I saw this ad a bit ago on t.v. And yes it is sad that we have to have ads like this to try to stop murders. I don't know how to explain it without offending anyone but I understand why it was made the way it was.
There are so many things wrong with this I don't know where to begin!!!!!!!! It's almost as bad as a Saturday Night Live skit...Pretty sad when you have to dumb down to "gangsta" level and create a rap video about holding back from killing someone. Call yo mamma?? C'mon. Are the people who are suppose to see this the actual "killers"??

If so, I'm guessing they will be laughing their asses off and getting ready to do exactly what they see in this "commercial" just to fuel the fire. Good job guys!! The claim to #1 is just around the corner......Congrats
Whew I'd have a hard time allowing my child to play the part of the toddler who's seemingly threatened with violence here, and I certainly respect whoever agreed to do so.
This is a powerful and important message. Thanks for creating this.
I am the actor at the start of the commercial and it is interesting to me that people find it funny that we have a crime problem in Memphis that has earned us the number 2 most dengerous city in America. It real funny to joke about it until the problem hits home. There is absolutely nothing funnt about homicide. I have lost two close friends to violence in this city in this year alone. Somebody has to try to bring attention this problem. Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
well maybe if you would put effort into making your anti-crime campaign ads and not emphasize racial stereotypes, people might take you more seriously.
I was the cameraman and editor of these spots-which are in fact designed to look amateurish! The voice is Skip Pitts, the guitarist of "Shaft" fame. The group who produced these spots is diverse and committed to helping Memphians...and that ain't easy.

SlimRiggs, I agree. I especially don't get the killing people for alleged insults. And the gang craziness, that stuff just makes me sad.
Hey tell me, what is it he says at the beginning? I've never been able to understand it. "Your dog said you were... ? "

He is saying, "He's been your dog since you were shorties (kids), and you gonna shoot him?

It's amazing that this commercial even had to be made.

It makes me really depressed that we have to have tv commercials to remind people not to kill each other.

Not funny at all when young black men keep killing babies because they won't stop crying, it's sad !!

Ok. This may be a huge problem but
1. i doubt any man in the heat of a killing spree would stop and think of a commercial he saw on t.v. one time.
2. What's funny is that it is extremely amateur and overly dramatic.
I'm sorry if you don't agree; i still think this is funny
