As far as small keyboard, I disagree--I tried this at Fry's and the key spacing is definitely full-size. Personally, I think this keyboard could be much smaller, you can type faster on smaller keys, d=r*t. I also really dislike "non-glare" screens, since when is clarity not desirable? But I love TrackPoints, the power-scaling CPU, the ultra-portable scale. As far as "poor screen" I wonder if the reviewer got a 1366x768? I saw one of these on Amazon that had lower resolution specs.
I find the battery life very poor, right now at balanced plan I have 1:25 minutes left with 92% battery. Also the screen compared to my eee pc 1201n which is a year older is noticeably worse, even my mom asked if there was something wrong with it. Also pricing to include a blue tooth controller was more money as well. I unfortunately had already sold my asus when I bought this one but I did consider returning it for the 1201p.
@circuitsports Don't know what the issue with your unit is, but all other reviews online show 4 hours easy playing straight HD videos, and 5-6 hours with moderate use like web surfing and document typing. My relative's X120e gets about 5 hours, and my personal one gets about 4.5 since I use it for videos half the time.
Is this machine good for music recording with the AMD? VSTs with hosts, MIDI, only one layer at a time, NOT multilayer of course. I would use Addictive Drums, Amplitube 3. Thank you very much!
Every single other reviewer got 6 hours of battery life with moderate use. And poor screen? WTF are you expecting? It's a $400-500 ultra-portable. Since it's only 11.6" the 1366x768 resolution is great as everything looks more crisp due to higher PPI. It's also matte, meaning it's better for outdoor use. It's not meant to replace a primary monitor.

Poor screen?? It has a very nice matte screen which allows for practically glare free use. Far better than glossy screens.
The only change I would make is the trackpad, which for me is completely unnecessary.
