@alacer24 why do it on my own? Because I can make $100/shift PLUS tips. You obviously don't know who I am. I know exactly how Ben runs his game. I was once the top earning person in the company. Nobody would have a problem if he charged realistic prices and was an honest person. You'll learn your lesson one day.

I treat myregion as though its my own Franchise. I only recruit clients (restaurants) that are worth a balloon twisters time to work. And I am very personal with my staff and make sure they they are of professional quality. I love the system Balloon Distractions offers for working restaurants, and the $15/hour is the average earnings of a new twister. All new twisters I bring know the systembeforehand
@unicaw89 But why not do that on your own? You know that you're good enough of a twister to get restaurants on your own. Even if you were to pocket the small amount that BD charges, it would be a lot better than just working for tips.

I'm not sure where everyone is getting that Balloon Distractions takes all the profit, but allow me to give a breakdown of the profit from restaurants:
For every $45 charged to a restaurant - $10 goes to the trainer, $15 to the salesman, $5 for the subcrew, and $3 to the RP, Balloon Distractions only gets a measly $12 each gig......

In order for something to be defamation, you have to make harmful false statements, and do so either knowingly, or with an irresponsible disregard for trying to find out whether it's the truth, and you must make these false statements in such a way that you are presenting them as fact. So as long as everything you say is either true & factual -and/or- your opinion, you are not defaming anyone.

This is the reason I print out all the ads when I was looking for a job in case something shady like this happens. This company sucks and I hope the employees go on strike. Good luck to you man. @gbilios I'm waiting until Ben does something blatantly illegal to take him to court. They still owe me a partial check from July 2011 and if I don't receive it by the 20th of this month, court will be the destination.
@gbilios I don't believe that it is. The twisters aren't considered employees, but rather independent contractors. On that note, Ben did force us to sign a non-compete. He withheld our pay and said that we won't be paid until we sign it. Still have the email from him.
@gbilios Except Balloon Distractions does not give you ANYTHING when you work a gig. You only get tips. The CEO claims to be a mastermind salesman. If this were the case, he could sell the gigs for twice the price and pay the twister something. Unfortunately, he isn't as great of a salesman as he thinks.

I went back to street performing, and got a shop in the mall to let me come in so I can work the mall in bad weather. UNfortunately BD has destroyed the restraunt gigs in Savannah. As you know, most restraunts are corporate these days, one of the reasons I wanted to get on with BD. They booked just about everyone they could, and the ones open to Balloons, won't talk to me because of the crappy service they got from BD. "The last girl was popping balloons every 5 minutes in our customers faces

The RP (Johnny Torres) was sleeping with one of the twisters. He even "blocked" me a few times so that she could get the big paying gigs. You see all the twisters he hired were friends of his and they lived an hour abway from Savannah, GA. I was taking the Savannah gigs because they were the only ones I could get to. So these college kids with rich mommies and daddies were crying because I was basically better than them.I had more compliments in my first month than all others combined.
@dlfynrdr Doesn't surprise me. There are RPs as young as 17 and 18. They have no experience in a manager's position and usually show a strong bias, especially in scheduling. Hopefully you're doing just fine up there on your own.

I have some xxperience with this company as well. Not much direct contact with the big guys down in FL, except to say the times I did, they were quite rude when it was uncalled for. I was screwed over by my regional director. He took me on as a twister with 1 year street performing experience. I told him I wanted mainly something on the weekdays.

The "big guys," who are actually pretty small in size, try to force people into doing things even though they aren't actual employees. I'm sure there is some labor law against that. Who was the RP? I've heard rumors of Ben sleeping with another RP, but haven't been able to confirm it.
@Norafreak omg thanks. :$ In my experience, Balloon Distraction is a shady company altogether. Keep in mind that the videos that these people post that are positive about BD are part of a contest to win money. They wouldn't have been posted otherwise.
