I read his story of how he returned to strongman competitions in 02' after the death of his mother. he trained for a month and won. he must really love wrestling because he could go so much further with strong man competitions.
people just dont know shit about powerlifting. In this video, henry is not fat. He built like a fuckin ox. thats how a powerlifter is supposed to look. The right combination of fat mixed with alot of muscle mass. The way hes built makes him seem fat but hes not. As for today, people gotta understand that the man's over 40 years old. its hard as shit to maintain T levels at that age. especially when you train naturally like henry does instead of using steroids.
This was, indeed, the first time Mark Henry competed on Raw, but this is not his first WWF match. That was at "In Your House: Mind Games" on September 22, 1996.
And to @evansislegend, Pillman has passed on two months prior to this.
@dublinfool25 He was indeed good at what he did you must admit. almost everyone at the time had their debut match Against the Brawler. He had the rare ability to make anyone look good without overselling.
@MrExposethetruth Yes he did, back in a time where the belt actually meant something and you had guys who could run with it for 6 months or more. Seems like nowadays they toss the belt around like a frisbie.
@dublinfool25 What do you mean the belt? The Brooklyn brawler Steve Lombardi. didn't win any belt I can think of. What I was saying was in response to your comment. "Everybodys favorite jobber...Mr. Steve Lombardi." I was saying he was a great jobber in his ability to make anyone look good, without overselling. Steve Lombardi I don't think gets enough credit for his ( for lack of a better term) Workmanship in the ring. He was really good at putting new guys over and making them look good.
@Vortexiii True, but the thing is, a little while before he was drafted to SD, Mark Henry had lost 100 pounds. That kinda puts things in perspective. He's not in the best shape, but he's in the best shape he's been in in years
because bam bam bigelows theme was not a part theme of bigelow. it was a generic theme. look the patriot in the wwf 1997 who has a feud with the late hart foundation. he has had the kurt angle theme ;)
@FiveStarGeneral88 As you can see, WWE Has censored the WWF Logo and they prolly removed Henry's music too. I watched the royal rumble 2002 and they censored the wwf logo and removed maven and undertaker's music
@imlaughing2death The WWF/WWE has recycled MANY theme songs. Compare Stone Cold's theme with that of Razor Ramon - same rhythm. Bill DeMott used the same theme as Marc Mero. Hacksaw Jim Duggan used a remixed version of Big John Studd's 1989 theme. Kurt Angle used a slight remix of The Patriot's theme. Even now, Ezekiel Jackson uses the 1998 Brawl For All theme with added lyrics.
god i miss JR :( its a slobberknocker ill tell yah that folks! rattlesnake, rattlesnake, god damn rattlesnake!!! He is truely the Jon Madden of Wrestling
