You can drive all the way to Alaminos, Pangasinan from Metro Manila. It only takes about 4-5 hours travel time, Tim.

I also got to eat giant shrimps, fresh oysters and crabs. There's even this local slimy sea slug favorite that tastes like unagi!

It was a seafood spread! I just wasn't able to get it on video. :-(

You say you had to leave Manila at 1am...how long does it take to get there? Can you do it as a day trip or do you recommend to stay over night.

I highly recommend this destination when you visit the Philippines on April.

We had to leave Manila at around 1am to avoid the day traffic to the north and arrive at Pangasinan before 5am. A night's drive only takes 4 hrs as oppose to 6 hrs during the day.

It's a wondrous diver's fantasy there but I think Boracay's coral reef is much better. You've been to Boracay, right? I've seen your videos. :-)

Hahaha! I knew you could relate to this experience, Reggie. I recall that you mentioned in your Filipino Tag that you've seen the Hundred Islands back in year 2000.

I really had a great time there. It's a pity I was already this old when I visit this place for the first time. Locals say that the corals and beaches way back then were much more beautiful. I will come back in Alaminos again when I can! :-)
