i want a zelda that gives me the same feeling i had when i entered the forest temple for the first time or passing through the fire temple while listening to the original song of the fire temple the one with the Muslim chants.
nintendo hasn't been able to recreate that same atmosphere, i'll tell you what the secret is,
ready? its the music and the dungeons , yes in the new zelda games we have this dungeons fun to play but they seem weird for me, in OOT each temple had its own atmosphere
@MorbidAnimosity Honestly, I agree. OoT was the best before, this took everything OoT did and made it better. Haven't played Skyward Sword yet, but Twilight Princess was amazing.
Ocarina of Time (LoZ: OoT) is the single best nintendo game ever created, let alone the cream of the Legend of Zelda crop. While I do think that Twilight Princess comes far closer to OoT than any of the others, its story isn't quite as groundbreaking, and its music is brutal in comparisson. OoT had the single best score ever. Also, in my opinion, Hyrule in Twilight mode seemed somewhat depressing to me. I also had some troubles with having to leave dungeons to restock on supplies. A solid 8.5/10
@Zman360063 I disagree with your comment about story. OoT's story isn't much of an improvement over LttP, only serving the purpose of bringing you to point A to B, and explain some game mechanics. Majora's Mask was the first real attempt to make a good story.
Twilight Princess story set a whole different mood, almost following along with dark style of Majora's Mask, but I felt it was more personal to Link instead of the world around him.
@KayleLang While it may be more personal, the fact remains that OoT has thrived through the ages. First on N64, then GCN, WiiWare, 3DS, etc. I own both these games, and while TP had better boss fights, and I'll take Midna over Navi any day, OoT was referenced in other Zelda games , which alone proves its prowess. TP is a mere port of a GCN game, with motion controls stuffed in. In comparisson to the times that these games were made, OoT clearly wins over. TP is close competition tho.

Mn I can't believe now a days IGN reviews are more favored on to big corporation games and the damn graphics (hey don't get me wrong I don't want to play a game that has a glitchy graphic like an Atari unless that's some kind of premise of the game). Hey it's cool that the game looks life like, but in reality does it's mechanics and game-play match up? It's sad that nowadays the game is no longer based of how fun it is.

No in fact I never really got into the adventure series except for the sequel. Like his 2d adventures are his best but when they made Sonic 3d blast that took a turn to the worst. Some people may like that game but not to me.

Man I remember as a kid I die so much at that stage due to the cheap platforming jumps. But still It's super fun, also it the only one in the series other than the first game to have a not so annoying and fun special stages.
@frankie23456789 I wouldn't say it ruined gaming, but at most time the game is over-rated, and the fan boys can be either normal human beings or complete douches to other forms of gaming (my guess is that the game that they are trying out uses a health meter that doesn't regenerate and doesn't use a gun).
I'm actually glad to know a young kid that enjoys old school games, but sadly now a days it's all about how the game looks and not quality for the younger generation.
Ocarina of Time can never be beat but they can keep trying cuz I'll keep playing! We have to admit it was nice playing a game that kept the same OoT feel to it. I also loved how they did what they could by making it darker that way it appealed to the older audience that grew up with OoT. Can't wait for the next "darker" Zelda.
But! When there's no voice acting, you don't have guys like me complaining about the poor quality of the voice acting. When reading it, I can hear any voice I want to best suit the character. Yay imagination!
ocarina of time is so much better than this game; ocarina of time had an interesting plot about the triforce and time travel and the ocarina of time, the characters were more interesting, the final battle with ganondorf was beyond epic, it was just an all around better game! plus twilight princess was way too easy, the final battle with ganondorf felt tacked on since the game was mainly focusing on zant and midna, yeahhhh twilight princess was disappointing
@koreadude I wouldn't call it disappointing. I'm a big Zelda fan and I really enjoyed this game, I got it on release date (GC version tho). It could've been a bit harder, I'll agree on that, but overall I think it was a really decent game. Nothing will ever top Ocarina of Time though.
The graphics are more colorful and natural looking. TP plot is pretty much a rehash with nothing new added and very little tie in with the other games in the series. OOT swordplay is easier to control and less jittery. Land is bigger in TP but it's so empty and devoid of characters. And reaching areas by cannon only (desert) belongs in Mario.
The more I think about it, Twilight Princess is not that good of a game compared to Ocarina, Majora's Mask and even Wind Waker.

Yes Tp was pretty shallow for a zelda game and its not the greates zelda games of all time but its still good and all zelda games should be consinderd great.

