How about not "less childish" but "modern" operating systems, such as XP post SP 2, Vista, 7, and even OS X I suppose. BSODs are a lot more rare in Windows these days, but at least they used the right version. Always annoying when fools show a Windows 9x era BSOD when showing NT-based versions.

Yeah, that works for me. I work in OSX professionally, but maintain a Kubuntu/XP sp3 machine at home along with my Macbook Pro. I downgraded the new PC I bought a year and a half ago from Vista back to the XP, and its been running a lot better, but I really don't use it for much system-wise except to photoshop now and then. OSX, I haven't ever had any problems with. Kubuntu runs fine, but I'm not using it for anything serious, mainly gaining familiarity with it out of sheer curiosity. Its nice.
