seeing as people have no understanding in aviation here, saying stuff like its unsafe and faults appearing so soon. Airbus has gone from 20% market share to over 52% fact. The airlines have spoken and these "unsafe terrible european" aircraft and winning more and more order compared to Boeing. Dont get me wrong i love boeing especially the 777 but its idiot supporters that have no ground to stand on and just say "if its not boeing im not going" just really pisses me off.
Yet another Safter issue with these A380. 4 November 2011 engine failure makes emergency landing in Dubai. Think only about 9 of these planes flying dread the day one might crash, rushed into production. Give me a 747-800 instead, shame Qantas I remember when your logo was "The all Boeing Airline"
Everybody slags off the A380 for its little bugs, yet 777's had, and still have lots of bugs including one recently where flight control system had a bug where it gave uncomanded up elevator and very nearly stalled at 40,000 feet, then pitched down and turned left every time the autopilot was engaged.
Yeah so... Boeings are real safe right? Very nearly ended in 300 deaths. This landing was performed as a precaution
@kingofkeyboards First of QANTAS! Secondly, Yes this is, it is now currently sitting at Singapore Airport awaiting repairs, It has not moved since the incident.

@mcpcshowcaseHD i been on a fucking 380 from singapour and fuck my life 14 hours neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee wooaaah ahhhh baby screaming LMAO
@mcpcshowcaseHD A380's not all that great, just because it's big. Ohhkay? That just means it's gonna take longer to load and with it being the size it is, it's probably gonna cut down range compared to the 747(Which it did). The A380 isn't the only plane as complex as it is, they learned how to employ the FBW systems during the begining of the A320 program and are now innovating it to be in all of their aircraft. The 777 is FBW, why is the A380 better? I'm not saying you said these things BTW
@Handiman544 Mate its not the A380s that are having problems. Just bloody QANTAS. So untrust worthy over here in Australia I will never fly with them again. Virgin Australia is the way to go now

