This is a wonderful and well-deserved honor to the man who fathered one of the greatest artists of Pop. We love Laura and are so thankful to Mr.Nigro for being the father of such talented music star.
Thank you so much for this beautiful tribute video. I had the great pleasure of knowing Laura in her last years. I helped negotiated the compilation double cd.
During that time i spoke to her by phone almost daily. Not just a great artist but
a great human being. Such dignity and poise. I truly miss her.

Louis Nigro tuned my piano for years as well. . .and I loved him as I loved his daughter. I made my debut concert," 250 Years of Long Hair Music", in Carnegie Hall in 1971. I wanted Laura to be there as I was singing three of her songs. . .but Louis was there and I only found out when she died and I called him from Germany to to cry with him on the phone. He told me that no one but Laura had ever sung The Confession like me. I will take that to my grave. Thank you for this beautiful song
I was in the States wehn that show ran and always regretted missing it. I've missed her since April 7, 1997. It's now 4:19am and seeing this for the first time has brought the tears running down the face of this superannuated Laura fan. Thank you -- it's just splendid work, Gary! Very touching.
I believe you may be right, BUT that doesn't mean that they didn't love each other. Ppl are complex. He did use his contacts in the musical world to help her get started. He obviously believed in her and was proud of her.
Wow! This is very, very pretty. Kudos! I agree with the poster who wrote that the late great Ms Nyro looked a lot like her dad. How incredibly sad that she outlived her. She was one of the most gifted singer/songwriters that the world has ever seen. THANKS so much for posting this!
Dang she looks just like her Dad. Thank you Mr. Nigro 4 sharing Laura w/us. She was a super talent and those in the know, will always miss her like I do. God bless.
brian , you've put together a delicious tune man...a tribute to both lou and laura....and this tune is very " laura-like "with the instrumentation and rhythmic groove...love the vocalist ! and the story of the inspiration for the tune ! p.s. do you think lauras' tune "lu " was a tribute to her dad ?
Brian - very sweet. This song has "Brian Gari" written all over it (that's a good thing). By the way, can you believe it's been over 20 years since we shot the video of "Letter To Norma"? - DE
That a father is attending every performance of his late daughter's music by itself moves me deeply. That it is given sweet melody and poignant lyric moves me to tears. Beautiful.
