  • the guy from Dexter is in the back-round at 1:28

  • If Lucas got an achievement award before 1999 that would be fine.

  • Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, Steven Spielberg, Mark Hammill, audience and stage - 6 things George digitally inserted into this video.

  • Tom Hanks saluting George Lucas? Wow... interesting how these two never worked together. Good for them.

  • Ha, George's reaction to Tom in the beginning is classic.

I want that X-Wing they strung up to the rafters.

  • Peter Jackson to direct a sequel, and the world will be better

  • lucas got an afi for howard the duck

  • Haha Quee Gon Jin

  • I love how tom hanks makes star wars sound like a jerry springer episode

  • KiddFelonyTV

  • Tom Hanks=God

  • @MarioMetroidFan No Morgan Freeman is God

  • If I ever met Lucas I would shake his hand and compliment him on the original Star Wars trilogy, then slap him for the sequels!

  • I would have killed that old fuck for butchering the old trilogy, and you're giving him awards?

  • @c0p13dn4m3 He made the old trilogy, you dolt.

  • @WildWest1122 No shit, dude, tell me something I don't know yet...

  • @c0p13dn4m3 Then how can you hate him? It's his movies. If you don't like the prequels, don't watch em. But their existence takes nothing away from the originals.

  • @WildWest1122 Since they are the same exact series, yes, they do. And don't try to tell me who to hate. Thanks.

  • @c0p13dn4m3 No, they don't. Just don't watch them. Gain the knowledge you get from them, but if they aren't enjoyable, then don't watch them. And I'm not telling you who to hate, but I will point out when it's silly to hate someone for the wrong reasons.

  • @WildWest1122 Well, you shouldn't, because I still hate him for being a faggot. Nuff said.

  • @c0p13dn4m3

There is plenty of valid reasons for hating George Lucas. Such as the fact that he behaves like a petty, tyrannic manchild, who is more than happy to take credit for the things his ex-wife did for the Star Wars films.

    But that one right there?

    Not cool.

  • @c0p13dn4m3 Simply because I'm bored, why, pray tell, is he a "faggot"?

  • @WildWest1122 Have you ever heard the expression: don't feed the trolls?

  • @c0p13dn4m3 Yeah but, this is entertaining.

  • @WildWest1122 Whatever, it's getting old. See you at the Michael Bay Life Achievement Award!

  • @c0p13dn4m3 Wish that comeback made sense. Oh well, why start now..

  • @WildWest1122 Have we really been arguing for 2 weeks now? Dude, let's just put an end to this already.

  • @c0p13dn4m3 Battle royale.

  • @c0p13dn4m3 Then just download the original versions of the original trilogy and shut the fuck up. No one wants to hear someone bitch about what George changed. GET OVER IT. Do I like watching Han shoot first? Fuck ya I do, do I bitch and complain everytime he doesn't? No. And you forget that it weren't for him, you wouldn't have anything to bitch about in the first place. Ya, they are giving him awards. Where's your classic trilogy of movies? Right, you don't have one, Lucas does.

  • @iBlah6666 No one wants to hear me, that's ok. I still have the right to say whatever the fuck I want, so go suck a cock.

  • @c0p13dn4m3 Real mature. Keep on trolling in the free world.

  • ablove

  • @peacelovebeachyygirl No, but I was sitting one table away from him in a Amichi's Pizza

  • I know everything about George Lucas, I ate pizza next to him.

  • @zahuulon95

cool! I didnt know eating pizza next to Lucas gave you total knowledge and expertise on the man...I cant even imagine what you would have happened if you guys were eating spagetti

  • Star Wars was the definitive saga of my childhood and honestly I still love Star Wars, only a brilliant mind like Lucas could have brought it to the world as it was!

  • see lucas, spielberg, and ford all sitting at a table together? well...if you watch South Park, you're thinking what i'm thinking

  • Somewhere ablove.

  • omg they got so old :D

  • Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, Steven Spielberg, George Lucas; 4 of the greatest actors and filmmakers of all time

  • @Theguitardude30 Don't forget John Williams to make the music for the greatest actors and filmmakers of all time

  • @Theguitardude30 I'd take Lucas out of the equation. While the world couldn't be the same without STAR WARS, he hasn't accomplished anything amazing since this or Indiana Jones. Hell, he didn't even direct half his work (because he can't handle both tasks too well).

Replace him with someone like Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino or James Mangold.

  • @Theguitardude30 minus george lucas

  • ROUND ABOUND :-)

  • why not in ohio...i love it and im in ohio...if i was 'round that time id be pissed...

  • Fuckign ads

  • Ok we get it Tom, you had to wait awhile to see the movie. In Cleveland Ohio.

