  • Oh NOW the Gamilons can hit the broad side of a barn

  • Good point! Why didn't Desslok talk to the Magellan Empire first and ask them what they were doing? Then try to work something out? No, Desslok just had to start atacking right away, resulting in vicious damage, then ultimate destruction for Gamalon and Iscandar. In short, the chacotic end result was all Desslok's fault because he did not THINK before brutally atacking the unknown miners and delicate planet. Still, you've got to love the guy!

  • 9:13 two Kodias!

  • @ohvist yeah, but when i fall, i don't automatically kneel. He's overcome with grief. It would be natural for him to scrunch up into a ball and cry for 2 hours(I would)

  • hmm Gamilus people sure are wonderful when it comes to negotiations

  • I just wonder why Iscandar around 6:45 is transparent...?

  • I just noticed but Desslar identified the mining ships BEFORE the radar! I wonder what the radars were doing..

  • Oops. Sorry folks. didn't mean to post, twice. Any notice hoe the noobie immediately looked DOWN in embarresment after Kodai warned him NOT to relax? BAKA Space pilot!

  • I meant I disagree with czechiod(respectfully) concerning Deslok's voice. Also, Dessler made peace with the Star Force,. But he, like anybody, might have pent up anger issues over loosing an entire home world to ONE lone battle ship. He returns home to take his leave of the whole planet, to say a fond farewell, and instead he finds some un-known vultures sucking the last bits of life out of the place. No wonder he blew his stack! Hey, the Japanese used real space measurements, not mega-meters.

  • I disagree. I think the American voice actor did a superb job sounding in control with a creepy non-chelance(spelling?). Remember how he sounded when he went mad after dragging the Star Force down to Gamilon with tractor-beam thingys? Or when he addressed his commanders and explained the Gamalon's present geological conditions? I can sympathize with Desler's reaction to an alien force on his world. He may have made peace with the Star Force, but...More Above.

  • is this going to be the first time we are rooting for the gamilas to win?

  • Brilliant thinking Desslok. Next time you might want to hail the unknown ships before attacking them.....

  • I don't understand this movie. Didn't Deslock jettison himself in Farewell Yamato movie?

  • @loboblast This is a sequel to "Comet Empire" TV series which is parallel to "Farewell," where most of the main characters survive.

  • @loboblast Alternate timeline. This happened after the second season where he just left and the Yamato/Argo survived in a severely damaged state after the Deux Ex Machina destruction of the Comet Empire's super battleship.

  • Desslok: "well if that's all it took to blow up Gamilon, I guess these guys did us a favor. We could have been wiped out by our own planet while mining it, not to mention when Star Force attacked..."

  • My daughter commented on this episode:

"I never thought I would get to see Dessler feel sorry about anything!"

  • @Restitutus She is right. Dessler is so unreal. Just attractive to many just because he is cool, but a typical of enemy officers in 70's and 80's sci-fi war robot anime. They loved blonde, good-looking bad guys with some sad past. Don't ask me why.

  • They left the planet for good and we just passing by... New race was just mining materials, no aggressive actions were taken but those Gamilus boys...No negotiations! Gotta love that Dessler!

  • Imagine what he would sound like if it was his american dubbed voice saying "our gamilas is gone. even though the planets end was destined... I didnt expect the end to be so cruel." He wouldnt sound serious, because his voice in the american dub is the not somber sounding voice. and Im still wondering how he fell and ended up kneeling...

  • BTW, the sub-titles of the first two seasons say Gamilus but the pronunciation is clearly Gamilas. Which one is right?

  • @Restitutus The dub says Gamilon(the original dub, the one where Desslok sounds like he inhales helium)

  • I agree. I love the sound of Eddie Allan's voice but it's hard to take seriously when Dessler is having an introspective moment. He probably could do a better job now that the rest of the films are out now and he can see the full change that Dessler's character undergoes.

  • @czechoid123 that would be like star wars with a pop music sound track

  • @czechoid123 Talan tripped him.

  • Dessler, the tragic anti-hero!

It's nice to see after getting their butts kicked over-and-over by the Yamato the Gamilus fleet still has some punch left in it :)

  • 2:50 Desslok is actually saying, "What, they have bigger dicks? BOMB THEM!"

  • aggressive negotiations

  • Lord Desslar never was one for diplomacy...He's more of an 'aggressive negotitions' kind of guy!
