It still doesn't lay very good in the hand though.

It's a real pain to use the right thumbstick while trying to press the right trigger.

I was very disappointed. They just don't care about comfort, the japanese people at Sony should consider that, I'm sitting here hoping that some of the 3rd party grips are going to smooth it out. Played at a local store for 10 minutes and my fingers fell asleep and it hurt a bit, kind of like with the PSP: Go! :/

@xxtimetimexx Well, it is a really cool piece of technology, but it was an awkward time because of the iPhone dominating the mobile gaming market. They should have released the vita at a time when the iPhone was going down in popularity on the mobile gaming platform. I understand why the released it now though because if they sat on it too long, nintendo could have taken advantage of that and developed something to match the vita.

Rear panel = R2 and L2 in FPSs. So like in MW2 you would press the right side of the touch panel to throw grenade and left side to use equipment

I hope the touch pads/touch screen isn't mandatory when playing a game, if there's no option to switch off the touch sensitivity, then I'll be pissed. I'm just talking about games only. Same goes for motion sensitivity, I don't want to have to tilt my Vita all the time when playing WipeOut.

The thing is, Touch pads DO work for some types of games, for example, simple games like Fruit Ninja or Angry Birds, I find work the best with a Touch Screen. It pisses me off when they take something like a First Person Shooter for example, and try to adapt it to certain control styles, like motion controls or touch screens, it just doesnt work. But it does work for more simple, casual games.

The thing is when most people (like me) buy an NGP they probably want it for more hardcore mature titles and as we can both agree it just takes you out of the game when your scratching the back of your psp to climb a rope.

It has a new card that look like a SD card or DS card. Theres no UMD slot so no physical backwards compatibility. PSP games ,PS1,PS Minis, and more can still be played on the Vita but you have to get them from the Playstation Store.

Well it looks nice and all but I really hope it is a little more reliable then the PSP. I had one and the on/off switch stopped working a few weaks after the waranty was used up. Not to mention the games, disks, on a hand heald?!? What were they thinking, all those little plastic cases did was make it so dust got in but wouldn't come out. Eather way, I'm to cheap to buy a new hand heald any way, maybe when the VITA 2 comes out I will buy a used VITA 1.
