  • you can talk briefly but play more the sounds what sells the unit. when sellsman try to convince you through word of mouth and not by actual sound of unit something wrong.

  • This is a great unit overall, it takes some tweaking but it sounds great recorded and live through a power amp......

  • I think that the guys at Digidesign are brilliant. Who else could have designed a patch that sounds like two guys talking for ten minutes while simultaneously wasting our time. Bravo!!

  • Too much talking!!!!!!!!!

  • would i be able to plug in and record a MXL 990 with the eleven rack?

  • I'm gonna get one of these along with a new amp, and i was wondering... should I use a Vox AC30 or Fender Hot Rod?

  • well people need to know what the specs are haha i found this very informative.

  • pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff , can we hear the SOUND ????????????????????

  • if you want to hear the actual playing: 00:07 , then at 03:30 , again at 07:24 , then 08:38 and finally at 09:54 ...i hope i didn't miss anything :D This video was very informative but people would probably want more actual playing than talk! Thanks for the video and sorry my bad english

  • was wondering if someone could help me?

i just got eleven rack with pro tools

and ive got headphones but no sound comes out of them. even when i know my guitar has been recorded. the sound doesnt come through... ive tried with other headphones but it still doesnt work :/

    any suggestions?

    thank you

  • M one D one? My die? I've heard of those!

    But wtf is MIDI????!

  • STOP TALKING !!

  • "My Di", that was the funniest part!

  • 7:24 Steve Vai I'm guessing.

  • Does this product compatible as audio interface in Cubase 5??

  • and yeah wouldn't call this a demo, more like an overview

  • Good Idea, need more inputs like the Digi002/003, and a dedicated footswitch in order to compete with Line 6-

Probably sounds better than Line6, but I wouldnt know because THIS VID DOESNT ACTUALLY DEMO THE SOUNDS

  • This company makes quality but everything I see from them is full of duochebaggery. They are incompatible with many other products. digidesign is the apple of the music world. I'll Avoid them like the plague.

  • SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!! DEAR GOD!!!! Plus, the camera stayed on you the whole freaking time! I want to see/ hear the damn product!!!!

  • dude you know what would be so cool IF PEOPLE ACTUALLY GOT A FUCKING STUDIO AND STOPPED ASKING THEIR PARENTS FOR PLASTIC BULLSHIT AND FUCK BACK OFF TO THEIR GARAGEBAND AHHHAHHA FUCKIN SCRUBS

  • I guess he's just playing that through studio monitors?

  • Ordered mine. Haven't slept in three days...........

  • @RockerBrandGuitars hey mate, have you got it yet? how happy are you with it? considering one myself :) thanks

  • @flamen89 I like it. i now need a new computer to run the pro tools software.

  • I herd you can plug this stright into inhouse gear... wow This would save me time and money.. and possably getting gear stolen!!!... also i herd its not the best but i belive its what your trying to do... if your in a cover band ... i belive this will do the job just fine.. if ur a pro maybe not so much...

  • Axe FX sucks , Fractal sucks .

  • @TheSAJ11 y?

  • @Equestional Because there is 308 presets , aboput 70 of them are usefull , the rest are redundant , my old digitech 2101 sounds more organic than the fractal ( real tube inside ) , not to mention fractal customer service sucks , when they refunded my money they took 4 bucks plus shipping , when i asked why , they said it is for the box !!! I said what .. you charged me 4 bucks for the box , total assholes , keep in mind i sent everything the same way i got it .

  • @TheSAJ11 damn that sucks man, i guess ur right, its probably better to buy a real tube amp (u can buy like 3 tube preamps for the cost of a fractal :D ) id go with an engl preamp. cheers!

  • I picked one up yesterday at guitar center, checked it out, and brought it right back this morning. More of the same digital crap! It does not sound like or respond like a real amp. Trust me; Total waste of time for almost $900.00.

  • @android5150 At this period of time i think its safe to say that only the axe fx comes reaaaally close as an all in one solution. Its not cheap but for what its offering and the quality it brings in worths every single penny. If i wanted something like that i would save and go with the axe fx.

