good to see someone doing something and sharing their results good work mate. Google modern radiant energy system that should get you the article that contains the schematics for this system. I have printed it out and started to build it. They say that the cheaper the manufacturing of the wire the beter the electret effect and solid core is better than stranded. They also use a 20KV diode! now your getting seious.

You may avoid use of Plate, as well:

-All you need is co-axial cable (eg. one for the tv antenna will do), 50 to 100 meters long, and elevated - say: elevated to under your house roof. You leave UPPER end of it just cut, and lower end: twist the ends together, and coneect them any further, as you do like when the plate was there. You'll have the same (if not better result).

Yes,you are right,

an electret is like a magnet,but in electrostatics.

An electret with metal plates on it will

always charge up the plates, as the plates attract free electrons from the air.

But you need tohave a very strong electret,

so you need to condition the plastic foil between the 2 metal plates with at least 3 to 20 KiloVolts DC, then heat the plates and foil

and let them cool down, so the High Voltage DC is imprinted into the plastic foil and it becomes a permanent electret.

Did you charge up first anything with High Voltage ?

You need to condition a plastic acrylic foil to get an electret first with putting 2 metalplates onto the acryl foil and heat it and put about 3 to 20KiloVolts onto it and let it cool, while the high voltage is still on.

This way you make an electret foil which charges up later the metal plates and attracts free electrons and ions from the air.

This way you will get much faster charging !

you know what, i did try attaching a 9 volt and i think it might have started a weak electret, but im not sure because i have discharged the circuit and havent hooked up the 9v and its beeen charging again with my 3rd plate i just put up. i looked up the electret but i dont get why i wasnt taught that in h.s. . its almost like magnetism with charge instead. i was impressed wih what i got but if i can improve it i will definatly try what your saying. its dc hv right?
