  • I wish youtube had a loop feature so that I could keep listening to this without having to hit replay. I love Latin, its kind of sad for me to accept that I'll probably never learn it though.

  • Amém.

  • Uppenbarelseboken (Book of Revelations) 21:1 - 5

Och jag såg en ny himmel och en ny jord; ty den förra himlen och den förra jorden voro förgångna och havet fanns icke mer. Och jag såg den heliga staden, ett nytt Jerusalem , komma ner från himlen, från Gud, färdigsmyckad såsom en brud, som är prydd för sin brudgum. Och jag hörde en stark röst från tronen säga: >>Se, nu står Guds tabernakel bland människorna, och han skall bo ibland dem, och de skola vara hans folk; ja Gud själv skall vara hos dem

  • The most beautiful song in the whole world and of all times ... Alleluia.

  • i can speak latin well!!! and i'm in the 9th grade ^^

  • God, these church folks can't pronounce Latin. Why not just speak Italian if you're going to pronounce Latin like it anyway?

  • @FreezingShock This is Ecclesiastical Latin, not classical.

  • Mówię "Nie" Nowemu Porządkowi Świata (bez związku z filmem)

  • @C0ldlake Buddhist here and it gives me chills how beautiful this is

  • @C0ldlake well this makes you an agnostic :)

  • great i goto remember all of this in 1 week with other 2 latin liturgi songs...

  • @LeMarquiDeSade: It depends on the translation. The Greek Orthodox Church adds that part. So if you translate it to Latin (or English) from their books you'd include it. But the earliest (Greek) copies of the Gospels don't include that line.

Basically the difference between using a medieval Greek manuscript and an ancient Greek one.

  • Tnkx for sharing :) God Bless

  • ooh thx, i was searching it for a spell, now i can make it ;DD

  • Shouldn't this be followed by, quia tuum est regnum, et potestas et gloria in saecula?

  • @LeMarquiDeSade um... could be......

  • When I was about to lose my grandma in August last year (2010)... I just wanted to scream this prayer out loud in church, while I was kneeling before the altar... Never have my prayers been so filled with sorrow...

  • please god dont exist for me ( and all the world, really anyone bealive in god)

  • @HombreInbisible i choose to know God and i rember a quote that said if there was no God then there would be no athiest

  • I think I'm totally lost in Latin pronunciation. I've thought they always say 'c' either as 's' or 'k' but why do I hear now 'ch'? (in the word 'caelis')

  • @pyskute its like italian how they pronounce the c as a 'che' sound

  • @pyskute It's normally 'ch' but sometimes its 'k' when at the end of a word.

  • @pyskute

It would have been better if someone had explained to you that in Latin, the "c" + "ae" creates the "ch" sound.

It's on par with how T + I in English words such as "caution" makes the "sh", not a "ti".

  • @pyskute Original Latin IS pronounced with the "k" sound. However, in church latin, the "ch" is preferred. I don't think you would find Romans walking around pronouncing it that way, it's just a church thing.

  • @Rhyshian

You would. Since it continued to be spoken and had, among others, this pronounciation, at least in that area. Latin wasn't spoken only in the classical era.

  • "The Our Father contains all the duties we owe to God, the acts of all the virtues and the petitions for all our spiritual and corporal needs. (...) Thomas a Kempis says that it surpasses all the desires of all the saints; that it is a condensation of all the beautiful sayings of all the psalms and canticles; that in it we ask God for everything that we need, that by it we praise him in the very best way; ..." - "The Secret of The Rosary"

  • alRIGHT! Thank you so much for this upload! Earlier today I was inspired to learn this prayer in Latin (the language is just so beautiful ^_^) and I found that I wasn't sure how to pronounce certain words lol. THANK YOU AGAIN AND GOD BLESS, SOLI DEO GLORIA!

  • @ShashiFSSAficionada I have to remember this for my Latin 2 class by next Thursday. This song should help me!

  • latin is manipulated basque just like most languages....research it n ull see...

