  • hahaha i bet you think it added power

  • HAHA LOOKS LIKE TIBURON NOUSE

  • Whatever snico.... You have to make shit look even shittyer

  • Is that the hood scoop??? If so you need to take a few lessons instead of trying to show someone how to make one that looks that fucked up!!! Damn my 12 yr old could make one look professionally done compared to that hunk a shit

  • @pearlforme Lets see you make one better, instead of trolling behind your pc at home!

  • amazingly looks good,...i didnt have high hopes when i saw the mold

  • that's cool.

  • Can you make tits for your car too?

  • Cut a whole? Don't you mean a hole ? :S

  • If your going to try this at home least cover the foam with something like aluminium foil or aluminum ducting tape (NOT the plastic duct tape) so the fiberglass resin doesn't melt it and you lose all your work unless you use a Urethane foam that's resistant to melting

  • resin without hardner? or did he just leave that out- they never give you enough hardner major pet peeve about using fiberglass, well that and the stuff sticking all over me

  • what kind of resin is that"?

  • does this by any chance fuck up the aero dynamic of the car?

  • the scoop he made isnt the one on the car look at the sides of the scoop on the car compared to the one he made

  • That looks absolutely horrible. I think the shonky paint job just amplifies every little imperfection. :/

  • Good idea, and good work... But I hope that is a fiberglass hood. Different expansion rates = cracked paint.

  • nice fiberglass.... but it cheaper just to buy 1 small scoop

  • Mickey Mouse 101

  • after a week of driving, the scoop is cracked and starting to pull away from the bonnet...

  • @JackoTJK

I am the one that did this video over a year ago and i screwed it in place

  • You can polish a turd, but it's still a turd

  • @jamonrye the saying is you CANT polish a turd

  • looks good man and i dont see muself spending 2-300 dollars on a custom hood scoop either plus it looks good and its a good convo starter but you shouldve made it a little longer in thoe

  • there is actually a civic beside the chevy, I bet it's next. :)

  • Ha! On a fuckin cavalier too

  • Resin melts styrofoam....

  • sing Styrafome I carved to shape and fiberglass matte and resin,----------------------

I am trying to learn from you but that isn't even a sentence in English or anything anywhere near it. Please explain what you mean in plain English.

  • lol most dishonest DIY video ever.

  • Hay you skip a few steps!!! I don't think you did that hood scoop...

  • Uhh you kinda skipped a few steps there bud.

  • @avalableusername i agree.

  • Has it held up? I'm thinking of doing this

  • I shaped mine (for an 81 El Camino) from cardboard. Did it right on the body with short strand fiberglass. Obviously, the cardboard rotted away, which I wanted it to.

refined with glazing putty. It's a cosmetic scoop only...no hole in the hood, but it ain't going anywhere. solid as a rock.

  • can the Purpen (the stuf for sealing oround the windos) be used for a mold???

  • Can I Use The Self Adhesive

  • is the scoop hard after its completed.?

  • @9774333174 after 1 day

  • thanks man, I'm gunna try this out. where can I get the fiberglass matte? and the resin?

  • @dylanpawl

Homedepotttttt or go to a store that specializes in boat repair.

  • will the resin not erode the styrafoam? pm me plz i have many questions

  • hey thanks man ive been lookinf for something wide but narrow i could use for my resin haha didnt think about the lid to the can haha nice

  • I bet he is itching like a mo fo. Take it from me ware glowes and long sleeves, that shit is super itchy

  • @ukrarex Fuck yeah dude....its a pain when you have to scrub it off of your skin in the shower too.

  • hey i wanna make a whole entire fiberglass hood for my thunderbird..

can i use the stock hood as a mold??

and just add the scoop and then put the fiberglass on top??

    will it work??

  • @DYNO323 in theory yes it would work,I seen a guy make a truck bed from his old rusty one, takes lots of glass and time, sooo much resin,he was never the same after that,be sure to ventilate well

  • thanks for the advise it works..

  • right when i read the description i laughed. "i make a hood scoop for my CAVALIER"

  • from the first half, it looks like you have no idea what you are doing. also that hood scoop looks way off from what you built with fiberglass using a male mold only. fake

  • cool way to do a custom job. thanks

  • lol use gloves(Y)

and easy on the resin dude..get a roller

  • i bet was your first time you did use fiberglass!!!

  • That fiberglass matte is pretty rough weave.

  • thank god its not a fucking civic

  • @nadeemspage Erm, I'm not sure a Cavalier is much better. But he did a pretty nice job.

  • i was wondering could i use alot more styrafome and less fiberglass resin to make it lighter? im trying to make a large sword but this makes it look simple and easy oh yeah i almost forgot if i do use more styrafome to make it light will it still have a strong hold? considering its really light

  • The styrofoam is just the mold dude... its not a part of the hood scoop at all it is just used to shape the design... fiberglass is relatively light anyways but if you dont know what you are doing you could easily ruin your vehicle's hood... I reccomend practicing before you try to actually install one on your car... but if you are really interested in it just get a street performance hood scoop with the 3m tape and then bondo the scoop in... easier and less time consuming dude

  • can you tell me what do i need and how to do it step by step

  • wow, that actually turned out nice

  • Its not as eay as it looks. I made a cowl induction hood for my camaro. I CNC machined a mold and fibreglassed it. I bolted it to my hood. The body work takes a lot of patience, This Video does not show it. I have put in over 500 hrs on the hood and its almost complete. I bet this fellow took ithe hood to a body shop to get the filler and sanding done.

  • how big of a hole do u cut out of the hood & do u know the eazyest way to make a body kit usein the stock bumpers ??

  • does someone knows some web site where i can find more pictures or videos of this kind. dys hood scopes ....

    ???

  • nice cav.... thanx..........

  • Fantastic Idea. once you get the basic shape you can cut taper & roll the edges with more cloth creating almost anything and making it better then store bought scoops

  • thanks for the help bro thats all i needed