I just bought it yesterday, and I must say... it's awesome^^ I already have some experience with the DS-games (Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks) and I think, Legend of Zelda is the one of the best series ever... after Prince of Persia^^

@kostasos7 you have to buy it at some snobby rich pple store in hyrule castle town. its 10000 rupees but to get it to 600 rupees you have to help malo (the baby link knows from his hometown) he opens a shop in kakariko village and needs money to build a new bridge like a thousand, then after he gets that you have to, yet again, donate more money to him because he's trying to cuy out the snobby rich pple store in castle town. but all in all, when you wear the armor, you never get hurt but

in my opinion, i got into majoras mask more, and it had a darker story line, sure, the graphics were darker, but the fact that you had to save that town from being crushed, killing a hole bunch of people, in 3 days, is pretty scary! and the characters problems are very deep, Majoras mask is darker, people died, and you felt it, you feel for the people around you, and which makes the game much more immersive then twilight princess, so don't say that its darker then the other zelda games!
I always wonder if I played TP or tWW or SS before OoT (but after the 2ds), would I have thought "Man, OoT is fun, but X is still better". OoT is a great game, but is it the best in people's opinion just because it was the first 3D version most played and the nostalgia factor?
This needs to be tested... if you have children, please bring them up w/ the 2ds and then introduce each of them to different 3D Zeldas, then report back. :P
@Volair It comes down to personal opinion. There is no "best" Zelda game, the best one is what people feel is the best. This question is best left for fans to decide on their own. There will never be an official "greatest" Zelda game. Some people will still not agree. For example, one person's favourite Zelda game is OoT for their own reasons, and although lots of people agree, some still disagree. There are individual attributes in every Zelda game that make me and others appreciate every one.

although i loved twilight princess i just didnt find it to be an insane challenge like ocarina/majoras mask. Don't get me wrong this game is beautiful but i still feel that Ocarnia of time the Nintendo 64 version looks incredable The Colors are so much more vibrant that has to be my favorite game of all time! When ever I play it I feel like i'm in the game like it's real life like so far none of theo ther games compare but thats just my opinion.
voice acting? it could have gone far back as N64, but they didn't do it then! Why do it now? Use more room on the disc and forget about map space or something else?

Definitely agree with cassamasina here. Twilight Princess is more or less the best Zelda nintendo's ever made. Ocarina of Time is great but, in retrospect, ultimately lacks direction for most of the game; it's just not focused enough to be enjoyable the entire time. Majora's Mask was my least favourite, mostly because i didnt like the whole concept of "three days till Armageddon", which pretty much becomes pointless as soon as you get the ability to turn back the clock.

I found this review to be quite accurate i really agree with the music i mean i love the lil music chimes they put it in dont get me wrong but orchestra in zelda would be just amazing they should just incorparate both but in otherwards no complaining here best Zelda so far period.
its the biggest Hyrule with nothing in it. It didn't feel like a living breathing world to me, there weren't that many npc to interact with. or side-quests to do besides the bug hunting and turning that gold guy human again.

I found this game totally epic since i had never heard about zelda before but then one day i bought it thinking it might be something like WoW, I was totally wrong. This game is totally bindblowing, I rlly wasnt expecting such a good game. After that game i played almost every zelda.
ive beaten this game 3 times 1st time, then second time full hearts, then 3rd time with three hearts every completion was 10 hours less then the last my first time i took 45 hours then 35 hours then 20 hours it felt epic every time
The only part I don't like is that they flipped the whole world for the wii. I'm used to the gamecube version but I'm starting to like the wii version better.
not the best zelda ever created but the most epic and with the best presentaion no doubt. the music could the sound could be better and the music could be orchestral. the graphics might be slight better at some places like he said but overall its flawless but imo im no fan of the gloomy twilight world but still the game looks good. 8/10
i've played both versions gamecube years ago at a friends house before zelda was fun to me and i bought the wii version2 weeks ago got so addictaded that i'm almost done but did get stuck aLOT like i do in all games
I think they could have improved by not totally leaving the slingshot behind the second you got the hero's bow. Also, the fun parts of the game are much later in the story line, so you need to endure lots of boring text and running in circles around Hyrule before you can take up arms and experience the mechanics of the game.
the only thing i did not like about this game is that some items only work in their temples. For example, the spinner only works for a part in the desert temple. Same with the ball and chain; you only need it in snow, and the dominion rod only works in the temple of time and to get to the temple of sky.
But even that i think twilight princess is excellent; its challenging, quick, great action and reminds u of ocarina of time
@ElTICO31 you really need to investigate them. For example, you can use the BALL AND CHAIN to SMASH ROCKS instead of using bombs. I beat the game without ever having to by bombs because of that. but yeah, the spinner is pretty much useless except in some cases you need it to open gates, or scale a wall to get to a treasure.
@ElTICO31 yeah i would say the items in TP were extremely limited compared to ocarina/majora's. I really want a majora's mask sequel, or something like it.

I just bought it yesterday, and I must say... it's awesome^^ I already have some experience with the DS-games (Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks) and I think, Legend of Zelda is the one of the best series ever... after Prince of Persia^^

@kostasos7 you have to buy it at some snobby rich pple store in hyrule castle town. its 10000 rupees but to get it to 600 rupees you have to help malo (the baby link knows from his hometown) he opens a shop in kakariko village and needs money to build a new bridge like a thousand, then after he gets that you have to, yet again, donate more money to him because he's trying to cuy out the snobby rich pple store in castle town. but all in all, when you wear the armor, you never get hurt but

in my opinion, i got into majoras mask more, and it had a darker story line, sure, the graphics were darker, but the fact that you had to save that town from being crushed, killing a hole bunch of people, in 3 days, is pretty scary! and the characters problems are very deep, Majoras mask is darker, people died, and you felt it, you feel for the people around you, and which makes the game much more immersive then twilight princess, so don't say that its darker then the other zelda games!