  • How does this stand against the Axe FX Ultra?

  • Nothing has ever and nothing ever will sound like a cranked all TUBE British amp pushing AIR. The greatest tones and sounds you have ever heard were recorded with cranked amps and simple SM57 mics, PERIOD.

  • Comment removed

  • I have one and they defanately don't have the time to show case all the sounds you can get out of it.So many varations and ways to change sound they'd be there for years.

  • I guess it's cool it comes with a ProTools interface but then I already have an interface and would rather invest that 1000 in a good tube amp, then I wouldn't even need all the crappy efx

  • If you don't use your guitar, you should put it in a case.

  • shut up and play man!

  • Jesus Christ! you are worse than The Tone King! STOP TALKING and get on with the demo.

  • Comment removed

  • I bet just like all other modelers this one falls short of sounding like a real amp through a PA. I would prefer a modern metal chunky sound like an Engl Powerball and I bet this thing won't cut it.

  • haha M1 D1 fail

  • Does anyone know if this has a intelligent pitch harmonizer?

  • @mullen2105 No it doesn't unfortunately... :-/

  • @Wallimann It doesn't!? 11R has nothing special and is way too overpriced. I'd rather bank out more money for the Axe-fx ultra. at least you can do more with it.

  • Cool video. Needs to be renamed thought. Eleven Rack WALKTHROUGH would be more appropriate

  • this guy reminds me on tony stark(iron man)

  • bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla and the sound?

  • "fairly obvious buh bluh bluh buh" typical digidesign attitude. still ordering one though.

  • It looks cool and everything but I wish he would have spent more time jamming with it!

  • what a waste of time. Out of the whole 10minute review he spent less than 20secs playing the thing. Stop yapping and start playing. Hearing the rig is what makes people gear....

  • @tobywan12 He's showing all the features which some ppl want to know. there are vids of ppl playing so chill lol

  • @tobywan12 if you have protools you should already know how it sounds eleven sounds amazing

  • @tobywan12 yeah, well I found this very valuable cause I own it and cant get the software to work correctly..

it would of been nice to see it work lol......

  • Haha, I really only noticed it because I'm a biker guy too and I actually really dig the shirt. You need to go buy a couple more copies of the shirt and just make it your official uniform from now on!

  • I just wanna know if that guys owns a different T shirt... cause every Eleven rack vid I've seen includes him wearing this exact shirt...

  • Hah - that's because they were all filmed on the same day, pretty much. :-)

Now you've pretty much determined that it has to become standardized - I'm going to have wear that shirt for every video from now on, and it's already falling apart. :-)

  • That reply was only for hirskdubbi by the way

  • blah blah blah. Spend less time yapping and on your hairdo and play the damn thing.

  • less talking...more playing.

  • will this work with m-powered PT8?

  • my question exactly... anybody know???

  • lol u could look at it another way of course...if it sounds good on here then it probably is

  • I wish for once on these demos of the eleven they would spend a bit more time playing the actual thing. Maybe there's a reason. Or at least a demo into a decent guitar amp.

  • @Guitarman55555 Ultimately, you can't gauge it on youtube on your computer's sound system. If you are really interested in the sound, go listen.

  • Well i would refute that as my computers sound system comprises of an maudio/avid profire610 firewire audio interface connected to a very high quality monitoring system so to gauge it is exactly what i would like to do thanks. Let me be the judge

  • Well I have a ProTools HD 2 rig with Digidesign RM monitors and I wouldnt trust YouTube clips to judge sound quality of a piece of hardware.

YouTube re-compreses everything and alters sound quality pretty significantly.

  • I am totally aware of the sound compression that goes on in utube. But that said I can listen to the Guitar World demo's of the dual terror and fender champ 57 re-issue from the onboard audio into my lcd monitor speakers and tell they are awsome pieces of kit. Maybe my ears are just so much better lol, but probably more to do with the fact that i know what i'm listening for.

