  • What was that supossed to be David Cronenberg's Centipede? xD

  • 0:14

Yes yes... Invasion blah bla- BUDGET CUTS? NOOOOOOOOO!

  • Someone already post this, but damn the music sounds like music from Phantom of the Opera.

Also, too bad I never saw this ad back then, but I love Centipede anyway. :D

  • ed wood would be proud

  • the more i see it the more it looks like house in a fat suit,

  • the hobo looks just like house.....

  • Now, it's been years since I've played centipede, but I think they may have taken some liberties with the commercial.

  • Man, when you had crappy graphics... you REALLY had to be creative on your advertisements which is why 90% of the commercials of the 80's rely highly on creativity and don't show any gameplay footage. Nowadays, it's almost all gameplay footage.

  • cocaines a hell of a drug

  • It does sound like Phantom of the Opera. Thing is, this commercial aired 3 or 4 years before Phantom of the Opera premiered in 1986.

  • Now this is just Terrific! good song, and funny images. I must get this game and play it!

  • 0:36 "It was a crazy party last night "

  • Cetntipede was my best game at the arcade in my day. I was always most of the top 10. However, this is the creepiest freaking thing I ever saw

  • He became the Human Centipede! :0

  • @Marika98 Well i seen worse ways to become a Human Centipede xD

  • @Marika98

Well, at least he don't need to eat shit, hahaha.

  • Chick from "The Screaming Skull?" 0:36

  • I can't be the only one who thought it sounded like the Phantom of the Opera.

  • I'm tearing up from laughter at the 'Budget Cuts' Sub-Headline.

  • HOLY BALLS OF JESUS!!! BUDGET CUTS! NO WAY!

  • This was somewhat more disturbing than The Human Centipede. That's an achievement few commercials can boast.

  • the song is so unfitting it makes it even more disturbing

  • this is possibly the greatest commercial song of all time. to anyone who can put this into an mp3, I will donate to you my first born son

  • 0:08 I don't think that was an arm...

  • You just never know when a giant centipede might leave a copy of some game lying next to your Atari. Should you make the mistake of playing it, your TV will eat you, transform you into a hideous monstrosity, and vomit you back out, leaving you with no recourse but to beg for death. The moral of the story: if a game you don't remember buying suddenly appears next to you system, DON'T PLAY IT!

Only the cocaine-fueled 80's could have brought us such an ad.

  • Centipedes aren't insects, but this commercial is so awesome I'll let that slide.

  • nowadays kids have everything served on the table thanks high technologies....in those times we had to explore a lot our imagination....haha

  • DAAAAAH NOOOO! HERE LET ME GIVE YOU A HAND! AAAH NOOO!

  • so Andrew Lloyd Webber plagiarized not only Pink Floyd, but also an Atari ad... brilliant!!!

  • Glad I'm not the only one who thought Phantom of the Opera there. That worried me for a second.

  • @Ikillunao That or "You Are My Hiding Place", some hymn.

    v=Co6HXUN19AY

  • Phantom of the opera!?

  • Hey he should be glad he turned into a centipede as opposed to becoming part of the human centipede.

  • What the fuck did I just watch? And why would he ask for the exterminators? "Okay, I'm just gonna call this 'Jack the Ripper' fellow and..."

  • is that phantom of the opera?

  • When your commercial has more of a plotline than the video game itself, you know something is wrong.

  • @Faybro I agree with you in part but in those times there wasn't too much to "talk about" in those games. read my previous comment, contemporary times makes cover games less interesting that the game itself, in other words, old cover games used to talk a lot about the game, trying that your "own" imagination do to rest. Nowadays thanks new technologies kids stopped imagining because they already have all in the powerful games you can find in any store today, even much better plots than movies.

  • I for one welcome our new Chilopod overlords since I can't win at Centipede.

  • Haven't screamed so hard since I got my tongue caught in an electric fan

  • ". . .CEEENTIPEDE ! ! ! . . . CEEENTIPEDE ! ! !"

Sounds like some kind of awesome Darkwave or something.

  • The song is a version of b-movie "nowhere girl" theme.

  • it sounds like the tune to phantom of the opera

  • @falseapology3 Sounds like if Phantom of the Opera had a bastard child with B-Movie's "Nowhere Girl"

  • @falseapology3 What song? I can't stop listening to this!

  • @Kolbe22 it's the song "phantom of the opera" from phantom of the opera lol

  • Centipedes? In MY vag-ideogames?

  • This song is just WAY too addictive. I feel like I could listen to it all day... @_@

Oh, if only there were an mp3 of the song...

  • @fuzzymoochicken Totally!

  • @fuzzymoochicken It's called the phantom of the opera, by andrew lloyd webber I know it's so underground right?

  • @KevsterJester42 The Phantom of the Opera musical came out in 1986, so this commercial predates it by around half a decade or so. Looks like Andrew Lloyd Webber owes Atari some money, right? =P

  • 0:32 WTF? Did that woman just shag the one and only centipede?

  • why would that guy want an exterminator? he'd be killed. 80's humor was so corny.....

  • omg i almost died laffing,, ahahah

  • Was that Jim Carrey?

  • the beginning is hilarious

  • this song would have been bad ass properly placed in napoleon dynamite

  • XD I am literally crying from laughing so hard.

  • Wow. That was truly awesome! (~_~) :D

    };~{)

    That really takes me back...nice!

  • This is probably the most horrifying and awesomest game commercial EVER.

  • STOCK FOOTAGE FTW

  • more ads should be like this

  • this song sounds so much like the phantom of the opera song

  • what movie clips did they use?

  • i want the song from this commercial, its damn good !!

  • The song is actually pretty damn good. Seriously, some industrial band should remix it.

  • Gregor Samsa's got nothing on this.

  • In all honesty, what the fuck did I just watch?

  • @InsaneRema An arthropod version of the deleted ending for "Little Shop of Horrors"

  • In the beginning it sounds like Phantom of the Opera!

  • In games they came to me

    Those centipedes

    Got sucked through my TV

    So scared- I peeeeeed

    Yeah, same here, dude!

  • That is fucking horrifying. Splendid game though.

  • Especially at the end, when he screams for an exterminator, which I guess is a kid friendly way of saying "Dear God please kill me!"

  • Never gets old.
