  • Wasn't Ronnie Dio in UFO at one time? It was Ritchie Blackmoore's band, if memory serves.

I was out sky watching during the Leonid showers years ago. Suddenly, the sky was lit up by several flashes going from south to north, low in the east. About 4 flashes, if I remember correctly. A couple of seconds after the last flash. . .BOOM!!!! It literally shook the ground. It shook up the group I was with so much that they wanted to leave. What the heck was this?

  • Fusion crust. Now I want some pie from Marie Callender's for some reason.

  • HELP!!! if a chondrite has fusion crust, does the fusion crust attract magnets more than the inside of the rock? Does the Iron-nickel from the inside of the rock somehow accumulate in the crust?

  • @9DragonMaster

no but if you hold it tight enough . . .

    you become SUPERMAN

and wear your undies on the outside

  • @stikitape214 lol

  • The video waas very informative, but I wasn't expecing the rock thing, but like another commenter said it does marry well.

I also had to realise that you are aiming at a wide specra of audience, meaning, at first I thought you were being patronising, presenting like you were on sesame street, so understanding that, keep up the video's, you have a good presentation manor for TV/Media.

Well it's better than my English grammer and spelling, (had to get that in so no one can diss my comment 2 quick.

  • i have in my possesion a meteorite around 60 years old that was found in england it weight is 80 grams any help with estimating a value on this from any one ...?

  • I bought my meteorite of ebay, just some regular seller who was selling a xbox, and a bunch of random stuff. She told me that she obtain her Meteorite through a old indian native who gave it to her when she was moving from texas. Wasn't sure if it was real or not, but the stone is extremely heavy and matches all descriptions that you said. So i'm really hoping it might be one, I think i'm gonna take it to the museum to make sure though.

  • My science teacher a couple years ago said to take a magnet and go across the ground with it and those that stick are most likely meteorites

  • Thanks, enjoyed tour video.

    Amsterdam, netherland / holland

  • I think I have some meteorites. They are small meteorites, smaller than a dime. They all stick to a magnet. I found them on a dried up sand bar near a creek. Can meteorites be smaller than a dime?

  • My friend timeline 1:48 - 1:55 ~ you got it reversed. I got three of them and put one is a stove flame for an hour. It only made the outer surface a little bit sticky like tar. And its heavy too, didnt know some are magnetic. Thanks for the info and very cool guitar playing. Sent you a friend invite, Hope you can add me. Sub your channel

  • Thanks for the info, looking back to the times i was around Yuma AZ. for a few months I found things like what you show not knowing what they were oh well they are still there I am sure not liked they went anywhere.

  • yeah dude, thanks for the info. One question. Do meteorites have any monetary value, i.e. to collectors. Another question would be: are there different types of meteorites and are some rarer than others? Or are they basically all the same?

  • Looks like a big piece of hashish. LOL.

  • I know a dude that goes out and finds them and gets good money for them. He wont tell me where he sells thm though. I live in the desert southwest and think I cna go out there and find a few. Not just for the money but the adventure. Mighty fine chops on the axe too major dude.

  • Fan of UFo too... and learned that my lump of stuff is probably NOT a metorite, oh well! Rock on! (PS see my site for vid of my band performing)

  • thanks God !!!! @ 0:32

  • Hey I have a rock that has rust all over it but it has some white dots too is this a meteorite???

  • Does the burnt crust flake off easily or is it firmly attached?

  • 3.30 Get the rizla's out dude.

  • I want the Gibson behind him hanging on the wall. Please send it to me,lol. I also play guitar. Ive been playing for roughly 13 years.

  • Are meteorites worth a lot of money?

I read that pea sized ones are worth about 30 grand!

  • Very patronising.

  • -_-

I HAVE MAYBE OVER A THOUSAND OF THOSE IN MY BACKYARD!

(or maybe they're just magma bombs)

  • great information. Thanks for sharing this good info.

  • Cool vid man! I was just wondering if you could tell me why nickel is so abundant in meteorites and not here on earth? Seems to me if earth is made of the same stardust it would have about the same amount of nickel in it. Or is it the meteorites with nickel are the only ones we know how to identify?

  • nice guitar play =D

  • Dude your awesome!

  • Dude your awesome,!!!!!!!!!