  • ...if you say so. lol...

  • WELL THEN LET US JUDGE U,YOURE AN ASS

  • Ur the one looking at gear reviews on utube so ur the bigger ASS lol

  • ooooooooo...k

  • do you need to hook it up to an interface or is it a standalone interface?

  • Comment removed

  • Thats a shallow analysis. I actually own both Eleven and the AXE-FX Ultra and they are both great units. The Ultra Sounds great In a general way.

Eleven is actually really accurate at modeling the actual amps in it's collection where the Axe-FX isnt.

I also own the Mesa and Marshall real amps Eleven is emulating for comparison and I was shocked how much detail went into the models.

Eleven also gives you amazing interface with PTs that the Axe-FX doesnt.

    Personally I love em both.

  • Looks better than it sounds, compared to the AXE-FX it doesn't come close .The processors are lower grade and the limitations are annoyng after a while. FRACTAL-RULE !!!

  • Will this not work with Ableton live?

  • They ask so much for these things.

  • too much talk.... just let us hear a couple of sounds!!

  • This seems good but I personally hate Pro tools

  • I like the Pod X3 Live more than the Eleven in terms of amp emulation.

But the real thing is always the best.

  • actually in my opinion,

the pod xt pro is best.

    at least for metal.

  • I've got a Danelectro overdrive pedal that kicks this in the butt. Add some sweet reverb on my Peavey bandit amp, and I'm good to go. Just as good.

  • gotta be kidding

  • It should be obvious I'm kidding! This 11 thing is sweet.

  • Yes sir.

  • Which product is better????

    -Digidesign Eleven Rack.

    -Boss GT-Pro.

    -Line 6 X3 Pro.

    -Rocktron Prophesy II.

  • @crguti - Axe Fx (Ultra)

  • For cheaper get a Digitech RP1000. Not as good as a Axe FX or Prophesy but is damn close

  • Fractal Audio Axe FX! I sure love mine.

  • I want Axe-FX! My GS-10 was great when I got it 5 years ago... How do you record from the Axe? IF you do, that is.

  • Direct out of the xlr outputs.

  • Wow a repackaged M-Audio BlackBox with a repackaged price. Rodger Linn gets robbed again.

  • A) Roger was part of the development team on the Black Box, so he wasn't robbed of anything.

    B) this box has literally ZERO to do with that product - the basis for the dsp in the box is the Eleven plugin, which is light years away from the BB, quality-wise. Not even the same planet.

  • This product has existed for a long time. It was originally, and still is called the BOSS GT-PRO, which I own and highly recommend. The only thing that this one does a little better is the "true z" input I suppose. They mostly talking in this vid and I couldn't hear enough of the sounds, but the Boss GT-Pro feels like a real amp and even cleans up like a real tube amp when turning the guitar volume back too.

  • You are joking... right? There is no comparison to any other processor made today. If you had ever played through one of these, you would know that the Eleven Rack sounds twice as "real" and is 5 times the processor of the Boss GT6 or the Digitech 2120 or the Vox Tonelab, etc.

  • What about the Boss GT 10

  • I got thé GT-10 and love its effects, but Im would not use its amp simulations. I think they suck. They produce too much aliasing. They do not feel or sound right either. But the Effects alone are worth its price, the Uni-Vibe is astounding. I use it with the Baldringer Dual-Drive (best Overdrive unit on the planet) in tzhe effects loop.

  • I did buy the Eleven Rack while on vacation in the states. It came with protools LE . So far I used it to jam with some friends through a music man bassman and it kicked Ass right out of the box. Having Le is cool too, as I am a Protools HD user. Can't wait to dig in a bit more when I get back home to my studio.

  • @777olk the gt-10 suck bad i have one at home and i don't use it ,it just don't sound good

  • can you connect this to a cab and get a sound out of it or do you need a poweramp? sorry im new to rack gear :)

  • you need a power amp.

  • Cool product. Too bad the camera guy is a hyper-active whacko. I got seasick with all the wild zooming and panning.

