Yes, it technically is deleted. It was never shown in the episode when it originally aired in 1995 or whatever.
They don't seem like deleted scenes because the episodes you watch on DVD or on TV now, always have deleted scenes included. This is because when the shows originally aired in the USA on NBC, they had to be 22 minutes without commercials. Now that Friends is in syndication and the opening credits are cut down to be much shorter, they can include more scenes.
none of the scenes that say "deleted scene" are actually deleted.. i just finished watching the whole box set over a period of 1 week until yesterday.
theres a box with 10 season where this scene doesnt exist, and theres another dvd-box where there are like a new scene in every episode, where this may exist. it states on the back of the dvd-cover "scenes you have never seen before"
i'm from canada and i find that sometimes just for running time episodes get edited (we also have alot of american channels up here...so uptight censors might be the cause of that too) - other times i find that the episodes arent edited at all. at least with the dvds they keep everything intact :)
if they broadcast it on tv and it is absolutely necessary to cut it down to 20 minutes that's ok i guess
but why do i have to look for deleted scenes on youtube even if bought the dvd box for 75€?
and some of the scenes are just loike 6 seconds long.... i mean who is watching the show and says: "You know this 6 second clip makes the episode way to long so cut it and remember not to include it on the dvd box"

All because it may be available to you, doesn't mean it's available everywhere else, thus, making it deleted.
(and the DVD episodes are different than the tv broadcasts because they re-include the deleted scenes)