@GERMANLOVER7000 Ofcourse Lufthansa is a better airline.. but you know why we think that?? Because we like it better than Qantas... as simple as that.. We always think the thing we like the most is the best..
But pilots must still always communicate in English. Even German pilots, even in Germany and even if they are flying for Lufthansa. That's gotta hurt :)
why, there are no other acronyms that do that that I know of...
The real question is why does the english language use 'qu' when a single 'q' would work fine. There is no difference in pronouciation in the very few english words that don't have a u after them, or at least never when it's used at the begining or middle of the words, and IMO, it's only because of lazyness at the end; 'q' is longer to say that 'k' (e.g. in Iraq)
"....slight technical difficulties..." such as not being able to turn on its own? ha ha. that's too funny. I won't get into a Boeing vs. Airbus debate so let me just say that once they've ironed out the bugs, I'd really like to fly in one of these.
@jerryison2003 Atleast airbus planes wont crash due technical and design problems... As experienced on the 737 1,2,3,4,5,6 00's; MD's;DC's, 727 and 757.
@sonicfan7 be that as it may, Boeing still is the preferred choice for many airlines. The Boeing 737 being the most sold and used aircraft in the world for passenger travel amongst its past of design errors, which have been fixed. Fact still remains, the Boeing 737 most popular aircraft, 727 popular aircraft pre-737, 757 versatile and reliable.
@jerryison2003 that is a feature and not a bug... the a380 is going to fly only in big airports where it has the machines to start the engines so.. how is that a bug? you think they forgot to put it?
@jerryison2003 yeaaaah, because Boeing's history is impeccably clean in this respect... take the Boeing 727 for example. That was ooooh so reliable and didnt spend the entire 1970s crashing and burning because of design flaws did it? Hmm
1) 1,831 727's were built, so far 69 A380's have been produced
2) The 727 was designed with 1950's technology in mind, no ADIRU nor other advanced design features now incorporated into the A380
3) The 727 of it's time was a tremendously reliable aircraft with very few faults, it;s been in service for over 50 years so obviously it is going to have more incidents
Next time you compare aircraft, don't choose something that is comparable to chalk and cheese
@j4cko56 I know it's an abbreviation for what you say, but to be pronounced "Kwantas", they could have used the "U" from the Queensland part. Therefore calling it "Quantas".
And besides all that, thats not how acronyms form, they go from 'Queensland And Northen Territory Aerial Service', to Q.A.N.T.A.S., to QANTAS, to finally just Qantas. It's a written thing, not a oral thing. And once you end up with Qantas on a sheet of paper, what other way are you going to say it?
And finally, you CAN NOT spell your own name wrong—it is IMPOSSIBLE ;)
@AndrossKenobi So how would you pronounce the company names QUANTAS then? To me, Qantas will always be pronounced "Kantas". Then again, millions of flies eat shit but they can't all be right can they?
"The only airline to spell it's name wrong" - I disagree.
As previously explained by j4cko56, QANTAS is an acronym - just like AAPT, AOL or TWA. I'm sure that these arn't pronounced as "aaarpt", "ale" or "twaaar".
QANTAS is not misspelt - Rather, Kwantus is just a simpler way of pronunciating the acronym.
Similar to: CQ Air, Xtra airways, Lynx Aviation, CommutAir etc.
I scrolled through your comments but I am not entirely sure what your original point was. Could you please elaborate on this.
Could you please also explain what you meant with your comment of how millions of shit eating flies cant all be right? Given than Qa ntas is Australian, Australia is known for its flies, flies land on people (in particular to drink and eat), an Aussie would take greatoffence to such a comment!
its a bloody shame all the problems qantas has had with its a380 thats one airline who doesent deserve it what a great airline qantas is im proud to say ive flown with them and safety really is a first at qantas we flew from frankfurt to melbourne and they had a problem with some fuses they changed them n off we went amazing !!
The media in Australia make Qantas and the A380 look bad. The media neglect to inform the public that the majority of the maintenance on the A380 is still performed by the manufacturers of the individual major components. Take the recent engine failure, for example. The engines are not maintained by Qantas engineers. How is Qantas to blame? As it turns out, it was a manufacturing defect. Qantas and SEVERAL other airlines grounded their fleet.
The Airbus Does NOT meet the criteria and standards in the U.S. Federal Air Regulations,You can thank the IACO receprical agreements, If you Don't belive it read the F.A.R.s on line and ask your self ,does this beast realy meet the standards? It was such a short comming that the last adminastrator signed it off and quietly retired,As the lower offices didn't want to touch it.
@mcpcshowcaseHD That's reality. How about the Qantas A380 who suffered an engine explosion and had to make an emergency landing in Singapore just last month? I am not saying I want to see people die! Think of what could have happened? The engine shrapnel could have cut flight control systems, and that's not good. There are flaws that will and have reared their ugly head on the A380, like all aircraft.
@Atomcitypasi I'm not saying that in a sinister way. New aircraft designs have flaws that are sometimes not caught during tests resulting in a crash or near crash. After investigation, changes can be made to make the aircraft more flight worthy. I'm an asshole for saying this? This happens, it is a fact. I love how youtube people just throw comments out there about a person based purely on speculation.
Hey man can you please tell me what was the location you took the video from? I usually go the 27L for spotting. never knew you could see departures from 27R at that close.
@tahlil As you probably know the arrival was filmed from Myrtle Avenue (27L). To film at 27R I stood on the Northern Perimeter Road near the Renaissance Hotel. If you checkout my website (links in the video description) I have included a link to Google Maps so you can get to this location. Hope this helps. Let me know (",)
@pokoc4, maybe if you compare how many boeings and how many airbus aircrafts operate worldwide u wouldnt speak out so loudly. When u have 100 boeings and and 20 airbus the chance a boeing aircraft will have a problem as first is...how high?
Qantas is a great airline. Being Australian myself, I've always flown with them to America.Maybe a bird flew into the Rolls Royce Engine ? It happens every so often.
Early in 2010 the whole European airspace was closed down because of Icelandic vonlcanic eruptions, Qantas 32's flihgt route is very near to Merapi Volcano in Indonesia wich is breaking out at the moment, i think there is a good chance that ash caused the trouble, by the way how many Airbus 380 crashed in the past? ZERO! How many Airbus in the last 20 years? 4-5? How many Boeings? 30-40? that should answer wich aircraft is more secure. And for the notice Rolls-Royce engines are the best quality.
@Sooksawaspakdee961 Let's not get too carried away until the cause of the accident can be fully understood. At least the A380 was able to land safely despite damage to the wing.
@mcpcshowcaseHD Hey, wait a minute, so the A380 in this video is QF32 ?? If it is, then it's the same A380 that suffered engine damage today. Am I right?? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
@Boeingloverzz QF32 is the QANTAS flight number which is London Heathrow > Sydney Kingsford Smith (via Singapore Changi). The aircraft in the video is registered VH-OQA (named Nancy-Bird Walton) which is the same aircraft that suffered the uncontained engine failure today (4 November)
@Sooksawaspakdee961 so damn clueless. Bet you know nothing about planes at all, just sit on your arse all day in front of youtube complaning about everything
@Sooksawaspakdee961 I agree. No way would I ever fly in an Airbus. When you hear of a plane having a problem, invariably it's an Airbus. I only fly Boeing.
Just now my father called my mom, he said that the A380 QANTAS had an emergency landing on Singapore International Airport.Maybe it coud be some engine failure or something
@Romerjon17 Lol 1 million? That wont even buy a decent house. Let alone the largest commercial passenger airplane in the world. Its about 317.2–337.5 million in United States of America currency.
Oh no The runway is shut now the poor other planes have to land on one runway only but aslong as she is safe then everything will be fine .... Then the plane flew hapilly ever after ...
How come it's only Qantas' a380's that have problems? What about the Emirate's and singapore's a380's? how come they never have any emergencies/incidents?
...and why do people still argue Boeing v Airbus? Both have made amazing planes and both will continue to. Both have had issues. Some folks seem to forget about the DC10 and MD 11, aren't they also made in America?
@mcpcshowcaseHD QF32 just had a HP turbine failure on Number 2, the explosive force sent various bits of the cowling raining all over parts of Indonesia. This isn't the first time Trent have had problems with these engines.
@blampa I heard at about 4.30am this morning. Relieved everything is OK i.e. no loss of life/aircraft. I believe the affected aircraft is VH-OQA the same one featured in this video. Of course the emergency in this video is very minor compared to what happened today.

