That's a nice defensive robocall, in response to McCain's very repulsive, nasty robocall (which I received on my own phone here at home in New Mexico). I am grateful that Karl Rove's legacy of campaign tactics is finally wearing thin and that people are learning to research issues and think for themselves instead of believing what they hear or see.

If this were a robo-call, there would have been a much more audible pause in between the voice mail voice and the guy's voice. This is clearly just some Obama supporter who took it upon himself to call everyone in the local phone book and voice his opinion.
I do not approve of his actions, but then again, you mislabeled this "robo-call" as Obama's, which I also disapprove of. He never said Obama supported this message, so it's clearly not an Obama robo-call.

A lot is made of McCain finishing near the bottom of his class at law school. Why can't we find out where Obama finished? Why won't he release any of his grades or papers. Why was NONE of his work archived in the Illinois state senate, didn't he do any work? I would like to know more than bumper sticker slogans about the man I am going to vote for, or not.

First off, McCain didn't go to law school, he finished 894 out of 899 at the Naval Academy. Information about Obama's time at Harvard has been released, have you heard of this thing called the Googles? His work in the Illinois Senate is public record, it's called government transparency. You can get more than bumper sticker slogans, all you have too do is READ. More information about Obama has been released than any candidate in US history because he has to defend ridiculous claims by repubs

Serving your country & good grades are commendable - I know that the Acadamies' standards are much higher than most colleges; nevertheless, both are commendable. Most of the time, however, common sense prevails over "book smarts" & there's no comparison between McCain's common sense & Obama's lack of it. i.e, Wright & Ayers.

I think the Ayers thing is blown out of proportion-that board that Obama sat on was also sat on by many of Chicago's leaders, both repubs and dems. The goal was education, not terrorism. The Wright thing sounds bad, but I've heard my priests say bad things (divorced people will serve eternity in hell) that I don't agree with, but I stayed in the parish for different reasons. As far as common sense, I only point to Palin-how is she more qualified than Romney, Rudy, Huckabee??? She isn't=bad judg.

Ive yet to hear anyone detail the specifics of the Ayers "association". Knowing someone over the course of 7 years doesn't mean u know anything about them, let alone prescribe to their thinking. I've served on charitable boards and couldn't tell u the first thing about the other people other than we were there for a common good cause. And yes I am quick to forgive, its the 13 years of Catholic school in my-forgive me for this flaw.

the problem with Ayers and I consider this the only problem I have with Obama -- is that he is an unabashed marxist/anarchist. The Annenberg Challenge project started with Obama and Ayers along with others seeking to redefine education. Money raised was given to third party community groups to fund special projects like the United Nations school and African American studies school. The projects supported abandoned the 3 r's in favour of community involvement .....

I agree with you that guilt by assosciation is a bullshit tactic. Truthfully I wouldn't trust McCain any more than Obama, neither one of them are free market advocates, and neither of them have comprehensive economic knowledge. I thought the Rev Wright stuff was completely blown out of proportion, but on balance religious rightwingers are excoriated over their churches regularly, I think both are no one else business but the media and I disagree on that.

I watch CNN, MSNBC and FOXNEWS (prob Fox the most) and the Ayers thing has been on all of the networks (none as much as FOX). Its funny tho that Sean Hannity would say John Edwards can't relate to the common American because of a $400 haircut yet he won't even touch the $150,000.00 wardrobe. I also agree the wardrobe thing is a bit much, but I think the reasons for staying away from it are different for different networks. Fox won't touch it because it makes Palin worse, the rest won't touch it because they are afraid of what comes out if Obama's wardrobe charges to the party are exposed.