I always wonder if I played TP or tWW or SS before OoT (but after the 2ds), would I have thought "Man, OoT is fun, but X is still better". OoT is a great game, but is it the best in people's opinion just because it was the first 3D version most played and the nostalgia factor?
This needs to be tested... if you have children, please bring them up w/ the 2ds and then introduce each of them to different 3D Zeldas, then report back. :P

@Volair It comes down to personal opinion. There is no "best" Zelda game, the best one is what people feel is the best. This question is best left for fans to decide on their own. There will never be an official "greatest" Zelda game. Some people will still not agree. For example, one person's favourite Zelda game is OoT for their own reasons, and although lots of people agree, some still disagree. There are individual attributes in every Zelda game that make me and others appreciate every one.

although i loved twilight princess i just didnt find it to be an insane challenge like ocarina/majoras mask. I have both versions of twilight princess and i love em both (not far on the wii version yet) but only thing bad i can say about it is also said in this video. THE BOSSES WERE FAR TOO FUCKEN EASY! i 1 shotted ganondorf with only losing like 3 hearts. you know how many times i died to ganondorf on ocarina? then ganon??? majora took me even more trys (no oni)

It did have a worm on the end, but I don't know if that changes anything. and yes, youre right. The ONLY boss that I found quite challenging was the semi-boss for the ice mansion. The guy with the chain and ball.

Don't get me wrong this game is beautiful but i still feel that Ocarnia of time the Nintendo 64 version looks incredable The Colors are so much more vibrant that has to be my favorite game of all time! When ever I play it I feel like i'm in the game like it's real life like so far none of theo ther games compare but thats just my opinion.

sigh* to the people who think link is no longer left handed link still is left handed, this is a port of the gamecube version so everything is reversed, so in the gamecube version if your gonna go left in a cave, in the same cave in the wii version you would be going right and so forth everything is opposite, so if link is left handed in the gamecube version in the wii he would be right handed.

Definitely agree with cassamasina here. Twilight Princess is more or less the best Zelda nintendo's ever made. Ocarina of Time is great but, in retrospect, ultimately lacks direction for most of the game; it's just not focused enough to be enjoyable the entire time. Majora's Mask was my least favourite, mostly because i didnt like the whole concept of "three days till Armageddon", which pretty much becomes pointless as soon as you get the ability to turn back the clock.

I found this review to be quite accurate i really agree with the music i mean i love the lil music chimes they put it in dont get me wrong but orchestra in zelda would be just amazing they should just incorparate both but in otherwards no complaining here best Zelda so far period.

its the biggest Hyrule with nothing in it. It didn't feel like a living breathing world to me, there weren't that many npc to interact with. or side-quests to do besides the bug hunting and turning that gold guy human again.

@lowki07 i absolutely agree with you....and the whole load to the next side of the map should have really been done away with...in retrospect despite that the game was okay it feels that they didn´t take a step forward...maybe they should have considered more elements...like openmap/sandbox (like in WW) with more sidequests (like in MM) ....but you are absolutely correct the map is just dull

The dungeons took me 45 minutes to complete in Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Wind waker.
However, this were takiing me at least an hour, maybe and hour and thirty minutes. They are long and fun.

ive beaten this game 3 times 1st time, then second time full hearts, then 3rd time with three hearts every completion was 10 hours less then the last my first time i took 45 hours then 35 hours then 20 hours it felt epic every time

I think they could have improved by not totally leaving the slingshot behind the second you got the hero's bow. Also, the fun parts of the game are much later in the story line, so you need to endure lots of boring text and running in circles around Hyrule before you can take up arms and experience the mechanics of the game.

the only thing i did not like about this game is that some items only work in their temples. For example, the spinner only works for a part in the desert temple. Same with the ball and chain; you only need it in snow, and the dominion rod only works in the temple of time and to get to the temple of sky.
But even that i think twilight princess is excellent; its challenging, quick, great action and reminds u of ocarina of time

@ElTICO31 you really need to investigate them. For example, you can use the BALL AND CHAIN to SMASH ROCKS instead of using bombs. I beat the game without ever having to by bombs because of that. but yeah, the spinner is pretty much useless except in some cases you need it to open gates, or scale a wall to get to a treasure.

NOOOO!!! He's me second favorite character in the game, besides Link, who is DAMN fine if I may say. I always looked forward to crossing down the field to have him come runnin' in yelling "hey hey!"
This game took me about 2 weeks to beat. I'd stay up untill 6 in the morning at times cuz it's so addictive. But I had a wee crush on Link and felt sad to leave him haha. Loser? So I've been told. lol