hillberg100 1 year ago
The Airbus Does NOT meet the criteria and standards in the U.S. Federal Air Regulations,You can thank the IACO receprical agreements, If you Don't belive it read the F.A.R.s on line and ask your self ,does this beast realy meet the standards? It was such a short comming that the last adminastrator signed it off and quietly retired,As the lower offices didn't want to touch it.

@hillberg100 its ICAO not IACO

theres somthing to take from this
alow a third runway at heathrow then you won't get so many problems like this
also is it just me or does it seem only to be Quantas A380's that are having troubles?

@mcpcshowcaseHD That's reality. How about the Qantas A380 who suffered an engine explosion and had to make an emergency landing in Singapore just last month? I am not saying I want to see people die! Think of what could have happened? The engine shrapnel could have cut flight control systems, and that's not good. There are flaws that will and have reared their ugly head on the A380, like all aircraft.
pelagic6 1 year ago
@pelagic6
you are an asshole
Atomcitypasi 1 year ago
@Atomcitypasi I'm not saying that in a sinister way. New aircraft designs have flaws that are sometimes not caught during tests resulting in a crash or near crash. After investigation, changes can be made to make the aircraft more flight worthy. I'm an asshole for saying this? This happens, it is a fact. I love how youtube people just throw comments out there about a person based purely on speculation.

