those people were somewhat right to seperate them, because not many people want to adopt twins and they wouldn't have been able to much of what they did, chances are they could have had to live much of their lives in adoption homes

Private adoption agencies made a lot of money from adoptive parents supply and demand. Adopt out of foster care it is free. Give a kid a good home who needs one. Everyone wants a kitten no one wants a cat.

I don't understand, it sounded like they gave two different stories:
1. They were separated because the psychologist in charge thought twins did better if raised separately, and then it was suggested that, as long as they were going to separate them, they should do a twin study.
2. They were separated by an evil scientist for the sole purpose of doing a twin study.
Those scenarios are totally different. I want to know which one happened. Both stories sound weird, but for different reasons.
just think if u saw a story in the paper about how twins were united after being separated at bith and @ the end there is a picture of 2 people who look exactly like you! the story about the triplets sounds way more interesting.
as interesting as the studies would turn out to be, this isn't really fair to these two to have their life played with like that for some scientists' entertainment.. nature vs nurture...it's always a bit of both so to all scientists, ACCEPT IT and stop meddling with people's lives.

It's funny, but you can definitely tell that they each have their own voices or ways of speaking, as well as being also very similar in other ways, environment does make a difference.
@Chumandoo3 not necessarily, my two best friends are in fact twins. they are 19 years of age and still as close as they were through ealy school, sharing money, their car, even still share a bedroom... but, they are two completely different people. one has a very deep voice, the other doesnt, the one is very dominent where the other will always take orders, ones very organised the other is a risk taker.. i could go on. so its not always the environment cos these two have had the same upbringing

yes they share the same Genes.........but what happens is Mitochondria DNA starts to cause slight differences between two twins....size, weight....slight hair color variances as they get older. Some of there differences are tiny..others start to look totally different.

It's funny, but you can definitely tell that they each have their own voices or ways of speaking, as well as being also very similar in other ways, environment does make a difference.

@Chumandoo3 not necessarily, my two best friends are in fact twins. they are 19 years of age and still as close as they were through ealy school, sharing money, their car, even still share a bedroom... but, they are two completely different people. one has a very deep voice, the other doesnt, the one is very dominent where the other will always take orders, ones very organised the other is a risk taker.. i could go on. so its not always the environment cos these two have had the same upbringing

@beatallhalos They are not one person. One person would have all the same thoughts and feel exactly the same, no differences at all. They are genetically identical, but they're two different people, as they've experienced different lives. It's interesting that they do have very similar personalities, but they aren't "1 person".

Imagine that, some freakin nutty scientist did this to them and feels no remorse. They said he was a psycologist or something, now I know that no matter what happens, you can't trust all psycologists or scientists for that matter. All they care about is their useless studies. Don't get me wrong, most are great people doing great things, but there are too many examples like this showing how corrupt they can be.

I am a Identical twin and if my sister and I were separated at birth for a science I'd be pissed too because my life would probably not be as fun if my twin sister was somewhere else and I didn't know. My life would be SOOOOO different without my twin and that'd be just for scientist to do studies. Not cool hah.

yes they share the same Genes.........but what happens is Mitochondria DNA starts to cause slight differences between two twins....size, weight....slight hair color variances as they get older. Some of there differences are tiny..others start to look totally different.
Ugg....scientists can be so disgusting... The path to hell is paved by best intentions. That is sickening.
These are human beings not lab rats! I love science..but there are ethics to be considered!

OMG.I met these twins when i was 16 and lived in NY. Me and my friends would see them at the shops at 5th and asked if we could talk 2 them. They would tell us to f** off or they would get us! They even threaten to burn my house down. When I was on the subway, I remember them both looking at me at the same time & asked me "what the f*** are you looking at, you faggot?" Sadly in November 2008 Elyse jumped from a bridge & died. Bernstein is often seen at her sisters grave still talking to her.
