John McCain alone can be blamed for his failed and desperate campaign. That she did not live up to expectations is not only a statement on her own lack of readiness but an absolute indictment on McCains decision of Palin as VP in the first place. It was an overtly opportunistic choice aimed squarely at attracting disaffected Hillary voters. Politically clever but completely at the expense of the second highest office in the US and in that context an outrageous action. Blame youself John.

Well, if you consider healthcare and a number of other issues, America does seem to be a liberal nation.
The centre definitely has shifted towards the left, no matter how many pundits claim America's a "centre-right nation".
Just look at the evangelical movement. Many now focus on climate change, poverty and such rather than the more divisive culture war issues.
If the GOP is smart, it will move towards the centre. But I don't think the rump GOP of today will do so. They're in for more troubl