  • At 2:00 Thats Michael something from Sixteen Candles, Edward Scissorhands, Weird Science also the news reporter from The Dark Knight. I forget his name.

  • 2:00 Darth Maul?

  • @HittokiriBattousai17 i don't think so....Darth Maul was played by Ray Park and I don't believe that is him

  • thumbs up for WOODY!!!

  • Gotta love his salute in the beginning!

  • as a fan, I dig his knowledge of those little details in the series...

  • Sir George Lucas, rise...

  • 2:18 That's Harrison Ford's laugh! I just love it

  • 2:01. ??? Who is that? The first thing that came to mind was Anthony Michael Hall.

  • George Lucas looks like rolf harris

  • @ntfc2008 :-)

  • george's neck is spilling out of his collar. eww. the older he gets, the more i think he resembles the head of an ewok and the body of jabba.

  • I think comparing Lord of the Rings and Star Wars is a waste

They're both incredible and you don't need to say one sucks just to make the other look better.

  • @FleaIsMyHero very hard.

  • @FleaIsMyHero The only difference is there are 6 Star Wars films and the recent prequel films were terrible!

  • @KayWildcat Woah! They were great not as good as the first 3 I might add but you NEVER ever say that about a George Lucas film unless its Indiana Jones film

  • @FleaIsMyHero same with harry potter :)

  • @FleaIsMyHero I agree. I do believe that, in many ways, Lord of the Rings is better. It's better acted, better written, and it has better visuals. But I love Star Wars a tiny bit more. I don't know. Maybe it's because my Dad went to the same college as George Lucas, so I feel I was born to be a Star Wars fan.

I don't know. But you know what? I don't care. Movies were not created to be compared, they were created to be enjoyed. Farewell wherever you Fare... and May the Force be with you...

  • @FleaIsMyHero hear hear!!

  • I love this video!

    Make more of it please!

    -James

  • LOTR is better but they need a new movie, what happend to LOTR a hobit's tail movie.

  • @BigBudBush They're making two new movies which is about Bilbo and Gandalf.

    Can't wait for it!

  • Comment removed

  • @darthqueen45 and Lucas admitted being inspired by Tolkien's books to create Star Wars.

  • @thshinning As Darth Vader would say, "The circle is now complete!"

  • es necesaria toda la basura antes del video?

  • Georgee has done more for the dumbdowning of America than anyone I can think of. He's now worth 4.6 billion ..... and Americans?

They can't even type 'yoda' without drooling

    :-(Sad faces all around)-:

  • Cleveland! I didn't know that Tom Hanks got his start there! :D

  • i love that speilberg and lucas are friends

  • move over Melody.

  • damn...we will never get another movie...so sad....

  • @BrockL191 There was a rumor that George wanted to do a 7 8 9 if he found a producer who wanted to produce lol.Rumors I think.

  • @MoultonProductions That was back when the Original Trilogy was being made. It's never going to happen now. George Lucas himself has said that was an idea he had back then but then the story was changed so it was Anakin's story or something

  • Three of my favorite people on Earth in the same video (with Harrison Ford). If you put in this video Batman, Marie Curie and Ellen Ripley, my head would explode.

  • @Hootshot112 "my head would explode"

I have a feeling there's not enough dynamite there to blow your nose let alone explode your head.

    Want to prove me wrong?

  • @cdddraftsman hahaha no no I don't wanna argue with you man! but it was just a figure of speech, you know?

  • best actor

  • I live in Ohio...

  • Gosh! Iso wanna meet George Lucas! And Tom Hanks!

  • i wanna meet george lucas!

  • I'd like to see you do half of what one of them did asshole

  • by 'eck. these AFI award ceremonies should feature under the dictionary explanation of the word sycophantic.

  • Tom Hanks did a good job there and he respects Lucas as do I.

  • Has Tom Hanks actually ever worked or collaborated with George Lucas? Sorry, I'm just wondering why they had him deliver a tribute to GL...

  • Not sure, however spielberg is tight with hanks and lucas, so maybe they all are buddies

  • somewhere ablove the planet tatooine? Ablove?

  • @teddyrubskin

    I thought that

  • I love this because Hanks isn't actually saying ANYTHING, he's just making allusion after allusion to nerdy references and details that only Star Wars fans would know.

    Tom Hanks is my hero...

  • Lol, yeah! And he also mentioned how long time it took. " 14 Godforsaken days went by."

Now, is it me, or was he referring to his movie cast away?..

  • Bachlor party.. Best Tom Hanks movie!!

  • yes bro definetley bachelor party is awesome i so love that film

  • Apparently, Hanks was working at the Great Lakes Theatre company in Cleveland back in 1977. And then "Bosom Buddies" after that. Who would have thunk he would become such a star?