  • @CoolBasqueGuy Not even. Basque is the remnants of pre-Invasion European civilization. If anything, Latin is a relation to proto-Slavic, since most came from the Ukraine. Be thankful the Euskaldunak were here first, but don't make everyone out to be you.

  • The Illuminati, who sold their souls for Lucifer, have an obligation to teach the world the wrong names of the Trinity. The purpose of this is so you condemn yourself upon judgment. When Christ asks "Who do you say that I am?" make sure and tell others to answer, :"You are God."

If you give the Illuminati answer, "You are the son of a talking fire (the Lord)," you will quickly find out what Freemasonry has done to you and you will have an eternity to think about it. fatimamovement d o t c o m

  • Latin grammar is saved (in 80%) in polish language. I admire people who have patience for learning sixth (latin) (in polish - seventh) form of nouns, adjectives… Pronunciation is very similar for us (with small differences, polish is “tough” language). I’m not sure that Italian saved correct pronunciation. For example greek language isn’t the same language which use Plato or Aristotle. True is that latin is language of Church, Vatican is full of Italians... every country change style of latin.

  • @dudzio89 Yes you have a good point... I'm from croatia so i know all about seven form of nouns and adjectives :)... and italians made changes in c and g sound... c before y,i,e,ae,oe makes ts sound (tsunami), not ch sound like in chess... it is same for g sound before y,i,e,ae or oe makes g (afGanistan) sound not g (like in word range)... this is direct influence from italian language... so it is sanktificetur, not santkifićetur :)

  • I am proud to speak the closest national language to Latin, Italian.

  • @BattleForTelenuovo

Hi! Is learning Latin easier for you, I mean because you're Italian?

Is Italian language difficult to learn? Of course it's not for you, but do you think, is it difficult for non-Italian pepole? Thank you.

  • @Pavelic96 Italian is a neo-latin language and it is easier to learn for people who speak at least one romance language such as Spanish; French, Portuguese or Romanian.. latin is much easier for us, because 98% of italian words have a latin etimolgoy, so is guessly times easier for us.. we still use a lot of latin phrases when we speak, but it isn't easy to learn for people who speak a language with celtic or germanic rules.. however english vocabulary is 30% derived from latin.

  • @AssyrianPowers and that is relevant how?

Jewish extremists have killed thousands of palestinians in the past 50 years

catholics have been prosecuted in the british isles, thousands of protestants were killed by the inquisition, millions of jews were killed by the nazis, thousands of christian armenians were killed by the islamic turks, thousands of islamic bosnians were killed by the serbs and tens of thousand of christians were killed by the romans

  • @JennaJoker

I like the "and stuff" bit. :)

  • @JennaJoker I do not believe you need to have knowledge in Latin to perform an exorcism. What I do believe, however, is that you need God in your heart (which equals strong faith), your Crucifix, your Bible and Holy Water.

  • According to Vatican, Brazil is the biggest Catholic country in the world. We are now 192 million people. Brazil was discovered by a portuguese navigator named Pedro Alvares Cabral, on April 22, 1500. The first mass was celebrated (in Latin) by Friar Henrique de Coimbra on April 26, 1500. From 1500 to 1962 the Mass used to be celebrated in Latin. Presently some bishops are bringing back the Latin Mass to their churches.

  • kenzoyur@ Hello:

I don't know how are the things in Brazil... I believe that the Holy Mass ought been speak in the language of the people of the country. although the Mass in Latin is very beautiful, and would be good that will speak in latin sometimes in special times. God bless us, and bless our Holy Catholic Apostolic and Roman church.

    I am from Colombia.

    bye and bless.

  • Thanks be to God!

This from the revelations given to Blessed Ann Catherine Emmerich by our Lord:

She saw in a vision the enemies of the Church tearing it down and trying to build a new one on strictly human plans--but none of the saints would lend a hand. Later, this church of men is destroyed and the saints of God join in to rebuild the true Church of God, which becomes more glorious than ever before.

-From the revelations of our Lord to Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, t1874

  • I agree with AniVisual, although this is a pretty piece. The correct pronunciation of the diphthong '-ae' is sounded like the personal pronoun "I" in English.
