FAU Boca Raton Campus Tour - Student Life

Just went to the campus open house. This University reallllllly impressed me. I thought it was just going to be another FIU type deal with the minimum in everything. I was wrong! Almost all their facilities have been updated, the campus looks amazing, the dorms are nice and clean, and the student life looks super fun. Their facilities, like the fitness center, looks like something you would find in a movie. Really excited about this school.

The campuses and dorms are really nice. I was really angery when I wrote that comment but this has developed into a decent school. This school is now ranked I think. But yeah I would go to this school only if I my other schools didnt except me. Get your BA then go to U of F.

For all of you considering it boring and dead. We are currently in the beginning of the Fall of 2011, and I can't say this enough: THIS IS HEAVEN ! I was planning to transfer until the beginning of this year (I am in my second year). Too many beautiful people coming in this year (lots of transfer, graduate and freshmen), plus the amazing new Innovation Village. This is heaven people! Want to party? Ha ! This is South Florida...Las Olas, South Beach, West Palm Beach, Mizner Park, Delray...FAU!

It's hot as hell though damn. Must be because of the ocean or something.

The new football stadium is going to make this school better though, the student life anyway. It really is dead after 5.

Also some places need to get bigger, because FAU keeps recruiting even more people. The bookstore needs more space when it's time to get books lol!! Same with the eating places. It feels like a food court more than college.

FAU is a really good university- personally, I think it's better than UF- it's more beautiful, cleaner, way nicer location, better professors, more relaxed, more community, less expensive. The breezeway is really cool too.

@perrypower333 If you're out of state it's around 20,000 - 25,000 I think. I wanted to go their for awhile, but only because I wanted to work at Disney. It's too big for my taste. Like 50,000 + people.

@perrypower333 it's an awesome school i personally never went there (fsu, now fau) student life is really what sells it. cool architecture, great gym, a'lot of areas to study late at night, and overall just a great place.

oh and because they don't have a whole lot of housing so it's a commuter campus, so basically why there isn't a lot of excitement either but they plan to build more housing.

give FAU 10 years and it'll be more known. Basically UCF was in FAU's current stage and look at them now, so well known however for a bad reason... they are just a party school but they are known now <_< lol

I honestly think with the stadium coming in Fall 2010, the school will get much better school spirit and excitement wise. I heard there isn't a lot to do, and Boca Raton is with snobby people. But if you meet the right friends there's endless things to do, maybe not on campus but around the city. Heck, it's near the beach aswell.

You can't expect to just go and do nothing and have it be exciting. You have to make it exciting for yourself!

@perrypower333 Go to FAU, I go to FSU in Tallahassee and this city makes you hate your University. FAU isn't that bad, just don't stay on campus or you'll be bored as hell!

@perrypower333 if you are talking about NOVA.. Northern Virgina Community College... then go to FAU. NOVA is terrible. i live in Northern Va and EVERYONE who goes to Nova hates it.

@perrypower333 I can't speak for NOVA because I don't know what university you are talking about, is it in Florida? I only know of Nova Southeastern University here in Florida. It's expensive because it's a private facility

FAU is growing every year. They seem to be building new places on campus every year, and a football stadium is coming to the campus which will raise the school excitement and spirit by a LOT. FAU will be exciting! Also its near the beach and surrounded by many cities aswell