  • great now the nerds have got hold of guitars..

  • this is tight, but i have always wanted a rig like this that i could wire each of my own pedals into any spot in the chain. like having multiple effects loops on the amp so that i can arrange them on the computer and place them guitar, real pedal, computer pedal, real pedal

  • What they don't tell us is, will new amp models be released, or will we be able to make our own models?

I think I'll stick with my Elmwood rack amp + TwoNotes Torpedo (power load/cab-mic DSP +more)

  • Digidesign makes you sign up with private information just to look at their videos! Unbelievable! How do I know if this is even close to being what I am interested in. Don't make me sign up for a mailing list just to find out

  • Signing up is not the only problem with Digidesign. You can't even call them or e-maile them unless you're a corporate. For example, no one knows including dealers when they'll release pro tools for win7 64bit and there's no way I can contact digidesign to find out. bullshit.

  • I guess that we will have to find a different solution. don't find the same problems with Apogee. Great customer support.

  • im using pro tools LE8 on win 7 64 bit. no problems what so ever. same with vista, x86 and x64.

  • wow it's a great news pro tools finaly working with the latest win 7 64 bit. How did you get the software, I thought they still haven't released it for win 7. and what is your audio interface.

  • they haven't worked with it. it just works xD. and an mbox mini. with an E-MU 1x1 midi interface. which is only designed to work with vista x86. also works on win 7 64bit.

  • lol you have a virus

  • what a terrible review of a product. I stopped watching @ 5:49 because I was tired of the camera guy only focusing on the people talking and not the GodDamned product! Plus, he couldn't keep the fucking camera still.

  • what if you don't want to use protools? Do those features like recording direct work in other DAWs? Let me guess...

  • Sure they do - you can split the digital outputs so that one side is the wet rig signal, and the other is the direct guitar sound. Record from there into whichever app you want. It comes with Pro Tools LE, but you don't technically have to use it.

  • who wouldn't want to use protools? there is a reason it is put into 99 percent of studios in the world. your just poking at it for no good reason.

  • who's 'poking' at protools. Maybe some already have another daw that they prefer to use.

  • That a a bit arrogant. There are many other good sequencers out there that work just as well for most folk.

I wouldn't want use it. I'm quite happy with my 2nd class sequencer....

  • Sorry Digidesign. Sounds digital...harsh and not realistic.

  • yeah digidesign clips all the time lol

    little joke there

actually the unit seems real nice, and is really not priced that bad considering who makes it

an axefx costs 1.5 times as much

  • Absolutely! This is a nice little box that has a lot of nice features for a very good price point! I thought this would be a whole lot more considering who made it. I have heard the Axe is amazing as well but as you mention, it costs quite a bit more and if you want the "supped up" version, you will pay well over 2100 bucks!

  • This video clips like sh*t

(as in, the volume is much too high, causes crackling)

  • sctstone.because i was on a scouting day and that means try to find the more info i could about products in case i misunderstood something or what so ever, any way i posted only the specs of the product nothing else.i didn't make this product .if that would be the case i would make it way more .mmm well with non of the limitations i posted( that are made by the manufacturer) all the studios i know had left 32 bit like6 years ago(at last . i didn't say nothing untrue about this product)

  • All I know is that if it's good enough for Dan Huff and Buddy Miller to be impressed, then it's perfect for what I need it to do. I've just ordered one up. Ha!

  • never really liked eleven and i like this thing even less. Very hollow and flamy sounding and very difficult to get the tone you have in your head out of it.

  • too bad :

its only for protools( there are many maaany daw better than protools now) see how many making of movies videos feature protools, very few)

its only vista 32 and xp 32 bit . 2010 and vista is going to another planet in a finger snapp, 32 bit gone in a year or less and they come with with this? and it requires 1 gig of ram? without 64 bit support?

  • rang, How many videos are you going to copy and paste this same paragraph onto. We get it, you dont like pro tools. Ive seen this same broken english crap on around 6 digidesign eleven videos now. If you dont like it, why are you watching every video there is on this topic?

