  • podria haber una version en castellano de esto? por favor?¡

  • In other words, the pronoun "he" is the key. The third person singular "he" lets us know that the word "seed"' is singular. If the word "they" were actually used instead of "he", then we might rightly choose to make "seed" plural. But since the 3rd person singular "he" was used, "seed" remains singular and the verse stands as a messianic prophecy. As i study this topic, your video has actually strengthened my view that this verse is indeed messianic. Thank you.

  • @giannyma - See my video "Genesis 3:15 -- He or They?"

  • To be more direct, the word 'seed' should be interpreted as singular precisely because of the explicit mention and singular nature of the pronoun "he". Why would you go outside the verse to find other examples of where the word 'seed' is used to refer to a plurality and then come back to the verse in question only to ignore the explicit use of the singular "he"? I offer this as a sincere objection and hope you can answer.

  • In your video, you say, concerning the word "seed" that, "it is understood as a plurality since there is no explicit reference to an individual and as a consequence the term "they" should be used instead of " He". Isn't the pronoun "he" an explicit reference to a singular person, and as a consequence the word 'see' should be understood as a singular? Looks to me like your thinking is a little backwards. Though we don't know who the "he" is at the moment, the "he" is quite explicit.

  • I don't know Hebrew. I found your video very interesting. In many cultures, deity is referred to in the plural, even when it means the one true god. As earlier in Genesis, the dialogue is "let us make man in our image". In such case could the plural still indicate the messiah?

  • mate you are awesome may Gd bless you always as u expound His Words. Shalom

  • the prophecy of genesis 3:15 has an ultimate fulfillment in Jesus Christ. Naturally the seed of the woman is plural because Jesus would come to the earth in the flesh though the line of seth.

  • 2....not to mention the fact that various cultures were familiar with this prophecy and they interpreted it the exact same way...that someone who was half God/half man would come from heaven, be born of a virgin, and reside in the flesh.

  • 3...well....i did make a mistake in saying "half God/half man". Jesus possessed 'THE FULLNESS OF THE GODHEAD BODILY."

  • ברוך אתה ה' אלוהינו מלך העולם שלא עשני חסיד

  • Hey! Great Job! Very well done. Everyone should do word studies.

  • Thank Wayman.

I had not realized how much the text would open up and become so much richer after I began learning Hebrew!

  • Well said.

  • Thank you.
