  • watch for a few spelling errors

  • Excellent video, and the music goes well. Oh how much I miss this place, went up there awhile ago. Walked around the whole condo park. Not much left but memories. I did enjoy how they did the hill stairs over.

  • There's also a book about 5 highschool kids that stay overnight at Danvers just before it's torn doown, called Project 17

  • @vampiregirl0609 i have that and read it as well as met the author. in my opinion even though its target audiences are teens the book is horrible, badly written and adds nothing new to the table except for the patient subplot which ironically is written better than the rest of the book as far as the main plot is concerned.

  • Very nice video and good music to go with it. such lovely buildings, shame they had to give way for apartments..... thanks for posting

  • i wanna go

  • Awesome Tune,well done.

  • Thank you very much! XD This Pink Floyd tune fit in very well with it.

  • thats a damn shame. places like that are so frikin kool if theyre just left there and abandon. stupid assholes have to tear it down =(

  • Yes, they should have left it alone, I agree. It was a piece of history and the only reason the town of Danvers got a real boost in tourism in the first place.

  • Danvers state hospital was such a beautiful place with history Everywhere. im so pissed they tore it down. it just goes to show that no one really has any respect for stuff like this anymore

  • I agree with you, whole-heartedly! Absolutely unexceptable behavior on their part...

  • Session 9 was a great horror movie!

  • I agree! XD

  • I'm so sad that they tore it down for CONDO'S of all things.. :[[[ But excellent video !! :DDD

  • Wow, thanks so much...it was my first! :D I thought I did I really crummy job to tell you the truth...

  • no you didn't !! that's waaaaaaaaayyy better than mine !! :]]]

  • Aww, shucks! You're too kind. And your video is beautiful too!

  • Awesome video. I have a question, though; aren't you the one who wrote the Night at Danvers State story, on Deviantart? Because I read those rather recently, and they are amazing. Like, really really amazing. XD

  • I am the one who wrote "Night at Danvers State Hospital"...it's my baby! XD Was that how you cam across here?

  • I went up there a bunch of times never got in though=( did you? i heard voices up there, no joke.

  • You heard voices up there? OMG! I've heard that loads of people had those kinds of experiences before and it's scary to say the least. I never got a chance to visit Danvers State, though I would have liked to!

  • so none of these pictures are yours? i know it was so creepy! it was pretty clear too they were saying something about them being trapped and not wanting to go back to the Castle.

  • very good video.

  • Thanks!

  • Some people get Danvers State mixed up with Metropolitan State, either or,they are both very interestingly scary.

    Great video!! XoX

  • Thanks so much! XD

  • I knew it was on the national register but it was written that since the building and grounds had been properly documented, it was fine to release it for commercial use. Lots of useful fact in the vid, nice work :D

  • Thanks so much! :D

  • I think you did great for it being your first video. You need to give your self more credit pal.^^

  • Thanks. ^^

I got permission from a guy who took these pics to do this vid by the way, I just hope he doesn't mind the oopsies I made!

  • What a permission slip! ..."permission to perform an operation"???? That could mean anything from a tonsilectomy, to a brain transplant, to who knows what.

  • It sure does...I didn't even know that mental hospitals had those back then but they did. Scary, isn't it?

  • And, I would be willing to bet that any monkey who could hold a pen, could sign this type of a form, no matter what their motives or relationship to the patient.

  • That's true. A lot of people thought that this kind of thing would make the patients cured of their mental illness when in truth it made it worse.

  • Great job Tanith!!

  • Thank you! =)

  • What happppened to it?

  • it got turned into a condo

  • It's torn down and all gone...made into apartment buildings. Did you know that it was listed on the National Historic Register?

  • Nos :D Where exactally is it?

  • South of Boston I think...in the town of Danvers, MA.