  • I love your bathroom. Can we just hang out there for a while?Together?

  • nice video

  • that meteorite could of been the size of a house or it might even had life on it, which means that with that you could prove life lived or still lives where this came from

  • I was really surprised to find UFO's Rock Bottom, it's one of my favourite songs! Michael Schenker is a really awesome guitarist.

    Very cool vid, man!

    on amanda street article

  • Good info thanks for sharing

  • thanks very informative 5 stars

  • Great guitar playing. UFO.

  • So if its not brown on the inside, then its not a meteorite? I was metal detecting and it went off as iron. It will hold a magnet on it. I hit it with a hammer really hard and was able to take some chips off and see a layer which I believe is fusion crust. The inside is speckled with tiny shiny things. Any help?

  • @mcskatin no not necessarily. just look for the fusion crust. it would be on the outer area.

  • There are many different forms of meteorites. So that also makes them different in price also. So if you think you found one do your research. When you do the magnet thing make sure its a really strong magnet not just a refridgerator magnet.

  • u pepole do realize there worth about

    $10,000-$100,000 to univercitys(SP?) right?

  • very informative. I live in Bakersfield and am sure I have seen some meteorites before! Great video. Well made too. I learned a lot by watching it. Thanks!

  • I got to see UFO play at Cartys in Houston Tx. When I was 19 they really rocked the house. I am 41 and they are the only rock group that I have seen in concert. We had tickets to see Ozzy but our driver got waisted and we didn't make it to the show. I have really taken interest in metal detecting and hope I find some meterorites I save everything I find so if i get one I will keep it. WE have gone to mostly country performers concerts I just worked too much to seek out the rockers.

  • I have a bag with 3 kilograms of meteorite rocks, i was buy in a street market for 15 dollars!!!

  • hello. so, last summer i was pondering around one of my hoses fields and i found this really cool rock. i was intentionally looking for meteorites cause i was watching your vids on them. the rock is about 3/4 of an inch across, one side is really bumpy and knarelld and a blacking brown. its kinda flat and the other side is brown and rusted. the bumpy side looks like it has a large crack in it. do you think i could be a meteor? thnx

  • i have a bag full of small meteorite stones

  • Jimi Hendrix was from outta space :P

  • Comment removed

  • Ohh lol rock.... rock and rock

  • from what ive heard the best place to find them is the north pole on the ice sheet cos if u find a rock theres only 2 ways its got there 1 its fallen from the sky or 2 some prick has carried it 400 miles and dumped it there

  • dont meteorites contain Iradium (IR)

  • whats that

  • if i got a meteorite like that i'll make it a necklace or a mini bracers it said to bring good luck. One question how much is it? or isnt that priceless?

  • Still wondering on our ROCK/SLAG/METEORITE...

    LPfVtZMFVvA

I've heard both ways and from your videos it has characteristics of both...

    Final verdict?

You are the expert and we could use your input.

    Thanks,

    Scott

  • ur lucky.... i cant wait till i can travel places like were you find you meteorites... I think it would be cool to find that then piece of gold..... even though both would be awsome... But i just like outerspace more.

  • Hello,

Great video. I was wondering if you could check out what we found today. Meteorite? Or Meteor-wrong?

    LPfVtZMFVvA

It has many characteristics, but no real cracks, is non-magnetic, but metal

If it's not a meteorite... What the heck is it???

    Any input is appreciated!

    Thanks, Scott

  • Please mister tell me that you are a techer ? If not you shoul definately become one ! :D The kids would love to learn about space in this way ! Keep up the good work ! =)

  • very useful thx for the help

  • Great, looking forward to get a decent metal detector and this video goes to my favorites list, thanks

  • By the way great guitar work! Keep it up!!!

  • I don't know anymore what I have...but it's still a cool rock...seems like something very hot cooked it...and it's not copper slag or gypsum...spacial hematite...Are there any "hybrid" rocks that are meteorites or uncatelogued types that they haven't discovered yet? hmmmmm...

  • big mistake throwing the meteorite like that because it breats into tiny fragments i own a 6billion year old meteorite and always tiny peaces fall off i no longer use magnets

  • Neat!

  • I want to go find one! You have motivated me!!!

  • The thing is, if that's a real meteorite, you're holding a few thousand dollars in your hand.