Seems to be a pattern of human error on Quantas planes at the moment. I'm thinking the engine problems are sabotage.

Stop blablabla the same event on a boieng yesterday with a 747 from the same airport ...
it's not airbus boieng rolls problem, it's a human problem on the qantas mecanical services ...

Hey man can you please tell me what was the location you took the video from? I usually go the 27L for spotting. never knew you could see departures from 27R at that close.
tahlil 1 year ago
@tahlil As you probably know the arrival was filmed from Myrtle Avenue (27L). To film at 27R I stood on the Northern Perimeter Road near the Renaissance Hotel. If you checkout my website (links in the video description) I have included a link to Google Maps so you can get to this location. Hope this helps. Let me know (",)

@tahlil what airport id
pricelessppp 1 year ago
@pokoc4, maybe if you compare how many boeings and how many airbus aircrafts operate worldwide u wouldnt speak out so loudly. When u have 100 boeings and and 20 airbus the chance a boeing aircraft will have a problem as first is...how high?

Qantas is a great airline. Being Australian myself, I've always flown with them to America.Maybe a bird flew into the Rolls Royce Engine ? It happens every so often.
glennmach 1 year ago
Early in 2010 the whole European airspace was closed down because of Icelandic vonlcanic eruptions, Qantas 32's flihgt route is very near to Merapi Volcano in Indonesia wich is breaking out at the moment, i think there is a good chance that ash caused the trouble, by the way how many Airbus 380 crashed in the past? ZERO! How many Airbus in the last 20 years? 4-5? How many Boeings? 30-40? that should answer wich aircraft is more secure. And for the notice Rolls-Royce engines are the best quality.

She's a beauty that one. Look how she dwarfs that 737.

Sooksawaspakdee961 1 year ago
@Sooksawaspakdee961 Let's not get too carried away until the cause of the accident can be fully understood. At least the A380 was able to land safely despite damage to the wing.
mcpcshowcaseHD 1 year ago
@mcpcshowcaseHD Hey, wait a minute, so the A380 in this video is QF32 ?? If it is, then it's the same A380 that suffered engine damage today. Am I right?? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Boeingloverzz 1 year ago
@Boeingloverzz QF32 is the QANTAS flight number which is London Heathrow > Sydney Kingsford Smith (via Singapore Changi). The aircraft in the video is registered VH-OQA (named Nancy-Bird Walton) which is the same aircraft that suffered the uncontained engine failure today (4 November)
mcpcshowcaseHD 1 year ago
@mcpcshowcaseHD the bird is jinxed!!!

@DRIFTDISEASE Engine number 2 exploded.

it was probably volcanic ash that caused the engine to overheat and shit itself as we say in the business.

@Romerjon17 Lol 1 million? That wont even buy a decent house. Let alone the largest commercial passenger airplane in the world. Its about 317.2–337.5 million in United States of America currency.

...and why do people still argue Boeing v Airbus? Both have made amazing planes and both will continue to. Both have had issues. Some folks seem to forget about the DC10 and MD 11, aren't they also made in America?
TheWids 1 year ago
I think QF 32 goes to Melbourne not Sydney.
TheWids 1 year ago
@TheWids QF31/QF32 is London-Singapore-Sydney and vice versa.
mcpcshowcaseHD 1 year ago
@mcpcshowcaseHD QF32 just had a HP turbine failure on Number 2, the explosive force sent various bits of the cowling raining all over parts of Indonesia. This isn't the first time Trent have had problems with these engines.
blampa 1 year ago
@blampa I heard at about 4.30am this morning. Relieved everything is OK i.e. no loss of life/aircraft. I believe the affected aircraft is VH-OQA the same one featured in this video. Of course the emergency in this video is very minor compared to what happened today.