  • ya really

  • i am using pt le8 with WINDOWS 7 64 BIT. no problems at all.

  • did anyone notice the dry string sound sticking out? was it delay»?

  • Well, it's a handheld camcorder. You're hearing everything from the microphone on the camera. Thus, you're hearing me pick the strings because the camera is close to me, but the amp sounds are coming from speakers farther away. Thus you hear both - pretty normal.

  • Hi Sean, Very funny presentation. Usbe-cable haha

Could you do some live clips? Playing not talking.

    Thanks.

  • Sounds pretty good when the guitar is going, but I don't think it will be convincing enough for everyone who hears it because there are noises that you expect to be there when the pick touches a muted string for example. Nothing there hardly at all.

  • a live engineer said.. it was a great rack.. but the tube sag was more of a digital sag.. to the average ear wouldnt be noticed. but you know engineers.. lol

im just wondering how it fares against the FRACTAL AUDIO AXE-FX

  • would be nice if DIGI puts in some bass thingies in this box so you can record bass.... maybe they have it i dont know.....instead of selling another box just for bass...

  • this is the solution for cheap home recording however im looking forward to buy it does anyone knows if we can purchase this without pro tools 8 i already have pro tools HD so having protools 8 is a little useless

  • All DigiDesign Equipment comes with Protools. I spoke with a DigiDesign Eleven Specialist Today Oct. 2nd 09' and this is what he told me. All DigiDesign Equipment. Comes with Protools. His name was Bill L. (Last name hidden for privacy) The cost for this is $899. at Guitar Center or Musicians Friend. I can't Wait to Hook it up and interface it with OS X.6

  • I think for now you will have to get the package but maybe they will start selling it seperate once they make back their R&D. But you could sell the Pro Tools on eBay or something for now or save it for a buddy.

  • That looks absolutely killer.

  • Looking forward to trying the rack. Eleven sounds bazillion times more real than line 6 and has more flexibility with mics etc.. I love it.. the distortions are sick and theres enough for me. havent tried amplitube metal , but I will say dont knock eleven til you REALLY try it.. for recording in an apt with close neighbors it is the shit

  • I hope Black Lion comes out with a Mod for this Avid Digidesign eleven...........

  • so the two major players in the software modelling are eleven and GTR3. the two major players in hardware DSP are axe-fx and eleven. last for re-amping, its the creation audio labs + protools but eleven kinda makes the creation audio labs obsolete. hmmmm interesting.

  • gtr3 sounds bad compared to amplitube metal, and you forgot line6, who are the biggest player in both dsp and software modeling.

  • i hope this sounds better than guitar rig lol, not saying guitar rig is a horrible program but it i tried it and honestly it sounds kinda shitty and emulated and it doesnt sound very realistic, nothing beats an amp and a few effects

  • ya dude ive tried a bunch of them like waves gtr3 , amplitube , revalver mk2 and i they sound ok especially for clean sounds but they just dont come close to real stuff

  • amplitube metal is much better.

  • I don't know why people have this stuff. All you need is a Boss CE-2 chorus and an amp. I knew a rodie for Rush who said that everything that Alex Lifeson does is with some Marshall plexis and a Boss CE-1 chorus.

  • I like Alex Lifeson, but he's not a tone god...besides, he has used HK, Hi-Watt, Gallien Kruger, Dean Markley, and other amps besides Marshall over the last 30 years. It seems like you don't understand the advantages shown here...boy, I do...

  • That's what I get for listening to a roadie - I think Alex was using the Plexis when the guy was roadie. I guess music would b pretty boring without all this new stuff coming out.

  • Now that I think about it - the guy was probably lying. He was usually drinking when I would talk with him. There's no way Alex got all those sounds with just a Boss CE-1.

  • Not fair. Sean Halley could make a $39.99 guitar sound like God. I will only buy this if I get Sean's skills along with the rack unit.

  • I'm gonna look into this.
