  • Ok, I might be late coming to the party but this LOOKS GOOD. Just a question for ya, how much roast beef? 1lb or two lbs. for this?

  • @MrOrion72 For 6 sandwiches use 1 1/2 lbs of roast beef. Hope you enjoy the sandwich!

  • To put cheese on an Italian Beef Sandwich, and calling it Chicago Italian Beef, is about as authentic as omitting the Cheese from a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, and calling it Philly Cheese Steak.

  • ok i dont have your toping. but the rest of the shit i have. so i am going to try doing this ;

  • You are NOT supposed to BOIL the beef "gravy". It kills it. Your beef gravy should be at 170 degrees. Also the beef gravy needs some sort of fat in it along with the beef broth.

  • italian beefs don't have cheese!

  • Good video but no cheese, not here in Chicago.

  • @matrixmaster79 I travel to Chicago for business regularly and tons of places advertise Cheezy Beefs and they all spell it the same way. So you can get cheese on your beef sandwich

  • I am from chicago but now live in atlanta, I always wanted to make a beef sandwich recipe, we made it this weekend and it was delicious! I was worried about the cheese but it actually turned out awesome!

  • This is great news, cobra03x! Thank you, thank you for taking the time to let us know you enjoyed the sandwich.

  • She said stock, it's not a stocccck it's a brottthhhhhh

  • @01svtlighting they both mean/are the same thing you dunce..

  • @yondaime1324 No, a stock is an extraction from the bones and a broth is the extraction from the meat that's being used

  • Thank you VERY Much!

  • There are many good Italian beef places in Chicago that put Mozerella on Italian beef sandwiches. There was one years ago that used to dip the bread in juice, put cheese on top, and bake them wrapped in foil. This recipe isnt so bad but the main beef any Italian would have with her is her shortcut when making the beef. It has to be cooked well before slicing or you cant get it thin enough. Plus the trick is garlic juice. Its like an extract.

  • Who the hell cares if she puts cheese on it? Maybe she likes it that way?

Oh ho ho true chicagoians wouldn't do that! OH NO Get OVER yourselves, god.

    That sandwich looks tasty.

  • We love what we do because we can experiment. If you don't want cheese - leave it off! I happen to like it with a little cheese added. Thank you for watching!!

  • No true Chicagoian would put cheese on that sandwich.

  • Cheese? Wait what? WTF?

  • yeah she did that all wrong first off like yall said no cheese and when u dip u dip the whole thing not just the spin as she said and actually u can request sweet peppers but what they actually put on the top is chopped celery and red pepper flakes

  • Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. We welcome your knowledge and expertise in this ongoing discussion on delicious food. Come back often!

  • @lovebigazz It's never wrong to put Italian cheese on an Italian sandwich. London Broil from your local Wal Mart deli works great - ask them to get some in if yours doesn't have any. Now one MIGHT be able to argue that using London Broil is wrong, but I've never had anyone do it through a mouthful of one of these things. ;)

  • There is a sandwich shop here that makes these and they use pickled hot peppers and DROWN the sandwich in au jus if you want. You gotta eat it with a fork. SO good.

  • No cheese...you should have sweet peppers too! But most importantly, no cheese!

  • no cheese!

  • Wow!! that was the best looking roast beef sandwich I've ever seen, Thank you, Caitlin!!