  • ""Who would have thunk he would become such a star?""

Is "thunk" an American slang-word for "thought" ?

  • @Mann1979HH Yes, it is. When Tom Hanks started out in goofy television comedies, who would have thought he would become a serious dramatic actor.

  • @Nick....

Well, I first saw Tom Hanks in the movie "Big" (1988), But I think I watched in only in 1989 in Germany. And if I had ever used the word "thunk" in an English essay, that word would definetely have been marked as a mistake. Writing your own opionion on youtube is much more fun than writing essays at school.

PS: I wish I could have watched "Big" in original English back then in 1988 or 1989!!!!

  • Thunk and brung: An application of the rule behind Sing->Sung, sink->sunk and Drink->Drunk to the words think->thought and bring->brought.

Anti-intellectualism or alternatively anti-intellectual satire make these kinds of corruptions popular initially. But considering the american taste for linguistic efficiency and rules unification, I have a hunch they will be adopted soon into official versions of the language.

  • Actually, the anti-intellectual set does just the opposite of what you propose: they say "singed" and "drinked." The long-term tendency of English verbs is to turn "weak"--that is, to use an -ed ending to make the past tenses instead of changing the internal vowel like in sing-sang-sung.

  • he said ablove the planet tatoine x lol

i do love tom hanks xx

  • i'd like to know his response as to why they didn't cut out/retake the shot where a storm trooper hits his head on the ceiling/door frame...

  • Hey ant1ph0n , I dunno if you watch Clone Wars on Cartoon Net, but that blooper made it into the CG toon as well recently. A Clone Trooper hits his head on a pipe, prompting the commander to order infrared sighting. Maybe the trooper in E4 was one of his clumsy clones.... ; )

  • TOM HANKS RULES THE WORLD!!!!!

  • I love you Tom Hanks

  • abluv?

  • Damn rich brats! 1:11

  • @bamm343 :-) I would've said "The Godfather" or "Bond" but I'm not gonna agrue!!!

  • @bamm343m well, the original three were the best ever that's for sure.

  • @bamm343 James Bond........?

  • @bamm343 Me too. What a legend.

  • ablove

  • flyingbeagles....dude...that question should not have been responded to.

Tom Hanks sounds like a true fan!!!!!!!!! EPIC! 'There is only do or not do, there is no try'

  • Tom Hanks one of the greatest actors PERIOD? YES, I DO AGREE

  • Tom Hanks, one of the greatest actors PERIOD

  • I would have to disagree with you that cleveland is the best city. Concerning sports...not so good i'm afraid

  • It's the fourth chronologically, as in it was episode IV.

  • He's talking about the original Star Wars which came out in 1977. That was the "first" Star Wars movie but "fourth" in the timeline of the six movies.

  • dont mess with george lucas!

  • ur an idiot without him u wdnt have the series in the 1st place

  • George Lucas and Tom hanks are just major sucess story's

  • I like how George perks up when Hanks waslk in.

  • true becuase he knows that Tom hanks isnt only arguably the greatest actor of all time. But also has his hand in much more. He wanted to hear what he had to say about him

  • Tom RockZ!

And Star Wars Movies are CooL!

  • tom did his homework

  • star wars is a big part of my childhood... thanks for that george.

  • The Odeon Glasgow and a queue the size of the Kessel run. For our generation the impact this movie had on us will be with us always...

  • I thank George for making Star wars,,,,

I fell in love with ANakin/vader when I saw episode 4 at age 6

  • Because he didn't only make a movie 30 years ago but he changed and shaped movie history. Not only by the greatness of Star Wars but especially by the technical part / inventions. The THX standard, ILM, the technology to scan and transfer film for digital editing, even Pixar has its roots as a creation of George Lucas. So everything we see in the cinema today has been influenced by his work in some kind. Thats his real achievement.

  • In fact he founded Pixar. Its just that he sold it later on.

  • some where ablove tattooine

  • 14 days!? such agony!

  • I bow to George Lucas for making the greatest movie saga/franchise ever.

    A True Legend.

  • George Lucas shaped my childhood.

  • Same here

  • I can't imagine seeing the opening shot of Star Wars -- that Blockade Runner pursued by the endless Star Destroyer... All I got was Jar Jar...

  • "ablove..." rofl

  • There's always one idiot who makes fun of others forgetting his/her own failings..

    I guess TAG* You're it!

  • THANK YOU...GEORGE .

  • awesome!

  • i never thought mr. hanks was a fan! heck yeah!

  • AFI is a respectable film school and I think using the real H-word would be disrespectful. (Yeah, I know. It sounds really 90s')

  • i'd say more '50's

  • Great! Great, George!
