliver It's that kind of city :)

  • The Smithfield Street Bridge (my favorite) was designed by the gentleman who designed the Brooklyn Bridge and the Armstrong Tunnels were used in the TV Mini-series "The Stand". When Larry and Rita (?) come out of the tunnel in the move they are at the Forbes Ave side.

  • @maregee Did not know that about the tunnels, good factoid!

  • really nice video of pittsburgh jim I liked the suspension bridge that you caught on the video

  • @MrFreewaykay Thanks, that is the only true suspension bridge in the city believe it or not.

  • Awesome stuff Jim and great song too!

  • @dave11686 Thank you!

  • Nice ride thanks! Love these ride along vids. Wish we had more bridges and tunnels in TX. Oh well at least we got the BIG stacks and all. Good views of city skyline also. BTW got to your channel from screwedupclickv2. Two of my fav channels :)

  • @chess2020 Thanks and welcome aboard! ScrewdupclickV2 is a good friend of mine, I enjoy his work as well.

  • Really nice video Jim! Favorited!

  • @InterstateKyle Thank you!

  • You know that building at the beginning photo of Pittsburgh, the one with the triangular top and then needle, go to Simtropolis and go to STEX, somebody just made that building.

Now on Topic: I love the videos you've been putting out. They're great.

  • @MrZulu2065 Thank you! I believe the building you are referring to is Fifth Avenue Place. Too bad, I'm a Mac user and SC4 on the Mac does not work with the new OS X Lion :(
