  • If you're running RTK, why use the markers on the planter?

  • @olblue81 Because on rare occasions it will drop RTK and go to WAAS. We have markers, so we use them if we've seen it drop in a field. Some fields are excellent, so no markers.

  • Planting corn on corn ?

  • @WerFENDTfaehrtFUEHRT We do some corn on corn, although that field wasn't. It just has a lot of stalks from two years ago.

  • nice planting

  • Running her with RTK or Omnistar?

  • @Magnum9250 RTK from the IA DOT's RTN

  • @mx270a

I see it is the 252 receiver on the cab so I guess it is your own system, is it?

  • @shaulinis No, Kinze Vision display and an AutoPilot.

  • @mx270a

So you are using Wide Area Network so you are on the net may you use it with the Kinze like with yours system?

  • @shaulinis We are getting RTK correction from the state's RTN via the Internet. That data goes right to the 262 receiver. The Kinze stuff just cares about position data from the receiver. It doesn't care where the receiver is getting correction data from.

  • @mx270a and what kind of modem are you using?

  • @shaulinis Windows XP laptop computer with a Sierra Wireless 885 cellular modem and a Wilson cellular signal booster.

  • @mx270a

so you stil have internet acces on your tractor on the go ;)

How doe you connect laptop to the 262 receiver? what kind of cable doe you use?

  • @shaulinis I made a bluetooth module for the 262.

  • @mx270a

did you made it your self? Bluetooth to deuts?

  • @shaulinis Bought a RS-232 to bluetooth module and made a plug to connect it to the 262, then put it in a waterproof housing.

  • Hi Lance

Do you have a new quad, because you now love to make films that were made in the drive?

The Magnum and the Quadtrac for me are a feast for my eyes.

    Very nice machines.

If the Kinze planter entirely new?

Has the field work started only a few days since you have the latest in corn seed?

  • @Magnum9250 The QT is 3 years old, the planter is 2 years old.
