Great start for tutorials, hopefully someone starts a basic series like this for new people if you do not continue.

If anyone needs a different definition for a step. a step is a frame, think of a cartoon, multiple frames make up a few seconds (by default, 30steps = 1 second in GM) so anything you put in the step event is updated every frame. Like the 'move twaords' action that needs updated x and y values of your player's position.

the coding i used and it works is

x= -- player(name of object.x

y= -- player.y

when you put in the coordinates, dont type obj_player, type the name of the objects...so if you just called the object player, type "player.x" and "player.y"

This is becouse he named the object else then you did.. he probably thought it was easy to put an obj_ in front of every object name, if your object is called player, then use player.x or player.y if it's called pacman, then use pacman.x or pacman.y  anyways you get the point

Haha if you can manage to do that you are very good :P No, this programm is just for basic games like pacman or simple mazes and stuff.. not for runescape/hard 3d games etc..

yea...you can't make Crysis with this, lol. But you CAN make 3D games, and you can make a fairly good game you can even sell if you put alot of work into it

iv used this software and you cannot make levels BUT you can make more than 1 room and tell the software to go to one room after completing some kinda objective on the last room its not levels but its good for free software

thats EXACTLY the same as a level, looool, what are you talking about? lets say...you last for 60 seconds in the game, which you can do by creating an alarm, and when the alarm is up, go to the next room, OR you can even add a screen, like after 60 seconds go to "Level_2_ screen" where it says "Level 2", then after 3 seconds (with an alarm) go to next map, thats how you make levels
