which one sounds more painful? Having your cat be declawed or having your cat being put down cause they scratched someone? I would say put down because that causes the person more pain then the cat. I have been to vet clinic before to see the surgeries they do and all animals are put under anesthesia before surgery.

@Jrrhubarb Cats don't feel that much pain when declawed. They're under anesthetics when their claws are taken out, and yes, their paws are a little sore, but that's it! There's pretty much no suffering for the cat itself! They leave on the back claws in case the cat runs away and needs to fight some, but I can guarantee that nobody declaws an outdoor cat. And there's really no need for the language there, honestly. (And about animal protection, we have laws on that too, you know.)

@slinkysmommy my cat was declawed when i was little and our cat was fine. he didnt act any different and his paws were fine. He had to be put to sleep at 17 because of thyroid cancer. So chill out about declawing. People cut off dogs tails and dock the ears and no one complains about that.
