  • BANANAPIELORD!

  • The use of BPL makes no sense when you consider that there's already coaxial cable and fiber optic lines which also travel along the poles and don't cause interference.

  • This is a fine example of this vile and Disgusting harmfull interference that this crap generates.

  • This is a fine example of this vile and Disgusting harmfull interference that this crap generates

  • I thought this crap was dead, but it's about to be rolled out in Liverpool, UK. :(

  • This is absolutely awful. I thought the interference from my plasma TV to 160m and 80m in particular was bad until I saw this. Hope these trials have ended in failure??

  • I would like to say great video which it is, but the info is very disturbing in more ways than one, But if these big companies, pushing this rubbish want to go bankrupt 5thay are going the right way about it , We need to find the share holders of these companies. I Believe it is BT in England And make sure they know the company there money is on A suicide Track.

    my best

  • I would like to know if the DV (digital voice) could be the "solution" to us, HAM's...

    Sorry for the poor english

  • PLS Dont Blame All BPL Manufacturer Causing Problems as did DS2 and Mitshubishi in Hobart. In My Experience, DS2 and Mitshubishi is using to much Power to Cover its defective BPL Products. Intellon doesnt create that much Interferece problem ( more Eviromental Friendly )

  • If this shit hits USA, argg i would be pissed, would this give problems for ppl listening 2 sw/ssb from usa 2 Australia, the SW tramsmitters should over power it but im just making sure

  • Outside of disasters, Amateur Radio is useful in many ways. During a disaster: Whether it be natural or otherwise, widespread or localized, I would hate to think that an individual's life or the safety and well being of the community was dependent on the communication ability of an Amateur Radio Operator, but that communication ability was impossible due to BPL interference. Sad indeed, especially if human life was lost.....

  • thats a lame comment it would be the wrong side if driving in the usa in australia ireland the uk japan south africa new zealand and in fact 34% of the world that would be the correct side

  • What abouth the health.

  • Very sad to see/hear this.

I'm hoping the use of the HF spectrum by Shanwick Aeronautical Communications in my part of the world (Western Ireland) will prevent similar from happening, but who knows.

  • It gets worse - imagine a metropolitan area that is served by hundreds of these 10 watt BPL transmitters, each spewing out most of that power as radiated energy. All that grunge will wipe out long-distance communications over large areas of the earth, 24 hours a day, thanks to ionospheric radio wave propagation (so-called "skip" reflection.)

  • That's nice to inform but what we can do we have no any power in front of the big firms doing this shit ? ? ?

    The radio will die ?

    We will see...

  • Its disgusting! You are right Justin, Amateur operaters have to go through licencing procedures and pay for it to use the radio spectrum and here is this telco. placing this garbage on the air!! What is this country comming to!?

  • Just a quick question - I'm not technically minded on any of this, so please forgive my ignorance.

I know some people who lives right in amongst that BPL trial area who have said that their phone lines and internet have been woefully bad over the past several months.

In your expert opinion, could this be caused by this trial - Yes or No?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Without knowing more information about the equipment, environment and what is being experienced then I couldn't say whether it was a BPL issue or not. Suggest they contact their phone/ISP provider.

  • cheers Justin............. Surely the ACMA wouldn't approve such a system

  • hhhmmm so if a licensed HF operator transmitts in a BPL enabled area they are going to kill network activity?

oh well who will get shut down first i wonder, the radio operator or the bpl connection.

    i

  • uffff this should be illigal.

  • Excellent presention Justin ..Just hope the powers in ACMA do the right thing by HF users and Squash it before it goes any further!

  • too much interference in built up areas but may work in rural country areas and for people who live in outback areas with little or no broadband access...would cause less problems in those areas.

  • The economics of rolling BPL out in a rural area where there are only a few consumers per square mile/km would mean the cost/benefit would be negative and most companies wouldn't bother.

  • If possible I would like a copy of this in .MPG1 or .MPG2 format with permission to run over our local ATV repeater? (VK4RKP). We already run the ARRL BPL warning video. If you don't mind, please email to vk4akp -at- yahoo dot com dot au TNX, Ken.-.-. P.S. BPL Burn in Hell! :(

  • Oh boy !!

  • well done, tnks

  • What does ITU think about BPL ???

  • There could be no way ACMA could approve such a system, surely not!!

  • Good Work Justin, Very Interesting 73's VK7FDNA Damien

  • BPL is a real worry
